Excellent content! I usually add the injector cleaner a tank of fuel prior to changing the sparkplugs. Back in the day before they added detergents to fuel, the injector cleaner use to leave deposits on the sparkplugs and cause the engine to operate poorly I hope the cleaner has gotten better, but this my procedure from past experiences. Awesome video on servicing a preowned vehicle.
I currently have a 2016 Tacoma SR5 as my work truck. I keep it pretty clean. It is black as well. I think its the best color, very hard to keep clean though. Not a good color for off roading.
@@ChloeKuo When you do get around to it, remember this: there are 2 versions of the 2nd gen Tacoma. The 2005-2011 has slightly different headlights and grill, and a different steering wheel. 2012-15 has the updated front end, new head unit and steering wheel, backup camera, and more option packages
Are you going to change the front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission fluid too? I’ve Always had these fluid changes every 30K miles on every vehicle I’ve ever owned. I suppose that’s why I’ve never had any problems with these things.
Please keep it all stock. Their great trucks that last. The more MODs, the more issues to deal with. What year did toyota started making their trucks in Mexico? 😮
I used to have 2017 Tacoma TRD premium package and loved it.the local dealer offered me to much for it and I sold it! And purchesed a 2023 Colorado zr2 and had brake issues and got rid of it and now I got a 2024 pro tundra, love it will never own another GM product ever again there junk
I bought a 2017 used in 2018. Changing the spark plugs and PCV were two of the hardest maintenance items I've had to do. The areas are so tight, but can be done. Just be prepared to bust a knuckle or two. Thanks Chole for putting out your videos!!
Good starting point! Don’t forget to flush your other fluids, especially your engine coolant. Replace the radiator cap since the plastic end tends to break off and finds its way into your radiator. I’ve seen this in our shop and it causes havoc for vehicle owners (engine overheating, blocked radiator,)
I don’t know anyone else, on all my Honda vehicles, I change the spark plugs at 100K miles. Again, I drive mostly in normal conditions ! I have a 2023 TRD off road and don’t need spark plugs yet!😊
My 2018 off-road came stock with a windshield GoPro mount. But I gotta tell ya, that sucker gets SO hot when you’ve got a little sun beating down on it. And I’m convinced that heat is the silent killer for any GoPro. But I’m glad I have it, I’ve got an awesome video slamming into a vulture.
Question... you said it treats up to 21 GA however, you continued on to state the tank was near empty... is this something you should add with approximately 21 GA or do you run it concentrated with low fuel like you're doing here?
19:44 I’ve always used anti seize on my plug changes across 4 different Toyota models from 2003 to 2019. I’ve never had issues in performance or subsequent plug changes.
Great video, you make it look easy. Please scoot those wood clamps up a little bit. You’re going to burn the house down if they ground out on those outlets.
I appreciate all the information you give us regarding the Tacomas it helps us a lot. I also think I’ve developed a crush on you through out the years. Lol great video 😊
Very fortunate to find a taco is such good shape(all tho not an Offroad) Does anyone sell an aftermarket inline fuel filter kit for these trucks. For some reason the automakers seem to think new trucks don't need a fuel filter,
When I got my 17 Tacoma I thought the GoPro mount was cool, but I didn’t really care to put a GoPro there, but I tried to find out if I could put a dash cam there. This video was the only 1 I could find that tells you what dash cam to use for that. It’s not the best dash cam, but it still works. th-cam.com/video/WDe52BrCzlU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=apHihoYxYCNW-BW2
Hi Chloe. I have a 22 TRD sport that I really like except for a few things. I have a k&n filter and a air accelerator that I just had put in. It has really helped clean up the lag and it helps with the mpg. I get over 30 mpg. I really like alot of the upgrades on the 24 model but if I can't get a good deal, I have no problem walking. I figured that if it's good enough for alkida and the taliban, it's good enough for me. I like your you tube, you go girl, you are the woman. @@ChloeKuo
I used to have a 2017 ZR2 Colorado and loved it. The local dealer offered me too much money for it, so I sold it. I bought a new 2022 Tacoma Off-Road premium 4X4 and hated the brakes on it and always had brake issues. I now have a 2024 AT4X Canyon.
My 2019 Tacoma had subpar braking performance at highway speeds. Complained numerous times. Unresolved. Supposedly didn’t qualify for the brake booster recall. One of many unresolved issues with QDR. Unloading it was the best thing I ever did. Never again.
Not to be a jerk but you went from good, to better, to worse lol Toyota is best for trucks and beyond… on the other hand the new model Toyota don’t count lol they are trash and that’s coming from a 2019 3rd Gen Tacoma owner

