I'm grateful for my parents instilling humility in me at a young age, being humbled and understanding that do young has both benefitted and thwarted my social skills.
I can make a person or group of people laugh or feel heard, but I'd much rather be in quiet company, or just by myself all together 🙏🏻

55 and a big AMEN! Despite all that life has thrown at me, I managed to survive to this age. The competition never occurred. I was out here living a life and wracking up those memories before they were even a twinkle in their momma's eye!
I'm almost 70 and all I have to say to young women is enjoy your beauty while you still have it, act like a lady if you want to be treated like one, USE your common sense and intelligence in ALL THINGS (especially when choosing a man!), don't let your heart run your life, work hard and make your own money, and don't expect somebody to rescue you, you have to rescue yourself.

Younger women just got here and have a LOT to learn. WE are a reflection of what they want to be, that's why they think it's a competition, they'retrying to keep up but can'tand never will. We're just living life gracefully and doing what needs to be done. We've already won! 🏆

I just turned 50 last month and I absolutely LOVE it. There's nothing better than knowing you've earned the right to be who you are and where you are in life. There's nothing better than having control of your life, your peace and your finances.
I wouldn't go back to my youth for anything. I'm my greatest competition. Envy is for the foolish and the weak.
So many young women put their value in the wrong things and people instead of investing in themselves from the inside out. It takes a knowledge of who God is and who you are to navigate this world, or you'll forever be defined by this ever changing society that doesn't value you at all.
I was told as a child, "Walk into a room with your ears open and your mouth closed." You can't hear a damn thing when you're running your mouth. Be quiet and listen sometimes. You miss so much when you're always wanting to be heard and never want to listen.
