Thank you dude, these are the types of guide im always on the lookout for, knowing and understanding the gameplan is much more important than the classic "do these combos"
This is a very insightful video, I think you gave me the best way of approaching her gameplan out of any video I saw so far. Also, I think it is very important to give tools like her safejump after a throw and this insane stance meaty one because it give some basic tools for new player to focus on and use as a corner stone on their thinking.
This video is super helpful for someone coming from a platform fighter like me who is learning a traditional fighting game for the first time and doesn't understand how pressure and "turns" work. Thank you so much for this guide!
I've been playing Yuel for a good while now, recently hit masters. Some of these things you kind of intrinsically learn as someone who just wants to play their game all the time every time. But it's so nice to hear it out loud, makes me think harder about the traps I'm employing rather than unga-bunga. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I had a decent understanding of her buttons and some of her combos but, was unclear on what her general "plan of attack" was. Will sub and keep an eye for more Yuel/GBVRS guides!
Yuel is so amazing, the frame traps and turn stealing that she haves works very well with me since I'm not that respectful (kinda of a bad habit of me trying to steal turns), I played a lot of characters since Granblue Vanilla but I always come back to Yuel because of these reasons, plus she's cute and fun to play, I've been trying to master her too, S++ at this moment, eventually I'll get there.
Yea she's crazy fun. This usually isn't a play style I naturally gravitate towards but her kit is just built around it so well that I was having way too much fun just learning her at first haha
I really appreciate your content, I feel like most fighting game tutorial content is kinda samey and bad, they mostly just teach optimal combos and maybe setups after optimal combos, but those are like the least important things you need when learning a new character. They never talk about how to play neutral, how to condition your oponent and the general gameplan with said character. I'll problably try Yeul with the help of your guide now, even tho rushdown is not really my forte at all you just showed me a very simple and effective gameplan that kinda loops in on itself, so I feel like even I can have some results with her now.
Appreciate it! I wouldn't call that kind of content bad, but I agree that many guides will just go over things that aren't too difficult to find out on your own, but often don't help you actually feel like you have a good gameplan with a character which I what I try to do!
very happy to have this guide thank you! the more matches i played the more i realized things i learned from vanilla don't always translate the same, and how much i have to adapt to the new mechanics. i don't normally play rushdown either i main guile in sf and aoi in vf... but yuel has a really interesting kit compared to other rushdown charas i've tried. getting people with stance is instant dopamine hit
I'm getting into Granblue and started with Zeta but I think this character suits me a bit more coming from Cammy SF6 which I played for a few weeks on Modern. Nice guide, will come back to it when I have some time to play
ok so this video actually helped me finally understand not just yuel but GBVS as a whole. my only other experience with fighting games is GGST (floor 8 testament) and i realized i was failing to adapt the GBVS' slower pace, shorter turns and neutral heavy gameplans. pressure in this game doesn't mean dishing out 5 second long blockstrings and telling my opponent to eat this mix when no string is more than like 2 seconds and my character ain't got no mix. it's all about spacing and pacing your moves. i got all that from your explanation of yuel's 2M. i was getting my ass kicked in B5 before but immediately after this video i got to B2 with a single win streak. so thanks for that.
Haha glad I could help! Definitely hard going from one fighting game to the next as it gets so hard to realize how differently you need to play, but overall I think it helps you get a better understanding as a whole as you get used to different games. Good luck in the climb!
Thank you, being new to Yuel and FG in general this was really awesome, really helped me to go up (only at C now but still), ngl I would love to see the long video if possible, please.
Amazing explanation! Just started playing this game and was having fun with Yuel, but I have been struggling to understand her strength. Thank you for making this video. It would be really helpful if you would do some analyses using real gameplay in the future, would really appreciate that :)
Goat making Granblue content!? Recently got into this game because of a friend. Would love to see some general guides as well as maybe some content around Narmaya cause she's my main. Game is so much fun
@@MikeyDLuffy Haha that's funny cause it was the reverse for me. I was thinking about maining Yuel but ended up maining Narmaya. Both characters are really cool
You might already know this, but throws can punish Yuel if she commits to chaining normals into fox flame. I guess that's part of the mind game but I was bummed to find that out.
Yea it is a bit unfortunate but commiting to mashing throw in this game is a bit risky so if it's something we catch on to we can get a big punish. That seems like the story of Yuel as a whole haha. Lots of counterplay for these situations on both ends
I would love to watch you play sessions with Yuel and talking about your thought process, maybe analyzing them. Did you start streaming and making Yuel/GBVSR videos?
I would love to know how to steal a turn from a Narmaya who instead of mashing a button is using their counter. I tend to struggle into that when I’m putting out pressure. It may be due to me not frame trapping and adjusting but I’d love to see more Yuel content my man! Love this character
Rewatching this but have u ever considered doing a matchup guide? Doubt its worth your effort since a lot of people seem to not watch stuff like that hut if you have a resource or already wanted to make one it would be sick
Amazing video, thank you ! I'm fed up of those combos videos teaching you nothing but Guitar Hero. I like having a better understanding to why I'm doing what I'm doing. I'd have a question. What if your opponent delay buttons in the frame traps ? I faced a guy, he was always blocking, and whenever I was walking up to grab, he was pressing at good timing. I guess I'd need to press a button catching his startup ? Which one ? A comprehensive anti turtling guide would be awesome ! Also, what to do if somebody spot dodges the auto combo 22L / 22M mind game, or spot dodges the 214H ? Is the move slow enough for them to react to your move and spot dodges after you can't U stance anymore ? So if they are good, the 214H is quite useless, no ? Thx.
OK. I really liked this guide, but can you please put a disclaimer that 214U is NOT actually a neutral skip? I feel like this is REALLY important to clarify, if that's alright for you to do.
Hopefully starting Friday! Been a bit busy today and work all day tomorrow. After that I want to try to stream this game consistently. Super addicted to it right now haha
a frame trap is where you intentionally leave a gap between two moves while the opponent is blocking, for example blocked close light (cL) into close heavy (cH). With frame traps, the gap is smaller than the startup time of the opponents fastest move, usually 5 frames in granblue, so if the enemy chooses to press any button that isnt invincible they will be counter hit by the second move. Plus and minus refers to the advantage on block of a move. Plus means that the attacker can move before the defender after the defender blocked the move. Minus means the defender gets to move before the attacker, and even means both can move at the exact same time. Its measured in frames, like everything to do with moves in fighting games. 66L is the numpad notation for dash light. The numbers refer to the stick inputs, and the letter is the button you press (L, M, H, U). Direction is based on number pads, so 5 is neutral since its the middle, 2 is down, 6 is forward etc.
I wish more people would talk about pressure game/approach, ty for the video!

