+Jordan Keeler I'm sure Martyn could teach the techniques and get a mate or two to demonstrate here and there. I know Danny Macaskill is the king of trials stunts now but Martyn is one of the pioneers and has more technical skill when it comes to straight forward getting over obstacles. Other than Hans Rey there's probably not many better people to do tutorials. There's only so many times I can watch Dirty Tricks now that I'm getting back in to it after watching it every day as a kid too.
Brilliant stuff... The timed round of golf analogy with competition trials conveys an urgency to the event I did not understand before. Learned a lot about a side of the sport I've never had much exposure to.
Loved your videos Marty!! I am amazed at what trials riders can do - I started following with dirt bikes. You really amazed me with your skills. I know things have changed for you but really love / appreciate your positive attitude still to this date!! Hope to meet you someday!! Bob from NH - USA.
Martyn Ashton it is sooooooooo awesome the way you explain about yourself , you are an amazing rider who atually started the roadbike trials trend, cheers!!!!!
I'm not at all a mountain biker, more a typical roadie...and really more of a commuter now than anything, but this was a great explanation! Thanks Martyn!
Awesome description!I actually practice both enduro and trials and I think that trials riding gives you lots of ability you should have to ride an enduro bike.
can i ride street trial on a full suspension slopestyle? i dont wan't a bmx and i am not sure i want to spend a lot of money on a trials bike because it has only one purpose... if i want to ride street trials, skatepark ramps and some pumptracks should i get a slopestyle? thinking of canyon stitched 720.
Hey Martyn, I´m getting into street trials a bit and i get loads of pinch punctures from jumping onto stuff and hitting my rear wheel on the edge. I know I obviously just have to get better at it but do you have any tips on how to prevent pinch punctures? I have a rather wide rim and a big tyre but still it happens a lot. Also do you have any tips on how to practice it? I think I get the height but I don´t get forwards enough.
I gave this video a thumbs up and wish I could give it two thumbs up . I would like to get in to trials riding can you please do a trials bike buyer's guide
I was getting used to Hoping on my Rear wheel but then I Bent my 10x135mm axle and messed up my Free body Hub I was doing this on my all mountain Hard tail Its Really just built for Xc and Light Am Trail it has a Cheep WTB rear wheel. is there any Low cost way I can Fix this from Happening again? or should I get a Better wheel with Beeffyer Hubs? any Suggestions On wheel sets that Can Handle this Type of riding but also not be so bad for Mountain Biking as well.??
More difficult, but not impossible. Don't let random people on the internet discourage you from doing something because of your bike. To an extent, any form of bike riding can be done on any bike.
Volvo Cannondale had a really awesome team with Cedric and Missy but I for sure thought Martyn and Libor Karas were the most bad ass riders of that team!
It went together easily in less than an hour. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
+its me supersmartboy trackstands and some balancing stuff, yes. everything else, no. the dh bike is too heavy and that rear wheel suspension really isn't good for things like rear wheel hops..
its me supersmartboy i think they are still too heavy. trials are like 7-10 kg depending on 20", 24" or 26". but even if the dh bike is light enough the frame won't really allow you to do that many trials moves
road bike party gotta be one of my favorite videos ever. Cheers Martyn
one of your favorite? 😂 It's the best video on TH-cam 😂💪
same
Given the fact of your story and still making such a video makes you in my humble opinion an instant hero for all times. You rock marty!
Trials is hard but extremely rewarding. Every time you nail a new technique you feel a sathisfaction that few other biking sports can give.
You're such a hero mart !!!!!
Sure i'm not the only one who would like more trials related videos on this channel!
Totally agreed !! Such an amazing sport !
I see one problem, I don't think Neil or Scott are exceptionally good at trials...but I'm all for it
Global trials bike network

haha, good points. im all for martyn getting more show time, one of my favorite people of all time, let alone one of my favorite riders!
Masterclass by Martyn!
you got me into both road biking and mountain biking, thank you martyn, your such an inspiration!!
just for anyone who is unaware martyn is him- martyn Ashton and the guy on the road bike is also him
obviously almost all of you especially someone who has watched even a few of gmbn's videos will know that
Still good to point out
Anton Collett the legend
Brilliant stuff... The timed round of golf analogy with competition trials conveys an urgency to the event I did not understand before.
Learned a lot about a side of the sport I've never had much exposure to.
Chainspotting sprung to mind along with tricks and stunts, when you said that there's lots of great content out there. You're a legend Martyn.
Awesome to see a world class legend explain his sport! Loved this one. Two thumbs up likes for this one.

