Welcome aboard, glad you found the channel! Back when I worked at the bike shop one of our old customers used to say " It's the weekend, time to mend the Triumph" , but it was tongue in cheek and was a normal part of motorcycling. Thanks for commenting and the sub, Ade
Ooops! Happened to send my comments before I was finished... From idle screw to primary chain. I like the calm tempo and your nice skills. Must look through your other videos.
I had a push over pipe conversion done on my trrv by cylinder head shop (blr) south London, they make the collars 2 thou oversize heat the head and wind em in asap super job.
It was a proxxon industrial but I would not recommend, it didn't last long unfortunately. I would recommend a pendant grinder with flexible shaft like s-r hanging motor or Foredom I have one of these now
What model triumph was that head from? I haven’t seen one with two spark plugs per cylinder before....I love to watch your machining skills...it’s great to see old parts being saved and I guess you have some very happy customers...cheers
Hi, It was a 650 Triumph Bonneville that had been converted to twin plug, probably doe in the 60's when it was a popular mod for racing. It's a good feeling to be able to save these parts from the scrap bin! Thanks for watching and the support.
I thought the clothing changes were just a fashion statement, silly me. If I don't sell you those stubs and taps, next time you might like to think about using DOM instead of solid although, all things considered, on one offs the saving might not be great. When I used to do Triumph heads I found that an electric cooking ring was the best way to heat them up. Well, you can go off and have a coffee instead of standing there waving a gas torch about for 10 minutes getting bored. EDIT, just thought to suggest that you make yourself a cross slide stop, it makes threading so much less stressful if you like to use the offset top slide method. Although it beats me why anyone would want to but each to there own.:>)
Hi Chris, yes it was filmed over about a week, hence the changes. I did try to get some DOM, but my supplier only had 1.5mm ERW tube, hence the solid bar unfortunately, DOM would definitely be worth the time saving. I still want to try a Norton head exhaust thread repair, I've got taps and a lump of cored ali bronze waiting for trying it out. Thanks for the other ideas Chris.
Hi Rod, I have only received the one from 6 days ago " hello Ade - I sent you a PM on you gmail account, did you receive it? Sorry to hear you've been unwell, catch up soon I hope. Rod Freeman" , nothing since then, not sure whats happening then? may be worth another try?

Nice one ... I do love to see the family pet in the shop
We had a cat called Applejack years ago, he would sit on the bench for hours watching me, I'm sure he was a mechanic or something in a previous life!
Me thinks you've done that before Mr Ade, Pulling your leg mate very well done as always.
Alan.

Nice repair. What is the make and model of the grinder you are using? Need to buy a replacement and that one looks like it has plenty of steam.