Haha agreed. She feels very satisfying to play because you have so many opportunities to just call out your opponent.
I'm getting into Granblue and started with Zeta but I think this character suits me a bit more coming from Cammy SF6 which I played for a few weeks on Modern. Nice guide, will come back to it when I have some time to play

Such a cool video ! I love playing Yuel and these resources are so precious because I feel like she's underappreciated. Thank you very much !
Agreed! She feels great
thank you, this will help for me for picking up yuel! a long guide would be awesome too
Was literally thinking the same stuff yesterday and now this? I'm all for a super long video!
Excellent guide thank you! I'd watch a longer guide as well, or any other character guides you make.
AYO GRANBLUE CONTENT!!! Would love matchup / general character guides!
Haha this game is so addicting, definitely more content to come!
Thx for the guide my guy, I actually use narm but have yuel as a sub and I kinda felt a bit lost with how I play her, this helped a lot!
Glad it helped. Funny enough I've been learning Narmaya as a secondary haha
@@MikeyDLuffy that's awesome
great and I mean GREAT video my guy. This was one of the most informative guides i've seen. definetly got a sub

Please do a longer video. Your style of tips helped me a lot
Planning on swapping to Yuel once I get 100 matches with Anila, so I'd love to see a super long guide!
Awesome video, helped level up my game a lot!

stealing turns sounds very funny, I'll try out yuel

sick video, a long guide would be dope
would love a longer video, also what is your stream link? I couldn't find it when I looked your YT name up
It's MikeyD_Luffy on twitch. Completely forgot to add it in the description 😅
no worries man, thanks for the speedy reply, lookin forward to future gbvsr content from you@@MikeyDLuffy
I believe some of her frametraps don't work against grabs (I believe cL cH?) Because she moves foward and her cH is a bit slower than others.
Yeah that's true! I forgot to mention it but it's a good call out. To be safer you can do cL to cM which will beat mash throw.
I want long video! Amazing guide
Amazing vid thanks! Would love the long version. Can you link your twitch somewhere please?
Thanks for the video
Ah yes. Arksys hinting at that Nier collab with that Djeeta color.

What is your twitch channel ? :)
Im using this video to counter yuel!
Is Yuel a similar character as Cammy? I’m a Cammy main looking for a character who plays similar to her.
Kind of similar in that they are both quick, good at mid range and good at pressuring, but they go about it really differently
@@MikeyDLuffy Thanks, I’ll try her out then. Her stance seems intimidating but fun.
hey great guide man, i main yuel too, us fellow feet guys stick together!
Why ya gotta make it weird
Am I late to request the super long video?
A longer video would be great. There's not much quality Yuel content out there.
fck yea xenoblade music

Rather than a long video you could do game analysis.
