Hey thanks.
I bought my Mini 4 Pro on Christmas 2023 and it still flies like new to this day, great drone for beginners, im looking forward to buy the Mavic 3 pro too
The Mini 4 Pro is a great drone for the size and cost, no question.
It's not a beginner drone, the 4 mini is a full featured model with a high pricetag
Thanks for the info, hope to get me one of these here soon for some epic adventures in the midwest 😎
Part 107 is not needed to fly either drone, Mini 4 pro or Mavic 3 Pro. Weight is taken in consideration for registration with FAA. The Mini 4 pro has to be registered with the Battery Plus you are using. Think you are confusing Licence Part 107 with registration.
I mentioned this in other comments. I said it wrong in the video at one point. I meant to say "you need a part 107 license if you want to fly the drone commercially."
I figured you meant to talk about registering it with the FAA and Remote ID broadcast requirements.
U sold me! I bought both 😂🤣
Glad you are doing these reviews again, love this content brother, keep them coming!
Thanks my friend. More to come.
Very good review, thank you
Thank you for your presentation.
Thanks for watching.
Great review, Thank you. I now know which one I need.
Great. Which one did you decide on?
Thank you for a really informative comparison
Glad you enjoyed it thanks.
Do you think that the mini 4 will work for real estate videography. I am just starting out and trying to keep my budget down but I dont want to compromise either.
Hello. I have just found your channel. Great video. Thank you.
Glad you found the channel. Thanks for commenting. Excited to have you here. Subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks a lot.
Great vid
Thanks so much.
Hey, I just bought the Mini 4 pro at Cardinal Camera in Lansdale. Thank you.
Awesome. They are great.
I owned the mini 2, and for the life of me I could never get a good image out of it. The mini 3 pro has a pretty good image, leaps and bounds over the mini 2. I don't remember if the mini 4 pro has d-log, but that's something I'd like to see, since it's the perfect size for a wedding filmmakers. While the mini 4 Pro can get more close to 35 to 40 minutes of battery life, that's only for the larger battery that puts it over the FAA 249g weight limit for a non-licensed operator. Those new controllers are amazing though - no more phone - just charge and go!
Yes the Mini 4 pro has d log and that’s what I use. It’s fantastic for the size and price.
@@scottmckenna D-log M to be precise.
Also HLG for more 10-bit options...
Good advice!! I'll check them out!! How do you like picture quality comparing Mavic3Pro to P4P? I still love P4P image event though this drone is 5years old :D
I hate they did away with the p4p’s mechanical shutter…. Electronic shutters almost always lose a tiny bit of dynamic range, but I will take the larger sensor over any other criteria.. praying for a x7 sized apsc sensor on the Mavic 4 . Cheers!
What's the jump difference between a Mavic 3 classic and a MINI IV pro? I have a mavic 3 classic. I've owned older gen minis.
For personal drone I would go with Mini pro 4
Agreed. Portable, and great quality in a small easy to transport device.
I immediately recognized the area where you're flying in this vid 🙂
Bethlehem for the win.
You only need a part 107 to fly recreational if it weights 55 lbs or more. So, whether or not you get your 107 isn't a determining factor unless you intend it for commercial use. (USA ONLY).
Correct. I said it wrong at one point in the video I realize. You only need a 107 if you're flying commercially. That's what I meant.
@@scottmckenna at the beggining of my Drone hobby research, I made the mistake of watching several Euro channels, which is totally different. They have to have a license for anything over 250 grams. So went and signed up for classes and my 107 exam 😛
Why would the part 107 be needed to fly drones over 249 grammes recreationally?
To fly commercially. I may have said recreationally accidentally, sorry. You need a part 107 to fly to make money.
Mini 4 Pro is really impressive ! What's your audio set up for this video ? Sounds so clean. Thx for the vid
Thanks. Just a lav mic. Countryman B3
@@scottmckenna with your Rode Wireless Pro ?

Welcome back
I didn't go anywhere, but thanks.
This was so helpful. Wish I could
Upgrade from my mini 3 pro.
Great hearing from you Dustin.
There is no need to upgrade from a Mini 3 Pro, in my opinion. It's practically the same sensor with a little more processing power behind it. Other than the obstacle avoidance, it's more of a software upgrade than anything. Dronelink is fully compatible with the Mini 3 series now, so you can do more than waypoint missions. I have used DL for a number of mapping missions of commercial rooftops within downtown of where I live. I own and use two Mini 3 Pros (along with an Air 3 & Mavic 3T) for my done business. I have done a lot of indoor drone fly through videos with them to create content for my clients to use online to show off their venue or space. The Mini 3 Pro is the most versatile drone on the market right now. It's the closest thing to what the Phantom 4 pro became all those years ago. It's not quite the same, but it's really close. At least until the SDK gets released for the Mini 4 or the Mavic 3 series (if ever).
