Very nice 👍. My 1984 is getting a new racing piston from XR'S only. The bike has very few hours but the cylinder was pitted due to storage. Im also re painting the frame and swing arm. Shes going to look and ride incredible!!!
Hey man not sure if you'll see this .I have an 85' that pops a lot from the exhaust. Already tried adjusting the air/fuel screw on the carb. Going to clean it later but I was gonna ask if you had any experience with exhaust popping on these old bikes.
They all burble a little on declaration but if it’s popping real bad it’s running lean or may have an air leak. Like you said try jetting it up. Have you tried the pilot fuel screw underneath closest to the intake ? 21/2 out on that. Oh and definitely give a good cleaning, check clip position, float height etc. Make sure the intake boots aren’t cracked too, good luck buddy ✌️🇺🇸
@@deborahchesser7375 Gave the carb a quick clean, jet was completely clogged. It runs great now and idles great. Before I couldn't get it to idle without the choke on. It still has some quite pops every now and then while idling and then the burble on decel sounds pretty much the same. Intake boots looked good. I'm guessing the carb could use another more thorough cleaning.
@@pdizzle_1776 cool deal brother, just a little TLC and those Hondas come right back, some tough ass bikes. Maybe you can put an exhaust and pumper carb on one day just out of curiosity lol. Be safe
@@deborahchesser7375 Is that the little brass flat head screw in the middle at the bottom of the carb? I've adjusted that and it seems to run better where I have it now.

I loved this video, more on this bike would be amazing

@@pdizzle_1776 did you check the pilot fuel screw ? They are effective to about 21/2-3 turns out but it’ll run better especially off the bottom.
