Generally 18+ if you are in college. It's obviously tougher in high school since most programs will require that you have some knowledge of higher level concepts in the field related to the program. In my case, I had the sufficient and adequate dual enrollment credits to apply to an internship focused on research (where I picked a topic relative to my major). The requirements was also to be 18, which I'm not, and I was still accepted. So it's really just about your situation. If you have connections with professors that will also help a lot (one of my professors for my dual enroll. classes wrote me my letter of recom.)

currently applying to the Naval Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program 😀 on top of a Duke University talent identification, I feel this being on my resumé will really get me far
@@umno9830 currently enlisted in the Navy under the nuclear program. not really sure if my resumé counted for much, but in the end, things worked out i suppose.
