- Hello Guys, WELCOME to Episode 1 of 30 days in Liberia. In this episode , ill take you through my prep for the trip, baggages suggestions, airport experience, airlines experience and a few does and donts
This was really insightful! I've never encountered such problems with Southwest but every instance won't be the same. I will definitely budget for nothing less than 1st class on the international flights thanks to you. I recalled you stated you flew into NY but which Airport JFK or Laguardia? Personally I like the latter better.
Yeah we flew into LaGuardia but had to take a taxi to JFK and that’s where it’s a bit overwhelming to get through everything

@@unconsciousconscious2107 Yes as safe as most developing countries can be . There are a few places u want to avoid passed certain hours of the night however the country is safe , and people see and knows that , that’s why there are Influx of people coming and returning

I did experienced all these things you’re saying on my trip to Liberia 2019. I took my flight from Minnesota to Chicago & from Chicago to Brussels & from Brussels to Sierra Leone to Liberia. Actually all the experiences at the airports are very much crazy & it was my worst experiences I’d & worst of all many Liberians passengers things stuffs were stolen from their suitcases at the Sierra Leone airport & that was so horrible. But it was so much citing to me traveling in my country Liberia after eight years in the U.S. & one of the craziest things in Liberia is the driving, Oh my God, people don’t observed traffic rules at all but I drove throughout by God’s grace. I did really enjoyed Lib & I cant wait to make my next trip there by God’s grace. Another exciting experienced I’d in Lib is that I did used my debit card at the Exclusive Supermarket to purchased stuffs & I did used the ATM throughout. Brussels is great the food and the service are great. They make one stop in Freetown. I have been going every year for the past five years. In 2018 I went with KlLM and the service was great as well. I always get Cheaptickets directly from the airlines. I tried the ticket agent, they price is always high. I got a ticket from Brussels for $ 719:00 from February to the end of March. Even though they get to Liberia at night, but it’s better to be comfortable. Thanks for the information. 👍

Visited Liberia for the first time last year after 44 yrs and went through Brussels. It was the trip of my life. I cannot wait to see how your experience was. Eye-opening to say the least.

How was it? Do you think you would want to move back permanently?
I flew with Brussels when I went to Liberia the vegetarian meal option on my plane was actually good and didn't have any problems at the airport with questions and stuff and I'm American.. The only thing I would have done differently is have one of my suitcases empty or almost empty so I could bring more things back home from Liberia.

Thank you for the information because I'll be going to LIB very soon 🙏🏾 It's very helpful. But I have a question about wrapping the suitcases. Does Minneapolis airport wrap your suitcases for you? I also heard that if you wrap your suitcases, they'll unwrap it at the check-in 😩🤦🏾♀️ Any suggestions???

I don’t think so , however you’ll most likely be going through New York , that’s where they wrap it .
When the bags are wrap they do not unwrap it cuz it’s not a carry on , you’ll be checking in it ...

Yeah the airport is really big and beautiful however that’s mainly upstairs, departure and the lounge area . When u arrives u go to that part which is portion of the older airport, that part is still there .. that’s where Covid testing process is

When I do travel I just pay $200 and ship a barrel with my things and will only carry last minute suff to eliminate the stress of bags

@@liberia-totheworld9628 AirFrance ticket is pretty cheap but thanks for the tip will definitely be looking at other airlines or options for comfort. I saw ticket for $765 frm JFK to LIB the other day with air France that is why they were probably over crowded
@@journeywithjoy92 yeah ... if u can’t deal with the leg room issue and packed plane it’s a great way to save money , other then that maybe pay a little more on other flights to get bit more comfort like u said

@@unconsciousconscious2107 from my experience Liberia is safe. There are certain areas I wouldn't go at night or even during the day with money or expensive jewelry or flashing my phone, but the same goes for the US or Minnesota to be precise ( I wouldn't go certain places and feel safe)

We weren’t quarantined when we got back , we had to do covid test and get negative before coming back

@@gabrielledennis4103 you can take Delta/United to Ghana than Kenya airway to lib. I prefer that route cause it’s shorter than going through Europe.
