Hello, when you mention the front door handle is in line with the kerb, is it the end part of the handle (pointing towards the back door) or the front part of the handle (pointing towards the front of the car direction) or halfway point of the handle? I'm assuming it is the end part of the handle?

For this method can you tell us how to adjust mirrors ?
When moving out can move forward first then full left reverse then move out? That's what I was taught but it takes a bit longer than your method.
It is risky if you move forward and hit the kerb as you may get points and fail.
So do be safe.

I was given demerit points for dry steering. Surprisingly, during classes, my instructor never corrected me for this. He would say full lock before moving. Now i get points for doing exactly that. Even the warm-up instructor didn't say anything. When you say full lock, are you stationary?

Yes is adjust back each time.
Maybe you can try this. When you feel like you need to adjust your mirrors, try saying this.
You: Sir may I adjust my mirrors.
Tester: Yes
You : Thank you sir.
Once you are done and leaving, you should say:
You : Sir may I adjust my mirrors before exiting.
Tester: Yes.
This shows that you are always alert and ready.
Do take your time while taking the test.
Do well and be confident. Treat the tester like your big boss, smile and be happy with him and be honest.
I told my tester once that I am scared of P-parking. So once I am done and needed to leave, he guided me when I was leaving as I was scared and taking my own sweet time. 🤣
