I Made My Own Elden Ring Challenge (it was too hard)

- I’ve been doing Elden Ring challenges for a while now, but I think it’s about time for me to make a challenge of my own. So, today I present you with dumpykong’s Elden Ring RUMP Challenge ™️. RUMP is simply an acronym for the rules of the challenge, but I’ll let video dumpy explain those. For now, kick back, and grab some snacks. This is gonna be a long one!

@@gabrielhachey1049 if you jump off, you die, but if he “kills” you, you get put at 1 hp and the cutscene happens.

Every challenge has its run.
the grafted scion boss doesn't kill you to ensure true deathless runs. Your hp doesn't hit 0 and you get no "you died" screen (unless you jump off). Also in randomizer, unlocking the training grotto grace also unlocks the stranded graveyard grace to skip the rick replacement if he's like melania or something impossible, so you could indeed have still fast travelled out of there.
I got 3 rotting crystalians on my first randomizer as rick replacement

Placidusax actually had five heads, three of which were cut off by Godfrey. The old lords talisman is actually Placidusax before his other heads were cut off. Another fun fact the banished knights Oleg and Engvall are known as the wings of the storm and if my memory serves me right the "storm" it refers to is Placidusax. The banished knights used to serve Placidusax when he was the elden lord of his time and Engvall and Oleg were two of the strongest.

Not necessarily. There is no indication that the banished knights served placidusax, as there is 0 indication that placidusax is the “King of the Storm” whom the exiles and banished knights served. This would’ve been what inhabited Limgrave and what was brought down by Godfrey.
. . . I don’t see Godfrey taking down placidusax in his prime, and amongst other reasons, they are certainly different creatures. In fact the King of the Storm may even be the thing represented on the tops of the banished knights helms, which looks like a bird dragon thing, but is definitely not placidusax.
Furthermore this storm king may not even be a creature at all and may have in fact rather just been a person, as it is implied that stormveil castle was the storm kings fortress. Who knows. Maybe it’s a nameless king situation and the storm king had a pet dragon or giant hawk or something. There is the storm hawk king after all.
In the end though there’s barely any information about this storm king and it’s all speculation.
I don't like advertising other people's channels on someone else's videos but smoughtown has multiple videos about the lore of elden ring. He has one about godfrey and the tarnished where he does mention it is entirely possible the storm king or the storm as referred to from Oleg and Engvall is Placidusax
@@kingkaliyuga1198 I am aware. I have also watched said videos and disagree with them, although I of course don’t dislike Smoughtown and am subscribed in fact.
However with the complete and utter lack of knowledge about this storm king and the knowledge we do have about Placidusax I find this extremely unlikely.
1. Godfrey could definitely not beat Placidusax in his prime.
2. Godfrey most likely fights the storm king after Marika and the Greater Will have taken control of the lands between, having long since ousted placidusaxs god and him as Elden lord, as there can’t be two Elden lords, and yet Godfrey AS an Elden Lord already fights the storm king in a similar time frame to when he fought the fire giants. He couldn’t be called Elden Lord though if Placidusax was still very much alive and kicking. Otherwise it would have some kind of different tense etc.
3. Placidusaxs residence is in Faram Azula and most likely always has been, as it the seat of his power, however the storm kings seat of power is in Limgrave and more specifically storm veil castle. I can’t really picture Placidusax and his massive figure ruling Limgrave and the castle, can you?
@@Nightmare-pj4fg it was confirmed that it was Godfrey also Godfrey could absolutely beat placidusax 1. Godfrey is more difficult in his fight which is not his prime I fought them at around the same time 2. Godfrey drops more runes 3 Godfrey killed an entire race the race of fire giants.

I’m just gonna put this out there, you don’t technically die to the first boss, he leaves you at 1HP, so technically you don’t lose anything if he “kills” you
You and many others inspired me to do my own challenge run. It wasn’t unique but we all have to start somewhere I guess. It was a faith only run and I had a blast, I was gonna post it, but these challenges aren’t always for bragging rights, they’re for fun! Thanks Dumpy, for just doin what you do!

Btw, the serpent hunter spear respawns in the Rykard arena when you discard it, so that’s why it was there
What triggers Melina to take you to the roundtable is either getting into Liurnia and sitting st a site of grace or defeating any boss in Limgrave, I believe.
Defeating Limgrave bosses don't trigger her, but losing to Margit does.

@@justarandomgamer7667 I'm pretty sure I'm right, heard this from multiple challenge streamers and speedrunners, also on the BingoBrawlers. Plus my own experience. But I'll not die on that hill, if someone prove me wrong I'll apologize on the spot.
she will take you once you’ve met Margit… that’s how I went there for the first time and I’d beaten plenty of the low tier bosses around the start of limgrave by that point 🤷🏻♂️

I had the same phase 2 jumpscare on malenia in that same arena while doing a seamless co-op fog gate randomized run, I found that you can even use the staircase in the area to kind of cheese the fight if you have range.

I had a very similar idea but ended up with a very different ruleset that makes it more like a pokemon nuzlocke. The things that were imprtant to me: I should keep the aspect of limiting encounters and planning for a boss. So that's why I didn't randomize enemies. I am only alllowed one weapon per side dungeon, legacy dungeon or map fragment. The rule that made it most like pokemon nuzlockes is: I have to lock in my equipment for a boss (Luckily there are six slots, just like for pokemon) and have to beat the boss with that loadout, every death I lose the one I was using (to avoid me sacrificing shit weapons without ever using them). I limited levels by allowing leveling with boss weapons and made it so there is a fixed weapom level per boss (to mimic rare candy use). Overall it was very close to what I wanted but also very difficult.
I really enjoyed this challenge, must have turned you insane haha

I think melina triggers to take you to the hold if you either defeat margit or rest at a grace beyond liernia (i have completely forgotten how to spell :/)
Thanks for the tip on getting into Volcano Manor at about 33 minutes. That'll be helpful for future playthroughs, for sure.
The cutscene that triggers the roundtable hold always happens after you encounter Margit for the first time, at least that is how it happened for me

The beast jaw has a damage bounus against graveti based enemies like astel for example so it was probably one of the best weapons to use for him

I got another challenge for you that I created myself and it’s called the GOLD Challenge.
So the G is for grace and you are limited to only having 23 graces and if u use them all, you gotta bless theirs a stake of marika nearby, O is order and what I did is spin a wheel of what order of bosses I have to face first ( Godrick, Rennala or Morgott have to go first) L would be level. I kinda took ur thing into level be would spin a wheel to see how many lvls I can go to but made it a little higher and would be up around 120 and D would be discard and I took the weapon lives idea from you bc I thought it would be kinda fun. So what do you think

I have only watched a minute of the video so far, but I already feel like the “only leveling to 100” is gonna be brutal. Considering you’ll need stats to wield as many weapons as possible + having decent vigor and stam + maybe int and faith if magic is used, might be rough. This is my thoughts before watching the video tho