This is gonna be sick! Please be detailed with the build vids. When you said FLEX - DAMN! Excited for your series.
Any used car it should be assumed that no maintenance has ever been performed. Every and all fluids shoild be changed
hi. are you a professional mechanic buying fixing selling tacomas? curious as you have various tacomas every time.
Chloe, thanks for getting another 3rd gen taco I have a 2019 sport .Icant wait to see what your new mods r love you Miss Chilo.❤

The vinyl was not removed. My black off-road came with no vinyl.
Have you ever done a project based on the 2nd gen Tacoma?
I have too many unfinished projects on my hand but I would LOVE to 😍

Both have the same engine options though. The 2.7L 4 cylinder, and the 4.0L V6
I just bought a 2017 Tacoma TRD off road with 125k+ miles. this video is great for me, thank you
How much?
Probably $30k
Congrats on your new truck!!!! 🎉
That's so awesome Chloe 👍. You got a new project! ♥️🌮🐕🐾
Hi Chile, How much you paid for the truck thank you
Nice clean truck. What was the purchase price?
Just bought a 2017 SR5 can’t wait to see more videos on the black sport with 83000 miles

Toyota Tacoma base model 2014 takes 5.1 quarts. I like the box havoline but it's 1quart more than I need.

It’s tight in there, especially on the driver’s side!
Did you flush the cooling system by any chance?
I’m looking to do an oil change. What’s the difference between havoline DS vs havoline RS?
YAY!! New projects 👍 THANKS, Chloe 🙃🙂

My Dad has that GoPro mount on his 2017 SR 4x2 DCSB 4-cylinder Tacoma
I use a dab of anti-seize on the plugs too :)
Hard to beat that havoline oil at Walmart. 6 quarts of synthetic for $24 I run the same stuff every 5k miles
Gen 2 Tacomas are easier to oil change
chloe so beautiful and smart
The Flex builds are so awesome I cant wait to see your build with them.
Could you list a good set of starter tools for your truck please?
Following the Gen 3 build 🤘
She done well, I always have oil all up my forearms and spots on my clothes

Very clean Toyota Tacoma Chloe, I wish my Gen1 Nissan Titan 5.6.XE 285/70/17, was this clean. Great 👍 job on the spark plug . Thank you

my 2020 trd sport in black does not have vinyl on the b pillar or door. maybe a black paint thing.
your awesome chloe.😁
When you said build did yo mean like bumpers, roof racks and lift
Why sport?
swap out the headlights and fog lights for aftermarket LEDs
Front air dam is gone.

Looking forward to the projects on this truck! And continued projects on your truck as well! They really help! Thanks!
am i the only that can never find the oil chloe uses in stock?
That doesn’t have very many miles at all for the year
pro tip wrap the u-joint with black tape to prevent binding
are you being fully honest with us?
Now your gonna have fun washing that car
youre ready to open your trD
shop
No front air dam too, doesn't that count as a mod?
My 23 SR came with that skid plate stock.
What happened to the 2024 4-runner?
How do you get the underside soooo clean?
How much did you pick that up for
@Chloe- are the spark plugs from the dealer already gapped to specs or did you have to gap them?
They are pre gapped-although it’s never a bad idea to re-check!
fire
How do you get that stupid vinyl off the door pillars?
A little heat or let it sit in the sun and a 3M rubber eraser
Hi How much you paid for ?
Great videos
👊👍
looks leveled

those wheels are from the off road trim
I think the off-roads come with 16s
