When Hamza is talking about discipline, we see his physic. When Jordan talks about discipline, we see his ability to debate, entertain and his speaking skills. This is it.
I love the second point. Treating yourself like someone you like. Don't feel sorry for yourself and actually see your potential. My body hardely even changed since I started self improvement but my confidence sky rocketed. I used to feel sorry for being me and now I go out and feel bad that other people can't be as fortunate as me to be so grounded with myself.
I agree. Hamza covered it a few days ago in his unfiltered channel and a lot of people said that this is probably one of the most important advice in self improvement. I’m glad he finally talks about it in the main channel.
For sure if you have a intresting personality and charisma. But you cant be yourself if you are one of those boring ass dudes who has nothing funny to say
@@looooonooooooooooooooooooooong my entire 4 years of highschool I was a outcast that was an invisible person for so long. And this killed my self confidence and self image and made me hate myself because I thought I was different from everyone. I hated myself so much I started going out at 3am to hurt people because I was that bad of a person. I'm not perfect now but I'm getting better. I'm being generous to people not looking for a thank you but secretly trying to forgive myself for the things I did but I can't change the past so all I can do is change my present self.
@@looooonooooooooooooooooooooong and I love how you don't want to respond to me because I actually made it out and love myself more from self improvement. If you keep acting this way and thinking this shit is cringe you're gonna end up hating yourself your whole life.
Rule #9 is one of my favorites, because even if the other person can't offer you actual knowledge, they can still offer something. If you're talking to someone you consider to be a degenerate, and you know this for sure, then analyze them and try and understand why they are that way.
To anyone in a dark hole, All it takes is one small change to get your momentum going. The hardest part is starting and sticking with it for a good two weeks. If you can push through your life will transform drastically. I used to be 300 pounds, obese and diagnosed with diabetes. I started eating healthy and working out everyday for a year straight. I sacrificed a lot of friendships for this but I lost 120 pounds and I have the abs I used to always think I would never get. After the lockdowns, I digressed back to my fat lazy self. In the last two months, I’ve lost all the weight I’ve gained and I’m back to being disciplined in every area of my life. If you stay consistent and disciplined in any area of your life you will end up succeeding. Talk to strangers, treat them with kindness, and genuinely develop an interest in others. Your social skills will blossom like crazy and you’ll be surprised that having a normal conversation with a girl will lead to her being interested in you. Be assertive in all areas of your life and constantly evaluate your failures. The worst thing you can do is give in to the limited beliefs you have about yourself. Sincerely, Someone who was stuck in a dark hole twice and made it out
“Don’t let your kids do anything that makes you dislike them” also has to do with resentment I believe. When you allow your kids to act in a way that creates resentment, you are allowing them to put a strain on your relationship, and you will begin to act towards them out of anger instead of level headedness
I read this book on December of last year and decided that for 2022 I would focus solely on one rule per month (January - stand up straight... etc). I think it's a great way of implementing every rule and actually making it a habit. Thanks for the video Hamza, regards from Spain
About rule 11, I've been trying to find a gym near my school or house, and my mom has been "helping" me. I was thinking about asking for my parents to sign me up and pay the first monthly payment as my Christmas gift. At first I found one about 10 minutes walking from my school, it looked nice and had good reviews. Later I found out it was for 16+ only, I'm 14 nearly 15. Now I found a new one near my house, and I'm allowed to sign up, even being only 14. My mom came along and is now demanding to alter my workout routine. I workout multiple times a week, on mondays I have swimming lessons, on tuesdays I have Push Day and cardio, on wednesdays I have Leg Day, on thursday I have pull day, on friday I have swimming lessons again, and on saturdays I do cardio, on sundays I just go to church and do whatever. My mom said that she wouldn't sign me up in the gym unless I only worked out twice a week, so basically giving up on half of my routine. She also demanded that I have a personal trainer who will be always looking at what I'm doing and orientating me. I have been doing calisthenics for over a year now, I am the best at P.E. in my class, and I've been looking into weightlifting, having studied the subject quite vigorously. When I asked her why I couldn't just keep working out as much as I do now if I joined the gym, she replied with "Because I don't want you to get too big, you're already slim and muscular enough", she then asked me to show her what kind of physique I wanted to build, I searched "calisthenics" on google and clicked on images, she said "Noo! That's too muscular, that's just creepy and threatening". What the hell am I supposed to do? I am actually considering telling her that I don't want to join the gym then and just ask for a pair of dumbells for Christmas.
