one thing that you didnt mention that may trip up some new players, to get the light into heavy, you have to delay the heavy ever so slightly so that the auto combo from the light doesn't continue. I know this stuff is common sense to us but some newer players might be really confused by this.

      Thanks for mentioning that!

Thank you so much for mentioning this. The animation looks so similar I had no idea what I was doing wrong until I read this lol.

I play djeeta and I normally do 2 Medium hits after EX quarter circle back and was very confused on why players like gamera did L into Heavy, this video helped me gain access to a lot of djeeta's neutral/combo tools and did a really good job explaining them, thanks for the video!

I've been using c.L c.H in my combos with her after watching enough of Gamera's Djeeta, but I usually used it at the end of a combo after EX DP for plus frames.
Using it earlier in the combo has made it waaaay easier to get the right height from EX DP (I was using 2U to get the proper height instead but it does less damage).
Hell I've even gotten a 9860 damage combo but with a different, slightly harder route. This guide is really great because I'm familiar with every important detail but am still able to optimize for practicality/consistency from it. Cheers bro.

Rewatching the video, in the basic 5L, 5H, H DP juggle, what do you do after if you have no meter? Like, what's a good ender in that case? I'm pretty sure you only show 5M into U DP / Super

you could do a 3 hit medium auto combo as alternative, and you will still get pressure afterwards.

Nice video! I'll make sure to learn those corner optimals.
I think the only thing this video really needs is midscreen max damage stuff to close out the rounds, but with Djeeta You can't really do much anyway other than RS 5H a bunch of times ig haha

Yea, mid screen stuff is basically "normal into H rekka", and if you get them to the wall you can get decent damage. Otherwise you are just doing basic pressure on their wake up.

hello actual fighting game noob here but when i was trying to do EX dp into a medium to super without the prior combos in the training room, the medium won't connect after the whole animation of dp. im also making sure im close proximity but the medium just won't connect

im having the conclusion that this was updated already, because when i watch djeeta replays they end the combo with EX DP, correct me if im wrong.

Maybe you missed it, but in the video at 2:40 i talk about that specifically. Basically to get the medium after EX DP you need to do a specific combo when the enemy is airbourne from your rekka.
For example combo starts with EX rekka, NOW when they are airbourne you do close Light into Close heavy (make sure to delay the hits a bit to not get the auto combo) and then you do EX DP and after that the medium should connect with proper timing.

@@king_lvr oh so it's because of my L to H? okay! also, which character do you recommend if I get the tired of djeeta?
im trying not to follow the meta as much possible for I am still learning the fundamentals of the game or fighting games itself...

@@fabbae215 honestly I'd pick the character I like, which in my case is djeeta and katalina. Zeta is also a really good character to learn because she is very strong and relies on fighting game fundamentals for opening people up.

Random question but should I be approaching neutral like street fighter? This is only second fighting game after managing to get to diamond from iron in sf6

neutral is usually the hardest part of each fighting game to teach, I'd say this game is a lot like street fighter 6 in particular. 66L or dash light is really good and it's kind of like raw drive rush in neutral. Jumping is even worse in granblue cause anti airs can lead to 40 50% combos really easily.
In short, yes you should be fine if you approach neutral like street fighter, however it's very easy to put someone in a blockstring in this game without any resources.

People say that Djeeta and Gran are basically the same character, but I seriously feel like you need to put much more effort into Djeeta's combos, and usually for less damage.

the trade off is a bit of damage for more wall carry, she can get the enemy to the corner pretty fast. They are both all rounder characters so the playstyle is kind of same-ish.
