- While cleaning my computer, I came across this video and I thought that I could not keep it for myself;)
My G3 dream playing one of my favorite song : Little Wing 🔥🔥🔥
Hope you enjoy!
Love Joe at the end "Guthrie that was insane" ... - เพลง
"guthrie thats was insane"
"betul betul betul"
That's Guthrie being Guthrie 🙂
@@immanuelsiregar7395wedeh ada orang indo 🤘🤘
Entah apa yg ada diotak Lik guthrie 😂 edan
Joe sounded very musical, great tone besides
That's three completely different stages of hair growth.
Jajaja it’s true!
dude
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha
Lol
hahahaha
I love the 3 differents flavor we have here! The jazzy acid Guthrie way, the alien-like Steve way and the academic Joe way, pure legends!
Those are some very appropriate adjectives!
@@artnaz damn Fr
Satriani is the alien
@@th-3dstudioth-3dstudio16 for sure!
@@yoshimitsu8643 Why?
No hair, medium hair and all the hair.
Satch has tons of hair, it's just not on his head! lol. Look at those furry arms! If I could play like that, I'd be happy to deal with the fur. ;-)
His hair travel to south to be close of guitar. 😁😁😁
Класс! 😂
XD
Modern man, Middle ages man, cave man?
Satriani' s solo is insane !
Yep, just plain and simple. Sound like Hendrix would today.
@@FabrizioPeretti I was relieved when it came to the part he was playing. So melodic and breathing
I didnt like it 😬 the fist 2 guys were killing it so hard that joe looks kindda lame
My fave guitarist since the start!
@@rbclima that's because youve never listened to little wing lol
Satriani always knows what the song needs!!! \m/
he added the right amount of melody to keep the Hendrix flow
Satch always stands out in these because he plays what the song calls for and his tone just has a thick singing quality to it. Love it.
Weird thing to say when it’s all subjective
Exactamente, Satriani siempre sabe que hacer.
Most of the time Sartriani is the best because he keeps a melody going on.
I get what you're saying. Satch stays within the melody better, IMHO. But they are all face meltingly incredible. Wish EVH had been there too.
This lineup is missing someone really influential. Someone who redefined how guitar is played. Then again, maybe these three hacks were afraid to be shown up. Of course, I'm talking about...
C.C. DeVille.
JK
Don't forget the legends Marco and Bryan on drums and bass. Loved it!
Nor the legendary Mike Keneally on guitar and keyboards! He could trade licks all day with anyone.
They are not the main people there. So yeah, no one's talking
Vai : Wind
Guthrie : Water
Satch : Earth
The Fire : Petrucci missing ...
The fire: Eric Jhonson ahi(Scott Henderson)
Petrucci have nothing to do there.
Stones:Paul Gilbert
Paul Gilbert the Lightning and John Petrucci the Fire were missing here. They should do G5 soon to heal the World's music now. 😆
This is why Satriani will be timeless, his solo is incredibly tasty and most importantly it sounds human, like a voice singing and expressing itself.
what's always so great about sounding human?
@@Frip36 it's kind of the boomer way of saying: "I won't admit how high the bar has been raised by people like Guthrie, so I'll say fast = bad"
@@detuneCris If he likes Satriani he probably likes Guthrie. My point is that guitar doesn't have to sound human to be worthwhile. Ever heard of New Wave, Post Punk, Industrial, etc?
@@Frip36 yes, and they all would sound better with real guitars🤣
Exactly he always sounds great .Vai and Guthrie always screw it up.
1:03 the way Steve pulls such a beautiful melodic phrase out such an esoteric sound world just gets me every time. Everything about how he plays that melody is unconventional but it's such a beautiful and emotive twist to bring the solo home. Love Vai.
Guthrie's tone sounds just like the old school overdriven Jimi Hendrix tone! Awesome player!!
He is an incredible emulator ,having copied Shawn Lane,Allen Holdsworth ,Jeff Beck And yet, that's all I hear him play.A collage of everybody else's playing phrased perfectly.
@@JimMorrison-ld2zh ahaha he's just a god you say. ok
@@denostar No guitar player is a god ,ever!!
@@denostarNo, he is clearly saying that no matter how much of a good player/emulator he is, he has not achieved having his own truly distinct style, he always sounds like he is emulating others or a mix of others. Maybe that's why extremely few people know and listen to any of Guthrie's original music, while tons of people admire his ability and versatility in his playing.
Joe was like explaining what Guthrie and Vai were trying to say.