Hey young bro, first of all congrats for your determination in training and cultivating your physique and strength, you're on the right track! It seems like you have a controlling mother, and it's normal on her part since you were a kid up until yesterday in her eyes, but what does your father have to say/would say? In my opinion you should try and talk to her, show your motivation and make her understand that you have your own goals and identity, that she can't decide who you're gonna become on your behalf.. you are free to become whoever you want, and if you wanna get jacked you should have the right to do so (safely and progressively over time obviously). I bet she is worried because you have a lot boiling on your plate, and you should still save time and energies for studying and reading/relaxing/socializing as well. I can also understand the requirement of a personal trainer, since in the gym it is very important to learn how to train and how to use the equipment in the right way, especially in the beginning in order not to build wrong habits. Maybe you could try and reach an agreement with her, you could start going to the gym twice a week with a trainer while still swimming, and than ramp up from there over time! In any case talking openly is the best way to deal with disagreements! Try to understand her perspective/worries and make yourself be understood!
@@MrLorenzoriz Talking with her is hardly a choice being that I've already tried doing so and she started screaming at me. But I am not going to slow down my progress even if that means keep running in the woods while she isn't home for cardio, learning survival techniques while doing so, and using a bag with all the books I have to simulate dumbells. About my dad's opinion, he agreed with my mother about the personal trainer but had a different idea in mind. He meant personal trainer, as in someone who will let me know when I'm doing half reps and have bad form, and spot me for example, and someone who I can ask how to do certain exercises for example. I also asked him about the 2 times a week thing, and he agreed with me, saying that if I've been doing that routine consistently, he had no problem with me going to the gym as much times as I wanted. In the gym I found recently, there is always atleast 1 staff member walking around, who I can ask for help and even ask him/her to spot me if needed. My mom doesn't appear to understand the level that I've been operating on for the last 2 months however and wants to treat me like a newbie.
@@wiserguest1238 Just wait until you are 16, for now just do calisthenics and become a beast that way, if you have an aunt, uncle, or someone who is an adult, ask them to make you a gym membership or to use their current one or just go with them. Be creative in adding weight to your workouts with calisthenics, use a backpack and books, add rocks, you'll figure it out bro. I did that for a whole year or 2
I haven’t read the book. And point number 2 is something I learned literally 2 weeks ago. I talk to my inner self like a little brother. It’s helped me tremendously
When I was in uni aged 20 I had had very similar experiences to yours at the time (I am also 25 now), I stayed in doing a lot of bad habits and I was letting let my life fall to bits. Reading 12 rules for life was the one of the first things that made me realize I could take responsibilty for myself, and not only that, but that it was neccesary. So glad to hear you speak about this book. So refreshing to be hearing your own perspective on it. Keep up the good work 👊
this is very relatable, this made my day, finding people with the same ideas always motivates me. I think you will like my channel I started self-improvement and I made my first youtube video a couple of days ago and also posted a video today I need some advice maybe if you watched it would help me a lot and i am also gonna post today a video on how to change your life.
“The beliefs that you have about yourself, largely make up your life” - Hamza Damn, that quote really hit me. As a person who actually read Jordan Peterson’s “12 Rules for Life” book back in 2020 at 18 years old, I still was living a lie. Even though I was born with a pretty rare heart condition (HLHS), I always grew up liking history more than science, even though I got good grades in both. It caused me to major in political science my first year of university because I always told myself “I don’t like science that much.” After taking some political science classes my freshman year, and realizing I didn’t want to go to law school, I decided to become honest with myself. I began to realize that, throughout my whole 20 years of life, every time I was in the hospital for any surgery / procedure for my heart, I always loved, and still love, talking to the nurses, doctors, cardiologists, etc. and noticed that I would love to have the job they do. I changed my degree around three months ago from Political Science to Nursing and hope to become a Pediatric Cardiac ICU Nurse. I have also already been volunteering at my local hospital just for fun and I already love it way more than a paid job I had in high school as a cashier. Nursing school might be hard, but when I was completely honest with myself, I realize… ITS WORTH THE SACRIFICE!
