Right so watching your vid has moved my thoughts from “yeah I could do that”…..to “nope, garage”. Thank you though, saved me a lot of time!!!! Keep up the good work 😊
I would like give you 1000 thanks for your video. I replaced driver lock on my daughter C180 thanks to you. I've put plastic screw in rivets in place the one I drilled out at the end due to fact I had to use used lock. New on here in Ireland is only available via Mercedes dealership and with 300 euros is hard pass.
I,m doing one today, almost finish so far 1.5 hour and probably another 1.5 hour to go. Mercedes gives only 1.3 hour to do this job....only on lala land as you know. I did wach your video for guidance and found it very helpful . Thanks!!
This was very helpful for me replacing my lock actuator on my GLK 350. Essentially everything was the same. It is just a pain to have to buy a big rivet gun for reassembly. Thanks very much for posting the video.
1:30 plastic rivet removing- 1) pull out central blocker 2) turn central blocker 90° 3) push blocker back to the rivet (Turned 90°) 4) remove whole plastic rivet easy without break that.
Just replaced my door actuator, a few tips: -- No need to remove the window motor. -- the square clip 1:25, after pulling out the plug using a plier, turn the plug 90 degree and RE -INSERT it. then the whole clip comes out in one piece. -- After removing glass, leave the glass holders in the middle of the door.
This was one of the toughest things I’ve done. It took me twice to get it right. I used screws in place of the rivets. Nuts and bolts to holt the lock mechanism in place. I never did get the wire up to the door handle. No light. I used superglue where clips broke. In all, I spent about 8 hours on this. Horrible job. I’ll pay next time. However, this video saved my butt and for that, thanks so much for making it.
1:32 you do it wrong, you maybe damage it *(like you do) 1.Pull the clip 2. Turn the clip 90 degree! 3. stick it back in, it will open the internal locks! 4. pull the complete part by pullig on the clip again. Done
When removing the 'fastening clip' (1st one removed, top left corner), the case has 2 metal clips, the lower 'single tongue' clip and the upper 'split-tongue' clip. Use a small flat head screw driver to ease the lower clip up and the upper clip down to clear the case off and easily ease (gentle prying) the case out without braking. DO NOT pry it off so it will not break as done by the presenter. Thank you.
Hi my door on my c class has locked it self shut i cant open it even tried plugging computer into it still no luck any other way i could get the door opeen ?
Hello my 2010 C350 w204 the driver side power door lock don't work. Which wires for power ( color code) to disconnect it. And if I use the key to open the door instead. SInce I have keyless Entry and can open/lock by the key fob. Will the Mercedes computer will keep drain my battery since the door lock is not work. And don't go to sleep mode and try to send power to close it.
I have to pull my handle from the inside to pop the lock. it snapped I replaced the chrome handle but want it to work as is should is this what I need to change .
Mercedes used to use bolts and nuts back in the 80s at least but went to rivets at some point. What a pain in the ass. The center stem of those rivets should be punched out with a center punch or your drill bit can wander and end up enlarging the hole it is in which makes new rivets not hold well. I know this from experience.
What were Mercedes thinking with this absolute PITA? Awful job, guess I'll be paying Mercedes £500 to sort out what appears to be an extremely common problem! Absolutely shameful from a supposed "premium" brand. Swore by BMW prior to this car and needless to say, I'll be going back.

Why couldn't they use screws instead of rivets to construct the door panel?

@@velocity211 Which size rivnuts did you use please?

MY MERCEDES C 300 REFUSES TO CLOSE THE DOOR NOR LOCK THE DOOR,WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?
Nice Video. How to replace the drilled rivets?
Does the GLK 350 2010 also have the riveted panel?
SKANDaR0875 put new rivets in
Screw the rivets (no pun intended)! : )
Replace them using screws/bolts & nuts & also use loctite.
Just replace with sheet metal screws.
Merci

Wow how complicated lol man I hate my life lol
Cheap ass rivets!... talk about cost cutting! All Japanese / Korean cars use plastic insert and self tap screw 👍
