did this today in about an hour. only because i lost a lot of daylight outside and had to maneuver the street lamps. great tutorial! the dealer wanted to charge me $350 for the mirror plus labor. "hell nah!" i thought to myself. i'm so glad you guys put this on youtube. i ordered the part, and fixed my own driver side mirror for the low low price of $65. it was my first time fixing something on my own car and this was incredibly helpful and efficient. thanks so much!!
@ J Lee You may be able to just tilt the door panel away from the door if you're careful. We carry new side view mirrors for your Nissan Maxima on our website with free shipping in the lower 48 states. Here's a link to them on our website if you would like to see what we have to offer. www.1aauto.com/2004-nissan-maxima-mirror---side-view/y-mo-c/2004-336-23?VideoReply&VideoReply&ATony
Hi Hector, Thank you for visiting our channel on TH-cam. We currently do not carry this particular part, or have a repair video for it. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states!!
Very simple and well shot video. Thank you. I only wish i saw this a month ago when my car was totalled so i could get the upgraded mirrors off before they towed it away.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I actually had to replace my mirror and didn't want to pay someone to do it and my husband... well lets just say manual labor isn't his cup of tea. He would rather pay someone to do it. I am a cheap skate lol. I am 37 and just replaced my mirror by my self thanks to you!! Thank you Thank you Thank you
Thank you for this! I have an 06' Maxima, the door pull looks a little different than the video shows however, is everything basically the same on the SE model vs. the SL Model? I plan on trying this tonight.
just asking... but with the door panel off... do you have to totally take it off? seems like you have room to work without taking off the lock cable and bottom connectors
old video i know, and i doubt you'll see this. but do you know if there was any changes between 04-05 maximas side mirror? i have an 04 and am getting a part from an 05
the part that is broken on my mirror is the black triangle part not the cover, can I replace the cover and put my original one since my car color is silver?
Thanks for the video! I would add a warning that if you don't get the wires on the door handle and lock just right, you'll be in a pickle. I got the panel back on, closed the door, and then it wouldn't open from the inside or the outside. Mechanic tried every trick in the book to get it open but couldn't. So MAKE SURE THE DOOR WILL OPEN BEFORE YOU CLOSE IT!
1A Auto Parts Yep, we eventually were able to get the door open and then were able to take off the door panel and get the wires back in place. Just thought it would be nice to give a heads up to anyone else who might run into this problem. Thanks again for the video. It saved me time and money!
Do 2006 Altima 3.5SE-R & Maxima 3.5SE have interchangeable side view mirrors? Do you know if they are compatible... What I want are power folding side mirrors and I see that the '05, '06 maxima has that feature. Can it be done? Any advise would be greatly appreciated
Hi- this video is GREAT. Do you know if the process is significantly different for a 2011 Altima? My dealership wants $300+ for the parts alone, nevermind the labor, painting, etc. I can't really afford the $450+ that it would come to right now, and your price is WAY better. I just didn't see a video that included 2011, so I wanted to be sure before buying that I would be able to install it using this technique...thanks! I may also use your live chat on your site so sorry if I duplicate this question.
Thank you for watching Valerie. Unfortunately removing the door panel is going to be different. We currently do not have a video for a 2011 but will keep it in mind for future videos. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Hi i happened to break the bracket the black part of the side view mirror. would it be possible to replace just the bracket instead of the entire mirror ?
thanks for the info! one more question is it possible to buy the base mirror and just be able to replace the bracket? do the brackets have anything to do with the type of mirror you have
is it possible to buy the base mirror housing and just replace the black bracket that holds it to the car? or do i need to buy the more expensive housing?
+Aysia buie We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
+Chanel Ashmon Yes, in 4:05 of the video you can see the wire. Here is a link to the mirrors shown in this video on our website. www.1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/Nissan/Maxima/1AMRP00468?TH-cam&CTA+Comment&LPrl-jBlsiw
This is excessive, just had mine replaced at an auto body shop for $45 and they only removed the back cover to the mirror screws without removing the whole door panel. The job was done in about 5 minutes
+ernk75 All of ours ship in black, but you could easily take it to an automotive body shop and have them paint it the proper color for you to match it up. Thanks for checking out our videos! If any of our viewers need to make this repair, we carry the part shown in this video on our website. Here's a link to them. We also offer free shipping on all orders in the US. www.1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/Nissan/Maxima/1AMRP00468?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony

I did it all by myself. Awesome. Thanks for the video. I propped the door on a stool so I didn't have to unplug everything. You saved me $100
Between this video and your video on removing the door panel, I was able to replace my 2000 Maxima side mirror. Thank you very much!

+Daniel Whitaker You may have to remove the door panel so that you can access the inside of the door to pop it open.

Will the 08 mirror fit on a 2011
You are awesome. Thank you.

+GeOD71 The mirror would not be compatible or interchangeable. They are still two different cars and will have different features in the mirrors.

can you not just replace the black plastic piece (that holds the mirror)., Or do you have to buy the entire assembly?
did you ever find an answer for this?
This is excessive, just had mine replaced at an auto body shop for $45 and they only removed the back cover to the mirror screws without removing the whole door panel. The job was done in about 5 minutes

It doesn't appear that you actually need to fully remove inner panel from the door. Is this the case?
+Jeff Hebert You will have to remove the door to access the mirror connector. 1aauto.com