I've noticed some of the stuff mentioned in this video and feel abit proud about myself as I was able to figure out some of these things before clicking onto this video. Like the point about really listening in a conversation instead of interrupting and judging making people feel unable to open up as they may feel hate, guilt and alienated by a negative response . Another one of the points included being transparent with yourself. This is powerful as it links with the idea of 'self trust' and how u are able to be more trusting and can believe ur able to get things done as u have built the habit of doing so. It goes further as once u form this connection in my experience along with trust comes many other things. U start trusting ur decision making more as u are improving ur flaws by being transparent and have a boosted confidence when doing conscious acts as u kW u put in the work to improve and have a better self perception. Sorry if I couldn't explain the best I'm a bit new to this concept but I will eventually tackle it😂. Hamza I was wondering if I would be able to join ur team. I seen ur form to join ur workforce and I am working on the things u are looking for like: editing and people who manage ur buisness like the marketing, sales etc.. I am working on the things u are looking for and want to send u a email about my backstory, how u have helped me and the new reformed person I am and why I would like to be on ur team.
Read Peterson's book this summer and have been trying to implement his advice as much as I possibly can. Dr. Peterson is one of the people who changed my life for the better so much, along with Hamza and some self improvement authors. I'm really grateful for them to stand up for men regardless of the backlash. God bless y'all ❤
What I love about these comment sections is that it’s literally just wholesome people with the same problems trying to help each other and no only in ohios or some shit like that.
Had the opportunity to see Jordan Peterson over the weekend in Melbourne. Very well spoken and inspiring to see in person, everyone here should hopefully have the same opportunity to see him in person and read his books.
My favourite type of content from you Hamza, especially when you have already read the book, it reinforces the points and makes it easier to implement in real life. Also interesting to see how other people interpret it. Thank you
I seen a tiktok edit of one of your videos about 4 days ago now. I'm currently starting a diet, dopamine detox, and constant at-home workout. I think its about time I start my life.
26:49 Rule #10 in dr.Petersons book beyond order 12 more rules for life (rule 10. sustain your romance). He actually goes farther into the point Hamza is making in the video that you and your partner should speak about things that make you unhappy as fast as possible before you start resenting each other. At some point he mentioned a story about a woman cutting her dying husbands nails too short so they would bleed just to make dying a little worse, asuming you don't want to end up in a similar situation you'd want to make sure you don't resent eachother.
Thank you hamza for uploading this, I’ve been slipping recently I just needed some extra support and this video is gonna get me back up to 100% Many blessings 🙏
Recently, I became friends with a guy called Ben, he is the strongest in my year and he makes mote money then all of our year combined (I'm in year ten) but I didn't know that origionaly, I became friends with him because we sat next to each over in biology. At the start we were not realy friends, we would only chat in class but because of what he was doing he motivated me to get better. I'm currently overweight but I'm going to the gym 3 times a week because he advised me too, and aswell due to his motivation, I've started my own clothing brand. I think the most important thing in life is to find someone who can push you to be better, a mix of You and Ben is what strives me. Thanks alot. And because I am striving to achieve these goals our friendship has become elite. I don't think anything can break this bond we have.
Hamza thanks for making these videos. I was close to becoming a jeffery a while ago, then i started to watch you, Dr. Peterson, and other creators like you and I'm now close to being an Adonis.
I really like how you created a detailed guide for this book. Jordan Peterson's insights are fantastic, and he's seriously underappreciated in the realm of red pills. He has so many useful insights as a psychologist, and I'm adding this film to my Watch Later queue. Maybe you can offer some insights that I hadn't considered previously.
This is my testimony. Jordan has literally changed my life. I'm 28 and life hit me pretty hard. I'm actually coming up with a resource that helped me become the man I am today. I used to live in Miami around street violence, I used to eat $3 a day, 25 cents noodles, expired toast and canned campbell tomato soup. I survived the Boston Marathon Bombing which was a few feet away and I saw all the blood the people screaming and I was alone at 18. I also used to live in a room with no kitchen, trash bag as a window and bugs crawling on me at night. I also took boxing to protect myself and learned how to defend against bigger threats. Now I live in a cabin in the north of Sweden where I go down to a lake to breathe and heal my past and I post on TH-cam to help others who need it the most.
I regret that I didn't read this book over the summer. I had it for 2 months but I was focused heavily on you can't hurt me instead. I still got insane value from it but thank you for summarizing this book hamza
this resonates with me meaning with decision-making and life choices regarding my life. same rules but applied in the same manner to me as a woman. regarding a son, I am 18 and will worry about this when the time comes. none of your concern:)
English is my second language and this book was quite frankly too difficult for me but this video really helped me understand better about the book! Cheers!