So true 😂
Man! thats really what i thought about!
hahaha spot on
Guthrie and Vai was doing poetry while Joe was doing thesis.
YES!
1:27 That little lick with the bend up the ninth. Oh my. Pure joy
Guthrie’s solo is hittin all the feels
Yup he is paraphrasing a multitude of great guitarists but with perfect dexterity.
I absolutely love Guthrie Govan, he's my hero
Ok fanboy ,he's your hero!
@tekodoraudor I hit a nerve eh?? Awww here's a tissue for your issue...lol
Fanboy perception....
@tekodoraudor Sniffety sniff, blah blah woof woof....here's another TISSUE for your fanboy issue...😂🤣😁😅🤭😄🤓
@@JimMorrison-ld2zhyou seem like a very nice guy. Good for you ❤
Big fan of all three, but like many others have commented here... Joe is a genius. Not the flashiest, but definitely the most emotive solo in this video. The tone drips. The notes sing and cry. The phrasing is human. Joe has been my favorite soloist since I first heard him in the late 90's.
you must realize they could all play it more soulfully if they wanted to. that's not what the other two chose.
You're right, Joe is the master of the 3.
What about those ones??? th-cam.com/video/80LR5ev2gSw/w-d-xo.html
@@JimMorrison-ld2zhNot even close
@@fawder1014 Listen to the Aristocrats.Every tune, sounds the same.Once you've heard one you've heard them all. This same thing applies to Yngwie.Once you've heard one tune you've heard them all.Their speed is off-putting not impressive. One solo by David Gilmore blows either of these 2 out of the ballpark.
When Steve Vai plays I thought they were playing, "For the Love of God."
He basically played that solo lol
First part, second Tender Surrender.
and when Joe plays a solo, it's as if the sky opens up, hitting the blues in the soul.
Joe stands out once more because of his superior phrasing. Unbelievably, he's getting EVEN BETTER with age. What a talent!!! We can only listen in awe.
Joe also stands out for his hairy hands :D
@@KP-by4eu yeah OP doesn’t understand that the more you do something the better you get at it
Tell me you're older than 50 without telling me you're older than 50
Very good decision for him to avoid shredding when the other two did the happy tappy shred thing
Loved his phrasing, but THAT tone I have no words! That's pure beauty
Big fan of those 3 virtuosos, but Satriani stood out with his feel and phrasing.
Also with his arm hair
@@JuiceboxDesmond 🤣
Just saw Guthrie tonight in Toronto with the Aristocrats and I wish they played for 6 hours straight. Truly legendary guitarist!
Thanks to the person that posted this video on youtube..thanks a lot
Guthrie did it uniquely.
Vai did it extremely.
Joe did it classy.
All monster guitar players..
I like to learn to play it like Vai, where it's flashy and extreme.. yet it sounds good.. and immature spectators can't compliment it because they are so intimidated and jealous..
Jesus Christ it's 2021. People STILL don't get Steve fucking Vai ...
"Flashy"....
No. Vai plays the way Vai plays. He moves the way he moves. Makes the faces he makes... Cus he has to. He can't help it. Normal people clearly can't hear that there's more "feeling" and emotion in any single solitary note from any piece of his, than most artists entire catalog. I feel sorry for you people.
No one sounds like Vai. People may try. But you can blindfoldedly spot Vai out of an infinite number of players, easily. Fast does not mean "fast" or "flashy".. nor tapping or "tricks". Fast is an explosion of emotion if done by the correct artist/one that knows the science of music on a level you have no idea one can. How many other guitarists spent hours daily doing creativity expansion excersizes? Or sitting back to back with Satriani as kids, one plays a chord the other has to guess the color the player is trying to express. No one's better than anyone when you're virtuoso level. They're all just as gifted in their own unique ways.
But for the record... Vai would be the unique one.... How many techniques that expand your ability to express yourself of the guitar has Goven invented in his life?
@@Borlos. Lol.. with that long comment.. it's more obvious you don't even know how to play guitar.
@@Borlos. I get the way he plays, spams notes and annoying sounds and has no feel
Guthrie. Academic, Steve Flash, Joe Tuneful
@@Borlos. guess you havent heard enough of govAn's work in your life time. Too biased by the fact you love vai that you cant recognized someone surpassed his level long ago.
Satch's ibanez sounded like stratocaster.
That actually Steve Vai's ibanez Joe borrow it from Steve for 6 month.
It's a super strat, no?
@@madarifin2892 pretty sure thats joes own guitar. hes got his sustainiac, and thats the JS shape
It looks so fucking gorgeous
Some people here can't admit of how good Guthrie Govan is.