Legend. Your video on that road bike was the most precise thing I've ever seen. I get pinch flats just riding on the road!
Got to Love Ashton such an inspirational guy!
Martyn you are the greatest
Just yesterday I discovered who you are after stumbling onto your videos . You Are Amazing
Martyn Ashton is trials riding! you've done so much for the sport and road bike party 1&2 are the best vids ever!....(maybe after tricks and stunts)
How can you not know who Martyn Ashton is?? Dude..
I know what trials is but what I don't know is how you Martyn got to be so fucking astoundingly incredibly good at doing it.
That guy on the road bike seems pretty cool. Idk about the guy explaining it tho😂😂
Martyn Ashton it is sooooooooo awesome the way you explain about yourself , you are an amazing rider who atually started the roadbike trials trend, cheers!!!!!
i use a dirt jumper.
i'd like to build up an Inspired Skye, but they get pretty expensive for being absolutely single-purpose.
matthew kuhl I’ve been thinking about getting a dirt jumper. How easier would trials be on a dirt jumper than an XC mountain bike?
I'm not at all a mountain biker, more a typical roadie...and really more of a commuter now than anything, but this was a great explanation! Thanks Martyn!
Awesome description!I actually practice both enduro and trials and I think that trials riding gives you lots of ability you should have to ride an enduro bike.
Tempted to get a trials bike, for that simple reason + it looks fun to mess about on.
I meet brumotti back in 2019 and its absolut stunning what he can do with a roadbike🤟🏻
Danny Mack is the best
Thanks for showing the trials guy on the road bike. I will never doubt my bike again. If he can do it on a road bike anything is possibly on my MTB...
never ever will forget martin
2021 still practicing some trials moves
Don’t forget that it has its own massively successful video game franchise

What's the music in this video?
I've seen a fat bike trials video
chris akrigg has a few
+kendall connolly maybe neils needs to try that
Rick koekoek too
What if you put one foot down and you drag it so as not to lift it?
Please make a episode of "what is slopestyle mountainbiking" ?
I gave this video a thumbs up and wish I could give it two thumbs up . I would like to get in to trials riding can you please do a trials bike buyer's guide

get a stronger bike mate endro/downhill bike would be good for allround riding or a full on street hardtail
Danny and Fabio for the win
why isn't there more trials vids on this channel? got ashton on here
lol I know that.
How many breaks do they have?
Thomas Brun trials bikes have very powerful brakes on both the front and back wheel.
Is possible pratics trial or dirt whit 29er? is more difficult than 26er
More difficult, but not impossible. Don't let random people on the internet discourage you from doing something because of your bike. To an extent, any form of bike riding can be done on any bike.
Yep
Volvo Cannondale had a really awesome team with Cedric and Missy but I for sure thought Martyn and Libor Karas were the most bad ass riders of that team!
I wish Martyn could still ride like he used to.
good video
how many days does it take to make these trials? Im begginer.
Years
Didn't "you can start trials on any non-trials bike" become less true due to 26" mtb becoming much less available?
i wish i could ride trials again

doing trial on dh bike
would that work?
+its me supersmartboy trackstands and some balancing stuff, yes. everything else, no. the dh bike is too heavy and that rear wheel suspension really isn't good for things like rear wheel hops..
Delicious aren't we got the super-light way dh bike?

I still will get tired really fast, right?

I'm sure he wanted to say Hawyes after Martin😉
i thougt that marty was a tt rider
Now slopestyle! (:
Way to pimp out Road Bike Party, Martyn :)
Some guy called Martin? Don't you mean Martin Hawyes? 😉
Sixth comment!!!
He forgot the most important thing, it's fucking dangerous.
NeoDerGrose not so dangerous like road, dh or bmx
Competition trials gymnastics, nah
first