#12 is so beautiful... i love feeling the rain dropping on my clothes while cycling and the razor sharp wind hitting me in my face, making my eyes teary. Absolute peak of feeling alive
Rule #2 just changed my whole perspective of myself. As a kid I was always called to be smart but lazy because of school. And now it makes sense to me I always see myself as smart but many times I call myself lazy for the smallest of things. But when I put some thought into it I'm not lazy, not at all. I work 9 hrs, go to the gym eat healthy and am always productive. I wouldn't call myself lazy in terms of school because I just have no interest and don't find useful some of the classes so I don't bother. Thanks Hamza.
I had the great pleasure of attending Jordan Peterson's show a couple of days ago, and must I say it will be something I'll never forget. Dubbed as a hero for lonely adolescent men, it was surprising and yet optimistic to see that the crowd consisted of people from all walks of life. Old, young, black, white, rich, poor. Goes ti show you the profound effect that Peterson has. Thank you for this review summary, Hamza. I know this video will change many lives and I highly reccommend seeing Peterson in person ❤️
This video made me realize how lucky I was to have a masculine father raise me. He didn't say I had to be home by six or seven or whatever so I used to often ride my bike in the dark. One day I fell really badly and hurt my knee and had to walk me and my bike home. Once I got home I was feeling hurt and when he saw me like this he asked if I fell and I answered yes. He told me to wash up and come for dinner and since then I haven't ever stopped an activity because of something. I just stopped doing an activity in a certain way for example riding very fast on a narrow road while cars are there.
The 12th rule. Like a month ago, I actually had a fear of petting any animal because my dad got attacked by one while doing it (he still pets tho he didn't stop). But I couldn't pet any cat because I thought they would attack and I had to go to doctor etc. One time I built up the courage and actually pet a cat that always was around our house, and it felt amazing. Nowadays I just pet any cat I see and it actually feels amazing.

12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B Peterson Summary - • Stand up straight with your shoulders back • Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping • Make friends with people who want the best for you • Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today • Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them • Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world • Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient) • Tell the truth--or, at least, don't lie • Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don't • Be precise in your speech • Do not bother children when they are skateboarding • Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street. I hope this summary helps . Cheers guys. We are on our way to become a Jack of All Trades.
My daily routine: wake up early as hell. 4am Hunt down the wild might boar 4:30am go to school. 8:20am come home 2:10pm make food. 2:10pm 40 min process. go to the gym. 3:10pm come home 5:45pm eat food 5:50pm Work on anything that you need to work on. 6:10pm Go to bed at 8pm *repeat* (I do have some cheat days on the weekend where i throw in a Netflix or two. Come on guys I’m not Adonis yet…?!)
1. Stand up straight and confidently. Present yourself well. 2. Act like your own best friend. Treat yourself well. 3. Make your own identity if your old one doesn't fit anymore. "I am an athlete" 4. Be friends with people who want the best for you. 5. Competition, not comparison. Compete with yourself if you have to. 6. Girls are not your friends, it's a different type of relationship. 7. At least don't lie.
Might be the most useful video I've watched in a while. Thank you Hamza! Many people don't have the ability to buy the book so we are grateful for this video
I borrowed this book but didn’t have the time to get past chapter one. Had to return it by the time I could get around to reading it so this video is pretty damn convenient
Everything this man said in Rule--11, literally all words were applicable on me. I feel a bit low and left behind. But, I'll rise up and Push myself. I'll take responsibility of my own life. Thanks Hamza bro.
Hamza, i'm 16 and im struggling with addiction to video games and, other things sadly. i rode my bike on an icy morning and as you would expect i fell off. i damaged my cruciate ligament and my collateral ligament. it was fairly painful yet i still walked to school which took a fair amount of pain and ill admit a couple tears. do i not ride my bike when its icy or continue despite the fear of falling and ending up on crutched again. a response would be extremely appreciated.
While I'm not Hamza, I do feel the urge to respond. If you are still injured, refrain from riding your bike anywhere that could get you too injured. Focus on rebuilding your physical health and strength by doing basic exercise that you still can (e.g walking, running, stretching), but if you are not injured, understand that all physical circumstances and actions (that require any amount of skill or risk) will be dangerous. Even just walking and running has a risk of injury, even lifting has a risk of injury, even calisthenics has a risk of injury, and of course, bike riding has a great danger present within it at all times. I would weigh 2 options: Do you want to continue riding, in spite of the risk? Do you enjoy bike riding? Or do you wish to eliminate the risk entirely? If you wish to continue riding, consider practicing your riding skills near cold areas, or ride in safer areas.
