hello jj hats i have been wearing harris tweed newsboy caps for over 30 years now, when i first put one on a said adios to the baseball caps.
Another very interesting video, Kevin. When I was visited the shop over the summer I picked up a linen flat cap. (Thanks to Townsend)
He’s awesome, good salesperson..thx
This gentleman needs to cut back on the caffeine just a trifle. 😅🤣😂
I love my caps been wearing them for the last two years or so, i have two flat caps & three newsboy caps two arrived this morning all Failsworth with the exception of the merino wool flat cap, which is an Earland brothers, it has become a bit of an obsession go for the Harris tweed or a merino wool, you do get what you pay for so be careful guys.
I'm a fan of Donegal tweed & Shetland wool newsboy caps. ✌️🎩
You have very refined taste. Congratulations
B wear out in CA. Great hats hand made&sewn. Summer& winter🥃
Awesome! Thank you Kevin
Love that wide, floppy Ivy cap! You should wear more caps, you look great 👍
Thank you! Will do!
Kevin, thanks for the education / clarification ! 👍 🇬🇧
Getting a ivy cap with ear flaps soon here for the real windy cold winter days ahead.
Thank you. Very helpful.
I’m 6’ 5” and 270. I, of course, have had hats/caps that fit, mainly in the Air Force. When I first retired, I had a full head of hair and enjoyed growing it out as many of us do upon retirement. Well that’s been a few years and I’ve been feeling the crisp winter days more intensely. I’m looking to do some traveling in Europe and have been in search of a stylish and practical headwear choice - thank you for the differentiation between these two similar styles. Having the rounder, fuller face, and minimal remaining hair, I’m interested in a newsboy in a tweed which will take some shopping; my real question is “Are there styles of hats that can draw attention away from my 7-3/4’ish head?” or should I just settle for warm and fits? Thanks
Those are all nice. I prefer the driving cap. 👍☮️🌞🎸🚵♀️🐾💙
Wow!! Great job, Sir! I needed this CAP review... newsboy, vs, flat... and, on how the SNAP worked... thank you again--- go raibh maith agat, 🤗🥰☘️💖...
Thanks for yet another nice video! Do you have any rules of thumb about when to wear a newsboy/ivy cap as opposed to a fedora?
Anytime, except a fancy restaurant, it’s be ok in a casual place or at the bar, but not the dining room at a fancy restaurant, everywhere else is A ok!
@@KTGHATS Thanks for your guidance.
@@KTGHATS I also think that newsboys/ivy caps are terrific for travel.
Woo hoo. A cap video! Thank you Thank you. 👍😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍🎸🎩 I need to go find your support paypal address to support the cause
There will be longer more extensive ones when the new caps arrive, due before the end of Nov
That harris tweed cap is gorgeous. Love to purchase
This is an old video. I have a similar Harris tweed in a wider, nostalgic cut flat cap, in size 58, that’s about it for now, a few Irish tweeds, but all the same sizes 58, 59

thank u sir!
Very informative, I had a hat that I lost that fit Soo damned well and looked so damned good that I cannot find it at ALL......anyway it had a square tweed and it's impossible to replicate because it had the visor actually knitted on two sides where traditionally it's buttoned in the center and sometimes on each side. Never seen it since.
thank you 😊
So I ask you please for an explanatory video or videos on how to reach the required size in making hats. Thank you for your efforts. I hope that the videos will be practical.
Thanks for the info
I really wonder what those snaps are for, I have a couple of those attached to my gatsby/ newsboy cap on the brim.
Just for style, for the peak to lay a certain way. Some brands use two snaps, some just sew the peak down. The snap creates a certain look in front that a non snap cap can’t really replicate. A sewn down peak is really neater though, many brands are switching to that now.
Makes me want to sing Shoot to Thrill when I put on a grey newsboy cap
Cool video! I live in Boise, Idaho. Is there a way to go see them in a store here?
Hi Kevin. Just curious-- do you have any tips or tricks regarding how to deal with creases or wrinkles in fabric of a newsboy cap? I had one shipped to me in just a plastic bag, and it is pretty wrinkled and creased in parts. Is there anything I can do to address it?
Sure, make little pancake shaped wads of tissue paper, the type they usually stuff inside them, make a lot lot of them, stack them up until the crown of the cap is really, really tightly stuffed, fit as much tissue into that crown as you can, so that the fabric looks taught and all the wrinkles are gone.
next, you want to steam it. Get a source of steam, a kettle ,anything that has hot steam..and take the tightly stuffed cap and let the steam permeate through the crown, give it a good soaking.. if you’re using a stove, keep the cap far away from the flame. As far as possible.
Let the cap dry, you can set it by a fan if you’re impatient. It has to dry thoroughly. Once you remove the tissue, it should look fine.
Good morning Kevin, i'am looking for video showing all steps of sewing the newsboys hat and different size for make it, 🙏 thank you
Hi Kevin. Great video. I missed the name of the Ivy cap. Could you tell me what that flat cap model is? Thanks!
The Dockside Ivy
I would like to say that I find it difficult to apply the measurements accurately to the pattern. The result is always either a hat that is too small or too large. I am not good at determining the desired size, so I ask you, please.
Those are beautiful caps kevin. I've never worn one. Always wondered how I would look in one though. Are they expensive?
Summer stuff is about $62.50 now, the wool ones are around $125 on average, we have a few that are less, but in general, we carry the higher end stuff.
@@KTGHATS thank you Kevin I know you guys are top shelf. I'll see what I can do I'd like to get a hat from you guys asap.
do you have a video showing how to shape the brim? I bought a Parigi Duckbill Flat Cap from Borsalino, and the brim is flat. Which kind of annoys me. I want to shape it /curve it and I assume steam, but no clue what material the brim is made out of. I emailed the company to ask, but haven't heard back. I wish I lived in NYC, would love to come into the store. Also, do you have any flat caps that are similar to the Parigi Duckbill Flat Cap made for summer? Not as easy for me to find summer flat caps.
Hi Kevin, I am a new subscriber. The title of the video attracted me and I expected to find all the information about hats. I thought you were talking about the pattern for sewing them. Honestly, I find it difficult to apply the measurements accurately.
Lo único que te puedo decir es que están bien bonitas
Muy útiles para este invierno