@ClarkFamily2014 I would disagree. I think the m4 pro feels like a huge upgrade in my opinion. I’ve never been super happy with a mini but the 4 has been the best mini drone I’ve ever used.
@scottmckenna So what is it specifically with the Mini 4 Pro drone itself you feel is a huge upgrade? I have flown my brother-in-law's Mini 4 Pro and compared it to my Mini 3 Pro. The Remote RC 2 is definitely an upgrade as it boots much faster, is more responsive when going through the settings, has less lag (not that the original remote RC was that bad), and the screen didn't glitch once while I used it flying his Mini 4. The drone itself handled and flew just like my Mini 3 Pro. Climbed, accelerated, turned, banked, flew just as fast and as steady as my mine. The only way I was able to tell the difference in the footage was the white balance because I typically have my set to manual, and his Mini 4 was on auto. The waypoints, RTH path, and tracking features are all software upgrades. Now, I will admit that I didn't get a chance to try out the low light night mode feature, so that could support your argument. However, that could also be more of a software processing or enhancement the footage than an actual upgrade on the camera sensor. So other than the obstacle avoidance and the remote (and yes, I'm throwing in O4 transmision system as part of the remote), what does the Mini 4 have from a drone hardware standpoint that you feel is a big upgrade over the Mini 3 Pro? I'm not disputing that it's the best Mini drone you've flown, just that the bulk of the upgrades seem more software and firmware driven and perhaps better quality of life experience flying it. Not necessarily as big of a design upgrade the Mini 3 was over the Mini 2 when it first came out. I will say that if the SDK ever comes out for the Mini 4 Pro, I would then consider purchasing one. But I won't hold my breath. I think DJI isn't going to release SDK for any more drones, including new enterprise series. It will not surprise me if they force enterprise users to stay in their ecosystem of Terra and other software suites.
It's a great drone for the money, and finally has the quality that is usable for true professional video even with it's size. @@ClarkFamily2014
You could argue that you don't need the 3 cams that the mavic has, because you can fly closer to anything with the mini.
Potentially yes. But the cameras are better.
@@scottmckenna That's also true. In the end both drones have their target audience. The Mini 4 Pro is more for casual use and people that want to deal with laws as little as possible. The Mavic 3 on the other hand is clearly targeted to a professional use, where law usually aren't that big of a problem, because you have the required reasons to obtain permits to go closer to stuff.
Nice review comparison. Simple DJI Mini 3 Pro is mine and I love it. People should realise that while the drone can easily fit in a jacket pocket, the RC doesn’t unless you have a fisherman’s gilet/waistcoat with a huge back pocket. Anyone know what that pocket is for?😂 I have a set of ND filters of which I’ve only used a 4 and 8 , plus a wide angle lens used a handful of times .
Mini 4 pro I love it
Which controller has a clean HDMI output or USB-C output with no overlays for live-streaming or broadcasting purposes?
The DJi RC Pro
Love the jacket.
Do they ship to Boston?
Yes. They ship anywhere. Buy your gear from them, you'll save a lot of money.
@@scottmckenna Looking now. I'm switching from Cannon to Sony. Thank you for letting us know.
@Justin_Cowley great choice. Buy everything from them, it’ll save you tons of money and they’ll get it shipped same day for you.
Great review. So hard to make a decision... what is the lifetime of a drone? Will the device(mavic 3 pro) be good for at least 5 or 6yrs if used a few times a year?
The drones last a good amount of time no matter what. The question is which camera will be the best for a longer period of time, and for that, I think the M3 is probably the better choice.
Thank you for the input. As a first time buyer/user, can you use the dji app to edit the mavic pro 3 videos? Working on getting a decent PC to learn how to edit using a better application.
I have a question please help.. I bought new mini4 pro and I put sd card 256 G , but I record only 2:35 second..??? With 4k30 fps.. 🙈.. is that some thing wrong with my drone..??
Contact DJI. I'm unable to help with tech support, sorry.
Own them both
Same.
3 pro ❤
Mini 4 pro all day
Air 3 is the best in reality. Nobody mentions that plus battery on the mini 4 is bought separately and 1 at a time. And they can not handle the wind at all.
I've had no problems with the wind using it in the time I've owned it. All of them are great drones though for sure.
You forgot the stills mode
Valid point. Sorry about that. I’m a videographer more than a photographer so that doesn’t matter as much but maybe I’ll make a video on that as well.
mas um amigo passa la tambem
No comparison
Telephoto is a 1/2 inch 12 mp sensor, so may as well pretend like it’s not on the drone; it’s useless.
Definitely wouldn't say it's useless. I use it constantly and get great results.