Video game addiction will ruin your life and will progressively get worse if you don't take any steps to limit them. I wasted my teenage years and early 20s on playing video games rather than experiencing life and it put me behind as well as made me really lonely. Please don't repeat my mistakes.
If read the book too, and I think on rule number 7 he means something much more fundamental. It’s not only about pursuing something that’s meaningful for you personally like a job or something. It’s more about adopting a life philosophy whose highest ideal is to strive for the good and fight the evil in this world in some sens. It’s about being a good Human who stands by his ideals and lives by them. And resists the temptation of the Evil, the quick gratification, … . And through that achieves a much deeper meaning and fulfillment in life. Certainly a good job or the pursuit of the own interests is great but it’s only a part of what he meant and the whole self-optimization thing
I read the book a couple of months ago. My favourite rule, the one that really stuck with me, was rule number 8: ”Tell the truth, or at least don’t lie.”. What hamza failed to bring up on this point is that most of your lies are actions. In the moment, you always know when you make these small lies to yourself, for example: ”it doesnt matter if i watch one more video.”. These small lies may seem insignificant, but after a while they add up. Trust me. Be honest with yourself, in every little small decision in life, and you will progress faster than ever.
“Don’t underestimate the power of vision and direction. These are irresistible forces, able to transform what might appear to be unconquerable obstacles into traversable pathways and expanding opportunities.” ~ - Jordan B. as hard as it was to hear you say things you have your right on soo many points know I'm on a mission of self-improvement becoz of spending 5 days watching your video shows , it was the wake up call i needed thank you
To mold, one must be put through trials by fire To form, one must be impacted through sheer brute force To cut, one must be sharpened endlessly From a harmless solid to a dangerous weapon, there is no easy path to be a man without hardships along the way
I saw the video when it came out and it made me take an interest in the book. Now here I am with my notes and quotes listening to Hamzas view on the chapters and comparing if I had similar ideas or where something can be interpreted in other ways. These Reviews are awesome because you don't often k ow someone who also reads these self improvement books and can state his oppinion on them
I literally started properly reading and indulging ing this (as I like to call)“the manuscript of becoming more masculine” and was on a journey to becoming more stronger, understanding and more smart. This book was and still is a lifesaver. I am now closer and happier with the great people that I am surrounded by. These people are supporting me more than ever, they see me as a light, a light to hope of becoming better and it is all thanks to you and other masculinity influencers like Jordan B. Peterson, Andrew Tate and Iman

If you're talking to someone you consider to be a degenerate, and you know this for sure, then analyze them and try and understand why they are that way.
I'd love to see an interview or call with Jordan Peterson. Along with you, he's my role model.
To anyone in a dark hole,
All it takes is one small change to get your momentum going.
Sincerely,
Someone who was stuck in a dark hole twice and made it out

“Don’t let your kids do anything that makes you dislike them” also has to do with resentment I believe. When you allow your kids to act in a way that creates resentment, you are allowing them to put a strain on your relationship, and you will begin to act towards them out of anger instead of level headedness
this video was full of absolute gems, especially that second rule. keep up the good work boys
I read this book on December of last year and decided that for 2022 I would focus solely on one rule per month (January - stand up straight... etc). I think it's a great way of implementing every rule and actually making it a habit. Thanks for the video Hamza, regards from Spain
That's a great idea and plan!!

How much did you change? How much improved yourself?

I did that for a whole year or 2
@@kevinsaysyuh I can join the gym already, problem is getting the membership itself.

“The beliefs that you have about yourself, largely make up your life” - Hamza
Damn, that quote really hit me.
Nursing school might be hard, but when I was completely honest with myself, I realize…
ITS WORTH THE SACRIFICE!
Hamza has just arrived at dubai and already the first thing he's doing is work. You're the best leader of this generation fr
I recently found this book on my bookshelf and started reading it out of boredom. Only a few days later Hamza releases this video.

I work 9 hrs, go to the gym eat healthy and am always productive. I wouldn't call myself lazy in terms of school because I just have no interest and don't find useful some of the classes so I don't bother. Thanks Hamza.

Trust me.
Be honest with yourself, in every little small decision in life, and you will progress faster than ever.
were can i get it?
Thank you