I know it's not a competition but Guthrie makes Steve look bad. Steve looks straight up annoyed a couple of times and kept cutting Guthrie off, even in the battles. It's just obvious. Joe on the other hand is enjoying his legacy of guitar enjoyment.
@@stysner4580 yea Steve Vai can’t jam where as Joe can
@@stysner4580 I don't know... 3 songs of Steve make entire Govan's career looks preety bad too. Tender Surrender, For the love of God and Whispering a prayer.
@@davidderoux7552 for the love of god is the most annoying piece of music I've ever heard. Tender Surrender is really cool. If you're not into fusion, there's a lot of Guthrie's work as a session guitarist that is more mainstream and absolutely amazing. His work with Hans Zimmer for example. Steve Vai is overrated imo.
@@stysner4580 I don't give a thing about fusion. At least Govan's songs are extremely hard to listen to. If you ask me about Greg Howe, that's something else. People always say about Guthrie: his work with or for: SW, JB, HZ...well, all of those songs aren't Govan's songs. I don't like a single Govan song. Yes, he is very good, amazing skills and that's all about him. Steve is not overated at all. He can play everything he wants in terms of rock.
As a fans, I can recognize Joe's melody even without looking at him, so unique and touchfull...
It's all minor pentatonic man
Nothing short of mindblowing, extreme mastery of the guitar showcased in a perfect manner.
Can't believe your comment is not popular here
Besode from these amazing performances we have to say our gratitude to the video editor and all of the crew and staff behind this amazing video, Round of applause to all of you 🤘🤘🤘
Guthrie can melt his nd our faces at the same time. What a legend ❤
True
No tricks, no effects, no show off, no "look at me", no "I can play fast". Joe only serves music!
I had that thought when I was 16. Now I'm 40 and ashamed of my past ignorance
@@edwardscissorhands5264 lots of guys when they get older move away from the shredding and fast stuff but I never did I hated when shredders would start doing blues stuff lol
@@jedsteelwell2354 I expect that from a so called adult using words like "lol" to communicate.
I've been playing guitar for over 36 yrs and time after time I find that little wing is one of the best solos ever made.
This video is the most epic guitar video ive seen. These slomo shots on the chorus with these 3 legends destroying is SO SICK
Not even sure that's the most epic Little Wing video. What about this one??? th-cam.com/video/80LR5ev2gSw/w-d-xo.html
So lit dude! Just bomb ass dope,no? lol...millennials are so funny
Their mid-solo faces.... I love them all! It's like their brains are so focused on their hands, their faces are allowed to freestyle a bit.
Man those guys are all very inspirational! Love their sounding! Thank you!
Three LEGENDS in one video..
Clips like this are very rare.
Thanks for uploading
Steve Vai, as always the best shred
Nice Show! wish I saw it live.
GUTHRIE - one of my favorites, but I think he played a bit "too outside', still fantastic finish.
VAI - Best showmanship and the melodic tapping tricks are just amazing, he's awesome.
SATCH - played the "best" and most memorable lines, because he stayed with the melody.
Next time make it G6 and include: MALMSTEEN, PETRUCCI and GILBERT. \m/...cheers! :)
G6 and include Jeff Lynch, C.C. DeVille, and Ritchie Faulkner.
i would love to see that g6 you mentioned imagine how cool that would be
@@GTA7REVEAL cheers matey. I would also love to. I think there has been some jam somewhere in TH-cam...an informal G5 something which featured: Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, Petrucci and Neil Schon. And Yngvie dominated again as usual.🤭
@@kirkwhammet9933 thats sick dude thanks for letting me know!
Each rendered different style but they all come up with such a very beautiful collaboration ❤
Thanks for the taking the time to think of us while cleaning that computer. Got some goosebumps there... I'm always telling the kids their just looking for an excuse to get out of doing work
Grande Satriani, se fue a lo clásico, un genio, la lució sin tirar mil notas 👏👏👏👏👏
Guthrie really brought out the best of steve vai and joe satriani
Wish they have a dvd for this one.....
Two of the foundations of rock guitar... And the man that will propel the new generation forward......
What a pleasure to watch and listen to three brilliant guitarists each bring their own translation of the fine and beautiful work of the late great Jimi Hendrix.
A deep bow and a piercing string bend.
0:55 Steve vai já começa arrasando !
I love them all!
Absolutely awesome
Would LOVE to see a G3 Edward Van Halen tribute tour. 🎸
To me, nothing beats the G3 Denver line up and Malmsteen little wing solo is just from another planet.
