  • Today I will be throwing a medium sized vase. This vase will be thrown in two parts. First the base is thrown as thin as possible. Then let dry for a day. After the base has had time to dry a "top hat" is thrown and added to the base. This technique allows for you to make the base as light as possible and also produce a really fine tuned shape. Enjoy! Fascinating technique and extraordinary results. I also love the finished product (the picture of the decorated vases). Thanks so much.

How much clay did you use for the first vase?

Where did you find a rib with a large finger holder?

I am having some of these ribs made right now. They are scheduled to be able to ship out at the latest by mid May. I just have to get them back from the metal shop where I have been made. I will link our website below. Thank you so much for your interest. www.currywilkinsonpottery.com/shopall
