Holiday Kiln Opening #11
Here is a sneak peak at our Holiday Kiln Opening! We have a lot of beautiful pottery available this weekend Sat 10am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Next weekend on Nov. 25th at 10am we will have all of our pottery online for sale to those who cannot make it to our Kiln Opening! Thank you all for your support and we hope to see you this weekend!

Do you have a tool that’s showing you your height?
Yes there is a paint brush on a brick that points to the height of the piece. It’s covered in clay so it just looks like a clay chunk.

Wow! This looks great! How do you know the pots are done? How do you keep track?
I have pyrometers through the kiln and also cones. The cones are placed in the kiln next to pots and melt at a certain temp. Helps to be able to pinpoint certain temps at specific areas in the kiln.

How much clay did you use for the first vase?
~3.5-4lbs in the bottom and 2lbs in the top.
I know I dont know pottery but why cut off the top?
It’s a lid for other pots.

Probably around 90lbs of clay. Almost 4ft tall.