1.29 Joe moving scale and emotional phrasing was insane. All of them are my guitar hero, vai techniqure are still the beast, Guthrie improvisation also out of this world
G3 has always been one of my favorite concert series in any incarnation...from Satch, Vai, Eric Johnson to John Petrucci and Uli Roth, it always exceeds expectations. Love it. Keep Rockin All . Stay safe everyone. Peace
watching guthrie play is like that rick james skit. Just pure aura.
Satch was big before my time, but boy, that guy can remind you why he's awesome anytime he wants
I like Joe's style the best, but they're all great guitarists. I think maybe equally technically great, but Joe just hits the style spot for me.
All of joe's hair went to his arms
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Yep, Satriani blows them away with note choice and feeling. That guy often surprises me.
Guthrie is a technical master, no doubt, but I absolutely love his note choices on some of the longer melodic phrases... like "bring a tear to the eye" good.
What happens every time they play the guitar I always want to follow it but what can I do I can't do that😭
thank you for making this for us
Joe is the reason i love guitar solos ❤🙏
Satch so phenomenal!!
Three of the greatest guitar legends paying respect with an awesome tribute to the GOD of Guitar.
MAX Respect.
Guitar legends together on stage! Hope that will happen again on an album!
love it. thank you guys.
You can hear that satch is the most influenced by Hendrix and doesn't want to change the song to much
You could still hear Little Wing in Guthrie's playing lol, Vai just took that framework and played every note in between (still managed to make it sound cool though, that is a skill in itself)
A new universe has just been created!
iDk how many times i click this video ,. this performance stuck my head ;] so Addicting🖤
Ooooo that satch solo was smooth as buttah. All 3 are legends
Guthire Govan the best performance, new and fresh 😍
No
@@norpriest521 yes!
@@norpriest521 it's subjective but I haven't heard anything like Guthrie's take on little wing. Joe satriani had a very classy approach to it and I really like that but govan takes the cake for me because his tone was really unique
I recognized little wing only when Joe started. In the blues, like in many walks of life - less is more and soul is more important than technique.
What you can't recognize is shoved into techniques category. How convenient!
More is more
Not at a G3 Concert!
The "feeling is mutual
amazing
This is so emotional
Craziest was 2003 with Malmsteen! 😂
Yeah!
Энергетика была на другом уровне
I saw that tour at the Greek 2nd row in front of Yngwie. It was awesome.
Satriani taste is unbeliable
Oh man ..... Amazing....
When satch hits those feels ✌️❤️
Joe satriani looks straight blues man in this
yeah i think joe wins this , he shows less but puts in more musicality , sort of respect for the tune ??
Satriani plays with so much soul. It's a joy to listen to his phrases
Love this music
Is there a metric available to measure the insane amount of talent on that stage? Yet even after the thousands of hours they’ve spent on stage they still look as excited to be there as three kids on their first visit to a castle of candy, goose bumps kind of beautiful to see.
G3 of the future Guthri Govan, Matteo Mancuso ,Andre Nieri would be Awesome
with tom quayle and martin miller too pleaseeeeeeee 👌
Without Satriani it wouldn't be called "G3".

is there a DVD for this concert? would love full show
spectacular
Steve vai master !!!!!
Guthrie is as cool as ever! Crazyman!!!
Jeo is becoming even better as he ages, which is quite rare with these type of guys to slow down and remember the guitar is a musical instrument to start with. I remember a while ago he was speaking in one of the interviews how he is finding ways not to repeat himself.
When Joe start to hit the note its just like a fine wine better with age!!!!🙂
I saw Satch. Vai, and Yngwie here in Seattle. Also not too shaby of a lineup
This part..satriani is nice

Gay
@@radrenegade6824 It's gay not to recognize it lol
I see these 3 legends play. I'm mind blown. And I ask myself why can't I still get Buckethead out of my mind?
There is just so much depth in Buckethead.
Just take the Bucket out of your head
Seen joe live many times since his first LP, and he is awesome. No one has hairy arms.
Three heroes!
I loved every second of this. Guthrie was fantastic, Joe was unbelievable, Steve was great. However, Steve Vai needs to realise that not everybody is a guitarist/musician. Regular people who just LOVE this song would never recognise the song the way that Vai played it. Nothing that Steve played even resembled Little Wing. Other than that, this was awesome.
Shut up , vai is the best
All I said is that Steve Vai made the song unrecognisable, which is correct.
