As I was entering Portage Place when a man held the door open for me and a woman. I said "Thank you sir." The woman then said "Don't call me sir!", I calmly pointed out that I was thanking the man who held the door. She then said "Oh. Okay. Do you have any change?" I have not been back since.
Yeah portage place revitalized downtown. When the open that time capsule in a hundred years...oh wait someone stole the time capsule, well the fountain is still there
I've never even been to Winnipeg but I've heard about this mall and seen the original commercial, so I was laughing pretty hard. Well done.

What I remember most about Portage Place is coming out of the main entrance and finding a native woman beaten with her head jammed in the phone booth because the guy who attacked her tied the telephone cord around her neck.
400 people walking by and I'm the only one to stop and help her.
I'm giving a woman cpr in the middle of the street and guys are laughing telling me to stop I'm going to catch something.

At all costs avoid the washrooms, , Listerine bottles all over the place. Its a hug hang out for natives these days and basically they've done to it what they've done to their reserves. turned it into a festering cesspit
