I just bought a Mavic 3 pro and you are correct, a real game changer. When I zoomed in, even though it was digital, I could get 28X zoom and it was a big surprise to me. I took it out above the Columbia River on the 4th at night and got some good videos with the city in the background. I haven't been able to do much with it yet but when I do, I will be posting more videos on You Tube. Great video buddy!
I’m a huge RC And off-roading energetic and I just recently got a base Magic 3 Pro. I have to say it’s freaking awesome! Controlling it is no problem so far as I picked it up right away. But, compared to my $2k+ rc vehicles there’s so much to learn on these drones! I’m flying everyday the weather allows me to just to learn the ins and outs of it. Very happy with my purchase so far and with further updates I’m sure I’ll be even happier! Great video and rundown of the M3P!!
The biggest leap from Mavic 1 is Mavic 2 which can still compete with Mavic 3. That 10 bit and 1inch sensor changed everything. There is also HQ mode which crops in on a sensor giving you a little bit of zoom and a better quality. Mavic 3 is more like a next step after Mavic 2 breakthrough.
Liked and subscribed. Loved this Mavic 3 Pro review. The video and photos from Hawaii were epic. The verdant, sharp peak in the foreground with the fluted terrain in the background using the 7x lens sold me on this drone. Thanks for the post. I miss Hawaii. I haven’t been there since the pandemic. Great art you’ve created.
Great review - my Pro is on the way to supplement an original Cine. The 70mm lens is so important. I loved having the telephoto on the Cine, but constantly wanted to get closer with an optical lens whilst staying away from subjects.
Great video ! I've just got a gig with my Mavic 3 ( OG ), the video team asked for d-log shots from the main camera to compare with the ARRI Amira cameras. And it PASSED the test !! Very good news ( previously they used Inspire 2 ) . But the x7 camera will not be used obviously. How about the x3 ? is it closer in quality to the tele cam, or usable with the main camera ? YT clips don't do justice....Thanks.
Really good review and footage. I like your style. You add just enough fun to the video but give us some really good info too. Love your videos also. Marc T.
I've been shooting with the Mavic 3 Pro for about a week, and completely agree that the 3x/70mm equivalent is the magic of the Mavic. That ability to not just pull the background close, but to change perspective and even motion - vehicles on a distant road appear to be in slow motion, alternately, you can have the background whipping past your subject is a blur of motion. Yep, we have helicopter shots with a cinema camera in a device we can toss in that new awesome bag and throw over a shoulder.
Great video bro! Liked and subscribed! I was surprised I wasn’t subscribed to your channel because I’ve seen a few of your videos in the past. This one definitely did it for me!
Dude, i owe you an apology. I apologize for my entire channel, which is me, basically. I ordered a 3 Pro before I saw your channel and this excellent video, so I was unable to help you in an affiliate sense. But, I have learned my lesson. And if I ever get the Mavic 2 pro zoom out of the tree that caused me to replace it w/ the new 3 Pro, I shall rename it in your honor. Hey, it's something.
One drone to rule them all, except for the enterprise models. If only DJI would provide native Mapping and remove the Geo Fencing. It would then be the only drone you’d ever need.
Mavic 3 pro is superior to Air 2S and both Mavic 2's. Just a great drone, but it has more potential i think. Hope they will lift it up a bit higher with some needed firmware updates (10 bit/dlog for all 3 camera's)
Just got mine and have to send it back. On the first flight it gave me sensor error warnings. All of them. Up down back forward and side. Then it froze and didn’t want to move. I kept switching cameras and that seemed to get me out of frozen state. Luckily I made it back before battery died.
Good review, however, I feel you are not comparing apples with apples here. At $4k one would expect a decent hard case not some flimsy soft case. Then the restrictions to flying a 900gm+ drone needs more certification, and lets be honest, as much as any drone user would love to own one, about 98% of drone users do not need this level of sophistication. Personally the Classic offers more or less the same features apart from the 7x camera lends. Oh, and it can also be flown in all places!! That said I would still like one for the hell of it.
Danny dumb question! i guess you have your UAS FAA licence to fly within United States. You must go and do the test by going to a facilitie. Here is my question How is the test? Do you have somebody asking you questions or you need to make a live flight by an specific area or how it works?
The game changer is maybe for US or Australia. but not for Europe. Here the beautiful bird is 60 gramms to fat to be the "easy C1 classification". It's a C2 with all the downsides - not allowed to fly over people in any case, not be usable in cities or villages. A nice solution für landscape photo/videographer. Or people not having in mind to fly in Europe.
Beautiful footage, beautiful drone and an excellent and informative review. Man what a drone, and what a game changer with the 3 different cameras. I'm not a pro, yet, so I'll just "suffer" with my Air 2 s and Evo lite. ( I'm just kidding. I love both of them), but I can see where a real pro would really be able to get some incredible shots with this drone. Marc T.
How usable is the 7x zoom lens when filming something moving like the base jumper? I'm film a ton of kitesrufing so I'm just wondering if the 7x will be something i use, or if I should just get the 3x in the Mavic Air 3. Thanks!
As a professional who flies my drone nearly every day, having the 3x zoom is amazing! Could honestly go without the 7x zoom camera. Quality is pretty crappy, but if in ideal lighting it works and gets some cool shots. Captured some sick eagles the other day with the 7x zoom. Honestly, for what you're getting and what you can do with the drone, a little over $2k is an absolute bargain and super cheap imo. Love the drone, and I agree, the new gimbal cover sucks. I like the M3 original cover better People are always gonna complain in the comment section over dji prices and pumping out new drones.
Understand the three cameras offer 1X, 3X, and 7X, respectively. zooming up from each one to their limit (3X, 7X, 28X respectively) is then done digitally. So, if you want a sharp, lossless 7X shot, you need the third camera.
Not knowing the Classic I'll say: hardly. It has the good flying time that's one important fact. Due to personal ideas the camera in the Mavic 3 PRO made me go for it. I don't need to get that close and can let the tele lenses do some of the job instead of flying closer. Covering a running train for some 2 miles the tele lenses can do a lot. In sports mode the Mavic 3 PRO will manage to keep up with the train for most of the distance, but not all. One month without crashing? Sorry but not much of success in my standards for such costly equipment.
the only downside is the Cheap ass bag they theyre giving with m3p.... the normal mavic 3 was a wayyyyy better bag in my opinion with multiple use scenarios..
Great video! Loved all the different shots you included, illustrated the different looks possible with the new camera system perfectly. I totally agree that this is a big leap when it comes to camera drones, though I am sure there is a lot more headroom in sensor size and image quality for the tele lenses. I´ll upgrade my mini 3 pro when mavics have a 24mm backed with an APSC sensor and two zooms with 4/3 ;)
With those size sensors, the lenses / gimbal would be much larger and heavier. It would have to be a much bigger drone to carry the extra weight and still have decent battery life. Plus, big $$$$!

