Love this video, and your explanations were spot on. I just purchased the Mini 3 Pro combo and I was having my doubts and wanted to hear from someone that had both. Happy to have found your channel and I'm definitely subscribing 😁
this have been probably over hyped with new mini 3 then. but in reality, this is how it stands: - m2p does have slo-mo in 60fps at 2.7k, - it is not that crazy loud for its size (in fact, it is less noisy then older mavic, which was smaller and lighter), specially compared to let say some phantom etc, - 48mpix comes from quadbayer sensor, which in reality, it's actually 12,m not 48mpix. there's been a lot of test done, which shows true 20mpix deliver more resolution, then just boost up 12mpix to 48. - when talking about size, iz should be considered whole package with controller, not just drone. yes, mini3 it's smaller, but controller is bulkier, so difference is not exactly that drastic, when compared to something like non foldable drones in old days. i could fit whole m2p bag with controller and 3 batteries in any backpack etc, also no problem to add this drone in any photo bag, next to lenses etc. don't get me wrong, mini3 is very nice, small and go-anywhere drone, but let's be little bit more realistic and precise, when talking about technical differences etc.
Thanks for watching! The most important factor for me is the fact that it’s more convenient, I find whatever is more convenient for me is better, however this is situational. If I’m being paid for a gig, I’ll use the mavic 2 and if I’m doing TH-cam and social media, which lets face it is most companies want nowadays, I’ll use the mini 3 pro, the mini 3 pro does more than any beginner will need, and for the price it’s great from anyone who’s a beginner to a professional.
I cannot agree with many things you said.. First the Go4 app actually still superior, it's way more complex to understand but once you get everything setup, you actually benefit from it. It for example let's you adjust video and image sharpening, contrast and saturation of camera overall, things you cannot do in DJI Fly. You forget to mention video and hyperlapse waypoints in Mavic 2 Pro, plus old tripod mode, which is extremely essential inside DJI fly nowadays. Great video, aside from the fact > It's very funny comparison between old prosumer tried and true drone, and new mini drone, mavic 2 pro is not meant for social media either, same as Mavic 3 it still do not have vertical shooting, because these drones like i said, not meant for SM work.
I agree, I do feel like the app for the mini is cleaner and more up to date, but needs those pro features. I was actually having this conversation yesterday with a friend, and we both agreed that if we ever got a job that’s more commercial, such as big car brands, then we would still take a mavic 2 pro/3 over the mini, but the convenience factor for the mini is the biggest thing for me. I need to be happy bringing it everywhere. But I do agree with you, the 2 pro is still more “pro” than the mini 3 pro. Thanks for watching! 💯
@@MorganWoods Nothing more to say. Agree, mini is way to go, if you travel that much. Well mini 3 pro is just a marketing term i'd say. Keep up your videos you doing a great job!
The only real feature giving credit to the “pro” name is the 10-bit colour. And that’s enough for me, although I will 10000% be needing ND filters 😂 cheers! 🙌
after just returning from a trip to new zealand, and having to keep doing shuffles with bags and clothes in order to keep my backpack with camera, a few lenses, and mavic 2 pro, smart controller and battery below the 7kg carry-on limit (spoiler alert, it wasn't possible, but luckily my partner had spare weight allowance with her bags) I am now finding myself considering picking up a mini 3 pro for trips and things where weight and size are critical. I still prefer variable aperture, and the hassleblad sensor for my photo work, but that vertical shooting mode is pretty useful in the current media consumption environment. Nice Video Morgan, much appreciated.
For me one of the big selling points is the new controller with a built-in bright screen. I'm not a fan of spending money on phones, so mine would make for a rather lackluster monitor, plus I wouldn't want to be distracted by notifications or run out of battery during a job
Thank you for the video... quite informative. And thank you for actually committing to which you feel is the best choice! So many TH-camrs walk the fence with comparison videos. Buy this one if you like A, B, C. But buy this one if you need X, Y, Z. Basically there's no point to watching those videos. Your video, on the other hand, has the courage to take a stand, make a recommendation... not hide behind ambiguity.
Great video !!! Looking to get the Pro 2 so was super helpful. From what I can see online it says that you can film in 120fps at 1080p, as you mentioned in your video that it doesn’t, wanted to check this is correct as that a deal breaker for me ?
