Those are the chances of a young boy, entering a professional football academy, representing his team in the English Premier League.
Nick Cox is the man charged with helping every child who enters the doors of @manchesterunited academy to have the best chance of achieving their dreams.
Nick's message is powerful, inspiring and especially pertinent for anyone in the development game: focus on the person first, athlete second.
Emphasising the requirements of being a good team mate, being coachable and playing to your strengths are all key themes of the culture he has created. Having confidence in your abilities whilst being humble enough to keep learning are essential messages he reinforces.
Above all, whether you are part of the 0.012% or one of the 99.988%, the messages are the same: good people become high performers.

As a parent and a coach running a youth sports club this was such a valuable resource. It's so easy to have the right goals of high performance but let your methods slip to focusing on winning & results and end up with a harsh, unenjoyable culture. Showing that one of the biggest & most successful (despite the last decade!) sports clubs on earth can think and act like this with their young players really gives other youth institutions no excuse. This will become required watching for every coach who works for our organization - thank you!

This man looks and speaks and behaves like one of the boys from 'jobs for the boys' that Roy spoke about. The staff at United needs an external investigation!

Really fascinating, eye opening and thought provoking. I used some of the advice in real life as well as in coaching. Thanks for bringing such an amazing guest who’s experienced and an expert in their field. Almost makes me want to be a Manchester United fan🤣

@@_Tricky_ Spot on. This gives me confidence that the foundation is still solid at United, even when everything else is a mess.

This man spent 12 years at Watford as youth management and coach and also 7 years at Sheffield United. He had absolutely no history with man United so I think your comment is very narrow minded