💯 percent and this is coming from someone that bought the mavic 3 pro cine, it was a complete waste of money. More of the same with a slightly improved 7x but it still looks too saturated to be useful. If the mavic 4 is released this fall like it’s supposed to according to past mavic release history, I’ll never be able to forgive myself 💰
@@hawaiifreespeechnews there isn’t going to be a Mavic 4 release this fall…. Why would you even think that? It took a little over 3 years from the M2P to the M3. I do agree with you though as I bought the M3 for the same $ as they have the M3P priced now all within 1 1/2 years. Pisses me off!
@@aerialphotography8363 No what pissed me off was the mavic 3 classic cheaper. Now everyone and their mom has a mavic 3 or a mini 3 pro. I thought, F it, I'm going to get the inspire 3 to stay ahead of all those F-ers, and then the reality of the 16.500k + price tag sunk in...
To be fair, DJI is the only gimbal camera drone on the market that is worth anything. Why would he not say good things and get free product. I’ll tell you how amazing it is for a free 4D and mavic 3 pro if you are listening DJI 😅
@@hawaiifreespeechnews HOw about the 70mm camera video quality ? Is it significantly better than the x7 ? I have the MAvic 3 main camera is really good, but the x7 is pretty bad, not usable for serious work.

Hey Danny. Its Dan From Hawaii - I flew you guys around in Helicopters a while ago. Great review - love your content - keep up the great work :-)
He didn't even respond to your comment. That's lame. 😢
Your 7x zoom video and photos looked great! I could see that being used for a few niche things which help film the full package. The 3X is incredible

Kudos for covering off the photography aspects of the M3Pro! It's something that is so commonly being overlooked or glossed over in every review!

There are 8 M3 platforms already. That should say everything you need to know about what the Mavic line is for, js. But nicely made video! 👍
Subscribed due to being told there would be a picture of a baby rhino… And you delivered as promised.
Beautiful colours, amazing picture quality. What a drone! 👏🏻👏🏻
Could you explain a little about why you went with RC Pro instead of regular RC?
RC Pro has better signal and longer range transmission, up to 18Km.
Could you explain a little about why you didn’t go with the M3 Pro Cine kit?

On alie you can buy the gimbal protector you want
the gimbal cover is the best and easiest of any drone ever. that sounds like user error.

Has that wideangle camera still that aweful 1,6 crop when shooting in 4K and 5.1?

Just zoom in crop zoom out get closer or further away you don't need this one
All the Mavic 3 Pro did was piss-off a lot of Mavic 3 owners that got sucked in by all the hype.

You can do all that right now with the Matrice series. It usually takes two people to fly one; one is the pilot and the other is the camera operator.
