Everything about the car was excellent with great build quality. Stick with Lexus SUVs and cars and avoid Toyota, at least the newer vehicles.
Last month my wife and I bought a second vehicle, a used one that is 9 years old and only had 42,000 miles. We did not have the cash to pay for it outright, so it had to be financed. $8500 was the cost of the car, and we got denied from a couple of banks due to the amount to be financed ($7800) was not enough!!! I guess the banks were not going to make enough money off of this loan. A bank did pickup the loan, but required a 60 month term!! I wanted 36 month but they would not do it, once again because they would not make enough money on the loan. Crazy times.
You know you can legally make a second payment every month and make the finance company/bank apply that to the principal of the loan only, ok. This will get your loan payed off quicker and may save you interest too. Find out generally what a 36 month loan for a car would have cost monthly. Then subtract your current payment from that 36 month payment amount, and pay that difference monthly towards the principal. You will save money. 🏆💪🏻

Near me about 25 miles outside Houston, the local Toyota dealer hasn’t stocked any new vehicles on their lot this year. It has remained empty. I’m guessing they’re just rolling with their service dept and letting buyers order at their discretion. Ford, Chevy, Dodge dealers next to it, and those lots have stayed full all year. I’ve never seen it like this in the 24 years I’ve lived in this area. I haven’t noticed many new paper plates on the roads this year. I’m guessing new sales are mostly business/corporate buyers. I think all the “free money” and people tapping their 401k a couple years ago ignited the new car boom, and now the individual buyers are done for a few years. Same deal with boats and rvs. Reset from boom to bust ongoing. Prices got way too high. Interest rates now are similar to the 1990’s, but prices are 3-4x higher for basically the same truck with gadgets on it. Average wages haven’t increased 4x, and I think $40k is about max most people can realistically handle.
You should be careful of the dealership's service centers as well. They are increasingly scamming people to not honor warranties on work they have done and saying more needs to be done to the vehicle that's not required. Service center is their money maker, even more so now. This is what is keeping them afloat.
Spot on Ninja. I just saw a Toyota commercial advertising a lease for the Highlander model at $429 for 36 months. Same lease in years past was closer to $600. 😂
I guess pricing out your customers (aka-ripping them off at every angle) has consequences. Maybe they wouldnt be closing or having stocks drop if they were concerned about the customer
The MSRPs on the new generation Tacomas and Tundras are outrageously higher than the previous generation. Add to that the fact that both pickup trucks from Toyota now have smaller displacement, overstressed turbocharged engines and you have a recipe for steep sales decline even with Toyota’s stellar reputation for quality.
Blame the EPA, for all their efficiency killing emissions controls manufacturers have to put on engines! Also, forcing them to make cars and trucks with high MPG. Lower torque and HP are the result. But, buy a 1980 Chevy Corvette or 1990s Dodge Charger with 700 hp engines and be happy!!
I called on a specific car at our local Toyota dealership in which we have purchased and is still new so we decided to get his and hers matching cars different color so I thought now is probably the time to inquire well the car has gone up in price and they even told me there was a $6000 markup because the color I want would probably be difficult to find which did not make any sense at all so I gave her my name and number and told her to look us up that we had just purchased a car so she knew we were serious and to call me when the price starts going down and we would talk so they never called me back
In Canada. Prices still high but some offering 0% financing now. We have a 2017 Ford F350 diesel. Worth what we paid. Own it. We thought about trading in for a new one if we got 30k difference. You are saying people will miss this opportunity to trade in high. I thought whsts the point if you have to buy high. Trucks are 100k to 120k here. So would love advice. Whats the difference if prices come down we trade in lower but still end up 30k difference. I just want 0%. No way financing at 8% . Or just keep the truck. It only has 86k km on it.

I've never bought a new car in my 37 years on earth. I could never stomach the depreciation, so I've only ever paid cash for good, old cars that had nothing or not much left to lose. In some cases, I got all my money back when it came time to sell, and a couple times I even made a little on top.
Everyone and everything is in a lot of trouble

No, good times ahead. Be happy. Move into a tent outside your house and eat locusts. The elites of the World Economic Forum and the Democratic Party want you to!! Breathing out that global warming CO2, eating meat from cows that give off global warming methane, driving EV's that don't pollute the air, etc. By the way, locusts have high protein and vitamins, and best of all, no cost! Just gather them up in your yard.:))
The service centers actually carry the whole dealership
With the prices they charge … I believe it!! 😂 we recently took our 2005 frontier to the Nissan dealer to get it diagnosed. We were unable to figure out what was causing an issue with a brief engine stall while driving. Our regular mechanic was also unable to DX either. Dealer came back with like $10k+ in repairs 🤣 I started laughing at the service tech…told him we’d be over to pick it up within the hour. Turned out the alternator that had just been replaced was faulty…it was overcharging. Switched out alternator still under warranty & that solved that problem!! We now have coil issues but we will keep fixing issues until it blows up 🤣🤣

How much do you want to bet that the Toyota parts manufacturing plant that is closing in Arkansas is just being moved across the border into Mexico to take advantage of cheap labor.
At least, citizens are not giving them " government" cash to prop them up.

As if auto makers don't use cheap labor in BEV plants in China. So there's that.
If they take the Mexicans that came over the border illegally with them. I'm OK with it. In fact move all of their operations down and maybe they go home.

Newer modern cars take almost ten years to pay it off. That’s outrageous.
We had a 1991 Lexus ES 250, and it went 330,000 miles before dying. The transmission still shifted smoothly and things like the alternator and other parts were original.

Overpriced Junk, and Toyota is not the only ones.😐
You should be careful of the dealership's service centers as well. They are increasingly scamming people to not honor warranties on work they have done and saying more needs to be done to the vehicle that's not required. Service center is their money maker, even more so now. This is what is keeping them afloat.
We just paid $1,800 to have the cooling fan assembly replaced on our 2015 Infiniti Qx60 with 85,000 miles.

I guess pricing out your customers (aka-ripping them off at every angle) has consequences. Maybe they wouldnt be closing or having stocks drop if they were concerned about the customer
The only vehicle we can’t move is the tundra
Because it’s so ugly ? Or the new engine ?
I called on a specific car at our local Toyota dealership in which we have purchased and is still new so we decided to get his and hers matching cars different color so I thought now is probably the time to inquire well the car has gone up in price and they even told me there was a $6000 markup because the color I want would probably be difficult to find which did not make any sense at all so I gave her my name and number and told her to look us up that we had just purchased a car so she knew we were serious and to call me when the price starts going down and we would talk so they never called me back
Reminds me of Volkswagen about …6 years ago? Seems like they’d learn their lesson.
If that's a big dealership. It looks like vacant and our government/ meaning taxpayers should not bailout these company executives who make millions from bad decisions.
All auto manufacturers have loaded parking lots at their dealers. These vehicles need to drop 30-40k before anyone gets excited about buying.
