This entire vibe is literally what I thought when I first heard YOLO. "You Only Live Once? So like, you should make sure not to do something stupid and screw it up, huh? No redos."
I can easily describe Lonely Island in just three words: musical absurdist humor. They take a humorous concept and stretch it as far as they possibly can, in song.
That was my first thought. I used to post that video as a comment when one of my friends (usually male) made a not so subtle Facebook update. Reactions from the OPs were... mixed. 🤣
I kinda want a Kendrick Lamar album where it's all raps about 401ks, mortgages, investing properly, RRSPs...you know, the stuff they didn't teach in school
This is the song I laugh the hardest about, every Single TIME! The SUBLIME REVERSAL of YOLO as a battle cry for people doing insane things into completely DIFFERENT insanity!!
A suggestion that I haven't seen yet is Lazy Sunday. I am always surprised at the extent of their library. I am really enjoying your trip in the lonely island.
I define Lonely Island as a group of guys that can produce quality sounding music but they make it with humor because they can. If they would use "actual" lyrics with the quality of the rest of the music and with right artists they could have made hits. This is the video where it all started, please react to Lazy Sunday - SNL Digital Short.
They are probably making the same point as I've felt that using YOLO to motivate dangerous actions is so illogical (stupid) as most actions aren't a once in a lifetime opportunities.
Lonely Island's "We're Back" is an absolute banger! And also one of their weirder songs, too. But it hypes you up regardless to the lyrics. Can't wait for you to react to it. If you're not feeling up for the mortification, then "Jizz in my Pants" is a pretty funny one. That, and "Great Day" are tamer, but all three are definitely worth a reaction to.
The point of this song are "if you fear everything why you need to lives?" My country have a ton of sarcastic word in daily life . It's not hard to understand what does them need to say. That why this song are amazing. It's not YOLO we know but different this is next level of a song.
I'm sure everyone is suggesting all their most popular songs, but if I may I'd like to add that you should react to their song Incredibad. Not many reactors have done that one and it definitely gets a strong reaction.
Can't wait for "like a boss" Lol Also I've seen you do some non-music reviews. You should check out Julian Smith "Malk". Julian does short comedy skits that really hit my weird sense of humor you should check him out!
Every time I think of YOLO. I remember a picture I saw online. It was someone's post on Twitter or whatever, saying they were drunk and doing 100 and something MPH. "YOLO" It was spliced with a news story about someone dying in a crash. It was the same person. 🙄
What you describe with grinding teeth down isn't veneers, that's how crowns are done. And it's not just for Hollywood or people going for 'perfect' teeth. I have crowns, because I just genetically have extremely porous teeth and my dental situation was constant agony and cavities after cavities then root canals and all kinds of trouble. I got my teeth crowned (over like a 10 year period, and it was very expensive) and since that was finished, every single dental appointment now is just 'everything is perfect, keep flossing'. Worth it.
Danny McBride taking the "nose sugar" to the face was pretty funny lol. Also I gained respect for Levine for doing this. Already had some for Lamar. There has been some absolutely ridiculous ways people died in history and I kinda wished they did more of a parody of them but the pajamas strangling you in your sleep is one.
If I had to define Lonely Island to someone who's never heard them before? I would say that they are a comedic music group that use satirical lyrics to lampoon popular music by using exaggerated or opposite themes. I don't think they're trying to send a message or be malicious, I think as comedians they like to point out the absurdity of some popular music by taking the exact opposite position or a over-exaggerated position.
Adam Lavine is on a song of Lil Wayne called Trust Nobody (I think that's the name) it's really good. I hope you'll check it out, I think you will find it enjoyable.
This is what I thought YOLO meant the first time I heard it. Made sense to me. If you had multiple lives, then you would have more reason to be reckless
You can not like Maroon 5 I sure as shit don't but you can't deny Levine's skills behind the mic and his writing game is crisp like ink from a ball point pen
What in the hell. I’ve been a huge lonely island fan since Chronicles of. Narnia… I’ve seen the lonely island movie multiple times but I never watch SNL. Somehow this is the only time I’ve ever seen or heard of this.
"The first 30 seconds sounded like an actual song and then they started with the weirdness"
Yeah, that's basically every Lonely Island song lol
This entire vibe is literally what I thought when I first heard YOLO.
"You Only Live Once? So like, you should make sure not to do something stupid and screw it up, huh? No redos."
That’s exactly how I have made it this far in life, avoid everything lol
Its kinda true though
I love how Lamar shows up in the middle of this crazy song and gives some actually pretty sound financial advice.
Actually…at the time that was a TERRIBLE mortgage rate, but today it would be unbelievable good. Man, eff the Fed.
@@TheAnticorporatist My mortgage rate is 3.8%, locked in literally right before the skyrocket

"I Just Had Sex ft. Akon" is an absolute CLASSIC.

I'd like to add "Jizz in my pants", "Shy Roonie" and "Natalie Raps"
Yes, that's the best one
That was my first thought. I used to post that video as a comment when one of my friends (usually male) made a not so subtle Facebook update.

Finest Girl (Bin Laden Song) by Lonely Island
Yes!!!
Double yes!!
Make it a triple.
make it a quadruple
I've listened to so much Lonely Island, so how is this the first time I'm hearing about that song?
Kiv always kills it, comes in with the authoritative voice "ease off the throttle"
Kiv is the most talented one i think. Like he could be legit.
The motto of this song is simple: You only live once, so don't die lol
Their interpretation of YOLO is as logical as the mainstream interpretation.
They make some fair points. 😂
This is the song I laugh the hardest about, every Single TIME! The SUBLIME REVERSAL of YOLO as a battle cry for people doing insane things into completely DIFFERENT insanity!!
Natalie's Rap (both 1 & 2) are soooo good
@@CoryPchajek DAMN RIGHT!
Now you're ready for "I'm so humble."
Get it.
I’m so humble by Lonely Island
Its amazing how Adam Levine can just make anything fire.

“Going Kindergarten” goes off the rails quick too. I think you’d like it
Im so glad I found your channel...you sir are hilarious!
They're a musical comedy act that base their sound and style on modern pop music and rap.
Trouble on Dookie Island , Spell it Out, and Ras Trent are the three tracks I want to see of theirs next.
They are probably making the same point as I've felt that using YOLO to motivate dangerous actions is so illogical (stupid) as most actions aren't a once in a lifetime opportunities.
I feel it was like "YOLO is a good motto, just don't be extreme with it"
Ima post again. Finally someone did their best and funniest song!! Good job!
Love all your reactions. Finest Girl is another great song of theirs.
Dude your reactions are top tier I love it!
I think you have to define Lonely Island as Anti-Pop music.
Also Semi-Colon is another pretty good song by Lonely Island.
Semi-Colon is genius
Semi-colon kills me bro
You get an F.
@@TheJimmycrakcorn" Wait? what?"

how to describe them. It takes just 1 word. Satire!
Iran so far is an underrated gem! This one and Motherlover are probably making me laugh the most!
Please do Boomox from Lonely Island , it has a great star appearance and the song is hilarious!
Interestingly, when the phrase was first coined, this is exactly the sense in which "you only live once" was meant.
Watching you react to lonely island has had me chuckling all week, I hope you do more. Bin laden song would be great

Equal rights is an AMAZING and super underrated song that I wwould love to see your reaction to it.
Boom box! Turtleneck and chain! Love ya man!
You can define Lonely island with just one word: Absurd.
Though, two words would probably be more accurate: Absurdly Hilarious.
"Oakland Nights" will blow your mind.
Two songs from The Lonely Island you might like: “Jizz in My Pants” and “I Just Had Sex” feat. Akon
