How is this man NOT "SIR Tom Baker"? If they're going to give one to Pat Stewart for seven season of TNG, they must give one to Tom Baker for 40+ years of The Doctor (because every actor since has lived in his shadow). This man is knighted in my heart...
Tom baker will all ways be the doctor no matter how many may come after him he's the one that made the biggest Impression on the 70's generation in the UK thank goodness for big finish you will always be my doctor!
Hey, people reading this comment, maybe you don't know, but Mr Russell is Dick from The Famous Five. Thank you for that, Mr. Russel, and for the invaluable work you did with Big Finish.
Completely agree. I'm someone who got into Doctor Who through the 2005 relaunch and has only seen the odd episode of Classic, yet Baker still somehow embodies The Doctor to me. Hell, I remember seeing Day of the Doctor with a friend who wasn't that bothered by the show, and when Tom Baker entered as The Curator at the end, even she recognised something big about the scene even though she had no idea who Baker was.
Tom Baker is a bona fide legend & his perfornances as the Fourth Doctor will forever be my favourite incarnation of the Doctor. My only regret is I never met him to tell him how his Doctor Who era got me through some of the worst times during my childhood he was the shining light in the darkness. Thank you Tom for giving me so much enjoyable entertainment on tv & audio throught the decades you are quite simply a national treasure & adored by fans around the world.
the greater compliment, I can't help thinking, is not to gush and write a page of boilerplate affection. All very nice, and I dare say, many an actor had read 10,000 of those, but to engage with something singular and unique regarding that actor. How many of these writers have read one of Tom's novels, for example - since they look so favourably - and might have had an insightful question to ask? How many might have revisited his filmography - since they look so favourably - and asked a question about the part? How many might have addessed Tom's art, or his travelling? It's not about you, you see - Your feelings, Your affections - but - and since you look so favourably - about him
Love you, Tom. I hope you see this. You made a big impact on my life. You were my Doctor when I was a kid and you still are now I am 46. Look after yourself in these troubled times. Love from Jay in Glasgow. ❤️
Awww 💙 this has to be the best I’ve ever seen 😊 but how can I write to Tom? I want to at least sent him a letter to show him my appreciation for his work and how much he changed my life forever 💙
Oh, so there is another italian fan on Big Finish who started on the old italian illegal release (yes, we italians are bad like that). Hallo, Paolo, I'm a bit older than you, happy to be not the only one loving this wonderful series and these wonderful audios.
Hello there, Sabrina! What old Italian release are you calling illegal? You mean that Mamma RAI didn't pay BBC for the Doctor's rights? I never knew that! Anyway, happy to meet another Whovian here in Italy!
@@Faramir731013 You can find proof of that in any list of countries where Doctor Who were sold that Andrew Pixley cared to write down. The production subtitles on the "Ark in Space" DVD lists the countries where the story was sold by BBC (episode four). Italy is not among them. France is, so I wrongly believed for years that we bought it there, but then I found out that France television bought season 12 in 1987. We watched Doctor Who first! But, hey, how chuffed must you be, the great Tom Baker read your letter, and also showed your old italian exercise book page! Always feels special, seeing something italian in our favourite show, and even more when Tom Baker is showing it.
As much as I wish my letter was one of the chosen, this is a wonderful, beautiful thing that Big Finish has done! This is what Doctor Who is about and the fans connecting with the actors and the people who make this wonderful universe will never ever stop being extraordinary! It is always a treasure to see things like this being done (especially in a time like this)!
So heart warming.I could go on forever about how much Tom meant to me playing the Doctor.I never had it easy growing up but that 25 mins on a Saturday afternoon made me so happy. And now we have Tom on BF.Amazing.We all truly love him.
I had the chance to meet the great Tom Baker once he was about to do a signing of his autobiography but had go and meet up my Mum and Sister to catch the train back home I think it was Nottingham or Birmingham.
That video is fantastic 😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍 and Tom Baker or known as the 4th Doctor is absolutely fantastic My favourite episode with the 4th Doctor is Doctor Who The brain of Morbius by Terrance Dicks and he was fantastic in Blackadder and Narnia 4 the silver chair and He will always be fantastic in Doctor Who on the TV and Big Finish. Also He was fantastic in Doctor Who The Age of Sutekh by Nickolas Briggs and Ken Bentley in Big Finish and one more thing all the Doctors and companions and Monsters in Doctor Who are absolutely fantastic
My favorite doctor who episode was keeper of traken. Does anyone remember that episode? Remember when melkur kills kasia and takes the keeper's chair and he says that she sacrificed herself so that he can become keeper? Tom replies by saying, "it looks like poor old kasia didn't have much say in the matter." That was really funny.
Tom should have stayed on more years as the doctor or he should return to the role when Whittaker leaves. The ratings for the show would go through the roof.
Its 2020 and the 1970s are still clining on. Thats impresive. A question I would just love an answer from Tom Baker on is: Do you know the Doctors birth name? ...... And I would with a smile accept the answer and quietly wonder... Was there a 1st original Doctor (pre William Hartnell) hidden in plain sight in " the Three Doctors"? And Is it just an coincidence that Tony Tyler shares the same last name with both "Doctor Tyler" and his sister Romana no wait... Bad wolf gi...no its White guardian o... no wait Rose Tyler....(Yes in my eyes Rose Tyler is Romana, The Bad Wolf girl and the new White guardian over time with her child with the Valeyard/Metacrysis being the new Black guardian....
*Can someone invent immortality for Tom Baker, please?*
If we have to put his head in a jar to do so, yes please.
While they are at it can they also invent a reality where Russel came back to write doctor who.
@@theavpman4834 Or even the Big Finish writers instead.
