  • This video shows how to install aftermarket stereo and keep steering wheel controls on 06-10 ridgeline without any module and save some money. I did lots of research and there's really nothing out there explaining how to, hope you enjoy the video and this helps you

This video is fantastic! It worked on my 2007 Honda Odyssey with a cheap Chinese head unit and now the steering wheel controls all function. The wire colors were different but the plugs were the same so I went by the pin numbers and it worked. I couldn't find this information anywhere else. Thanks!!

Great work Ross. My harness only had the key 2 cable and it still worked once hooked up like your video shows. Thank you.

I used the Friegromech ISO harness it connects straight to the car harness and ISO connector on the back of the radio and you don't have to do all those connections you did, and with your info I got my SWS to work thanks.

Do you remember the part number. Also did you have to solder any wires like he did ?

I used it on a 2001 Honda Accord, the only thing I had to do was to cut into one cable so I can use some of the steering wheel controls on the radio but no need to solder any wires.

Thanx man, it worked on my power acoustik, once I wired up the key 1 and 2, I found a new menu for key maping, so far only channel change and volume or track change, thinking making the "mode" mutton for calls

So I do have a good question. I bought the aftermarket wiring harness so I could just match up the colors and at least my head unit should work. But now I'm Trying to get the steering wheel controls to work. So I have your typical purples to Purples, whites to whites, Greens to greens and whites the whites. Then black to black red to red blue to blue yellow to yellow Orange to Orange And then off my stereo harness is a Orange w black wired to Orange w white. But Orange w black is Key 1 and brown is Key 2. What do I do with this ?

Good video man, few questions hopefully you can help me. What is the model number of the metra harness you got? Did your car have the navigation system in it or just the regular radio unit before you installed your new head unit? Can you still use your factory subwoofer? Thanks man!

Thank you! The OEM navigation system is no longer supported/updated so we want to move to newer systems. Do you know if this trick will work with 2013 Ridgeline? We have a 2007 and a 2013 in the household-- both RTL with navigation. I know the dash kit for both seems to be the same.

Hy, I have a Honda Ridgeline 2006. Please HELP!! could you tell me if you connect and where your connect (in case) the brown cables (Key-1 and Key-2) some people say is for steering bottoms. I have the 10.1 Hikity car stereo too. Also, did you connect and where your connect (in case) the yellow cable (Memory) from the aftermarket harness (Harmony HA-701721). Also, i understand I don't have to connect the pink/white (Dimmer) cable. Please could you let me know. THANKS. You have a great video!

It's fascinating how you think using outdated and disrespectful comments makes you look clever. All it does is highlight your lack of maturity and creativity. It's 2024-maybe it's time to grow up and learn how to interact with people respectfully.

It's almost like your brain hit pause during toddlerhood and never hit play again. The level of immaturity you're displaying is on par with a two-year-old's tantrum. It’s sad to see such a lack of development in an adult.