I would put my money on the mini 3 pro, however if it’s speed you’re looking for when tracking a vehicle doing 30+mph the take the 2 pro, if you tracking maybe a bike or running take the mini 3 pro
The image quality is better, it looks more naturally sharp, however the ease and convenience of the smaller package, but the image isn’t that far apart so i personally go with the mini most of the time
The sticks absolutely should be removable. Break a non removable stick and you’re boned. Currently perusing eBay for the best deal between these 2. I have the original mini, but I need better wind resistance than 15mph, which both offer, and size isn’t a concern.
I had a mini but I love how powerful the mavic 2 sounds at times idc if people notice lmao 🤣, but I still like the portrait mode of the mini 3 pro not gonna lie thats what has made me think about it.
I still had the 1 and went with mini, there areas that are PITA because you can't play due to geo permision its one of the most hassle thing about owning DJI Drones, some clients needs a drone shot and I can't provide one due to the fact that its a red zone and drone won't fly no matter what, having a mini will stitll give you the option to fly and get footage and still get a professional output with color grading, but in terms of real quality and difficult scenarios i'd go mavic 2 pro, if really needed get both in my opinion.
you forgot to mention the fact that the mavic can fly in heavier winds it is old technology as far as drones go but the price point of them at the moment its 2 pro all the way compared to even the mini 4 pro most people dont even use them to their full potential they just have to have the latest gadget
@@NAM3L3555 normally you get a pack of 3. There should be nd8, 16 and 32 these are more than enough for the mini 3 pro, since the sensor is so small, you don’t need ND 64 or 128

Great video. You've helped me decide between these two drones. I didn't realize the size and noise difference was that drastic. Mini 3 Pro is right for me. Nicely lit video too btw. new sub
Thanks 💯 glad I could help, mini 3 pro just goes everywhere and you know what they say, the best camera is the one you always have on you! Welcome to the Channel 🤙💯
Got to love a side grade LOL As you know I have ditched my Mavic 2 Pro for this little beast and I LOVE IT even though I am getting some negative comments on my choice .... another cracking video buddy 👏
for me I would never take the 2 pro anywhere because it was too big and now the mini 3 pro has 10 bit and the sensors around it i'm ready to move to the minis
How much does the fixed aperture change things? I have a M2P and constantly use the aperture to fine tune lighting so I can stay at 1/50th at 24fps. Sometimes I forget my ND and can still get away with f11 on a bright day. Is there a big chance if you have to crank up shutter speeds? I feel like the M2P has such a signature cinema look but am also feeling really held back by the size and time it takes to get in the air. The mini would be perfect for motorcyle adventures. If only it had side sensing. One more thing. Do you find it a lot mor susceptible to winds?
I use the m2p for more complex work, I shot a car garage and wanted a slow shutter speed, now I don’t know exactly what setting I’m going to need, so getting it in the air and being able to use that flexibility and get the setting right without having to land it and swap nds then get back up again is a big thing. However the size of the mini allows me to fly through small spaces to get more creative angles. It’s swings and roundabouts. I don’t think it’s a one or the other situation I think it’s great to have both and use them based on situation and environment. And as for wind, yes the mini definitely takes a hit but it’s still more than capable, if you’re flying in calm wind it’s fine but string wind then no, the 2 pro definitely has the best wind resistance
Excellent video. I would like to take this with me traveling from the US to Europe. Should I buy the $900 kit that includes a professional battery and also buy the regular battery in case they ask me to weigh it? Also, I would love to go all out and pay for the $5000 DJI camera drone but that is cost prohibitive and you make a great point, the foldable size of the mini 3 pro drone is incredible. Maybe that’s why it feels and looks like it was 3-D printed. 🤷♂️
I would get the fly more combo if you want the extra battery life and want to keep the weight under 250g, I would massively recommend the RC pro controller bundle, after seeing a friends I really wish I’d gone with the screen RC
Great video! I have Mavic pro 2 and mini pro 3 is exactly what I need, small, light, and to be able to take some great photos. I will sell mavic 2 pro and I go for mini.💪🏻

The mini 3 pro actually got a firmware that gave it 10-bit colour! Now the mini 3 really is pro!🤯
If you have the $$ its worth the upgrade forsure... if you are waiting on art grants like me..... my mavic pro 2 will just HAVE to do! ahahha
