  • A new beautiful and well-done kit from Tamiya. In this video, I try to build the Toyota Supra scale model car 1/24 from Tamiya. The parts for this kit are fit very well, no need for major adjustments. The body color is read by Mr. Hobby, the plastic is gray so I need to spray white filler and after that pink primer from Zero Paints.
This 1/24 Toyota Supra kit has many parts with a lot of details on the engine, the interior is nice and crisp with a well-done dashboard. For the exterior, the front hood is opening to see the engine and the only change that I made was on the rims. I didn't like the original color and changed it to Tamiya silver LP paint.

how productive you are :) one scale model per month, hehe. It turned out very well, you already have experience from Castrol Supra. I like the paint job, especially the dash. I have to try this technique of dropping varnish on the dials, I'm still afraid that the decal would wrinkle (I'll do a test sometime). Congratulations on the result! I also have this model in storage, but its time hasn't come yet. I am currently working on a Honda CRX.

      Hey!
About varnish on dashboard decals, I use acrylic varnish after 24h dry time for decals.
Thank you for your appreciation, is an awesome kit to build, and has a lot of details, especially on the engine. Yes, the Castrol helps me a lot :)
Now, I'm working on a new Castrol :)) (plan to finish this kit in 10 days lol)
*can wait to see the Honda

Hmmm, pre-shading the surface details instead of a pin-wash at the end is a pretty cool idea.
Also reminded me to add some varnish to the dials, always forget.
    Neat.

Or some resin that hardens on uv light I think that will be cooler :)

@@SmallScaleFun Defo would be although that is something I'd beinterested in in an open top car, would look real cool on the dials.
I love interior car detail but if it mostly disappears once you put the roof on I'd draw a line how far to go!

Do you use tamiya paint when brushing, if so do you use any paint retardant with the paint? Btw what brushes do you use? Thx

      Hey!
When brushing, I use Tamiya acrylic paints in small bottles (10ml) with a Tamiya Paint Retarder for acrylics.
I use paint retarders, especially on big parts to prevent paint from early dry and reduce the brushing effect.
I use cheap brushes like Ammo or Italeri with - 2/0, 1, and 10/0 sizes for small parts.
*if you have budget you can go for more expensive ones but for me is enough until I start painting miniature figures :)
      Hope it helps,
      Cheers!

Is this model good for beginners?

      Hey!
      Sorry for my late response.
Yes, is a good model for beginners.
You have a lot of details to improve your modeling skills and body is easy to sand and paint (for normal colors)
