Excellent video! Exact process and all lights are now back in action, thanks! My total time was about 45 minutes, including watching this video. Saved me a ton doing it myself! Appreciate it!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have a 2006 Maxima and used your directions. A pain in the ass, but it was just as you said. You just saved me $250 in labor charges at the Nissan dealership. I also ended up saving money by not buying the expensive stock Nissan halogen lights and bought standard 9006 halogen lights. They're not as bright and the tabs needed to be slightly adjusted but all is good.
Not necessary. I’ve changed my headlight bulbs a few times. Only a 5-10 minute job. I go through the wheel well. You can turn the wheel to get a little room or remove the wheel and it’s easier. I’ve done both ways. Just remove the screws around the edge of the wheel well and the screw on the bottom of wheel well under the front of the bumbler, peel back the wheel well liner reach in and remove the bulb. EASY!
Wow- I can't thank you enough for this! Last year I replaced the driver's side light, and I opted to go by another video that showed how to do it through the wheel well- this procedure looked too complicated. That light took about 3 hours , most of it cursing. This time I decided to try this technique, and it was so much easier. Absolutely no problems at all, and less than a half hour! Thanks again!
+skotrock Thank you for the positive feedback, we really appreciate it! If you have a minute, drop us a review on our Facebook page to let other people know about your experience with us. Here's a link: facebook.com/1AAuto/reviews/
Thanks for guiding me through it on my wife's NM 2007. I pulled the bulb twist-out instead of the wiring-connects for the running lights below. On the main units the wiring-connects were very real buggers. Nevertheless, ...we can now SEE at night again !! All thanks to you. Thanks so much Mike. 1AAuto is now on my short list for parts - down the road. KV - WNC
I want to thank you for the excellent video. I was able to replace the HID bulbs in my daughter's car in less than 2 hours. The list of tools in the beginning was very handy.
THANK YOU.!!!!!!!!!!!!! great video made removing the bumper of the maxima way easy i watched this video enough to memorize it and and it took me less then 10 minutes to have the bumper removed and it was not heavy to set down or put back on, everything just fell in to place thanks alot. dont be afraid like i was lol its not hard at all. thanks 1A AUTO PARTS.
Thanks pal. It's unfortunate that nissan had to make it so utterly complicated just to simply replace a blown light bulb. But atleast i know how to do it now lol. I have put my maxima up for sale because i am sick of crap like this that nissan has done. Theyve made it a hassle to replace even the simplest things..but enough ranting lol. thanks for the great video
Great video, had to change one out and this was a crystal clear video of how to... Even tho it took me forever to just get the headlight out all the nuts and bolts were exactly where you said. Thank you so much for this video!!
How about a video on clutch replacement? I have a 2004 6spd and clutch is going to need replacement soon, would be nice to have an idea of how to go about it.

I have a 2004 Maxima with HID headlights. I have a passenger side headlight with a crack in it which caused water to leak in my headlight and ruin it. I was wondering if I could replace the HID headlight with a Halogen Headlight assembly. Would I need to make any modifications to my car or do I just plug it in and install it?
great video, is there a way know which type of headlight bulb an 06 Maxima uses with out taking out the bulb first? the manual states D2S for xenon and 9012 for Halogen
You can't replace just the lens because it's a fused piece from the factory. The headlight assembly may be removed in a similar way as the halogen ones in this video. There may be a few different steps in removing them. Here's a link to them on our website. Just copy and paste into your browser 1aauto.com/1A/HeadLights/Nissan/Maxima/1ALHP00936/561689/2006?ATony
@1Aauto. nice review. by any chance you know the what bulbs do those headlights require? I saw 3 different looking bulbs and I'm planning on changing them myself thank you.
You would have to remove the bulb to see what type it takes, or the dealer could run your VIN# and tell you what your car came equipped with. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Your video is awesome, I do however have a quick question that 1aauto might be able to answer. I have a 2005 nissan maxima, and the little metal locking clip( squeezed it in to release)that you released to actually change the bulb for the socket, what is the part and where can I find it!? I'm at a loss, and I don't want to buy a whole new mount from the dealership! Can you please give some direction?? Thanks!!
+Matt Murray Thanks for watching! Those are metal retaining clips that are part of the the assembly. You cannot purchase those individually to my knowledge, you will have to get a complete assembly. We have them for sale here! www.1aauto.com/1A/HeadLights/Nissan/Maxima/1ALHP00699?TH-cam&CTA+Comment&P2bhyaswOhU
Great Video. I have an 05 maxima se and both my headlights have been going out on me but i can turn the switch on then back on and light work for a little before 1 (PS/DS) goes out again. I guess i have to get the HID set but that almost 1000 for the pair i hope i can find some for less.
You may also want to check the headlight switch to see if it may be going bad. Check the back of it for excessive heat damage. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
Thank you for the video. Would you happen to know the size for all three bulbs on a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE? could I purchase them at an auto store ($) and not at the dealer ($$$$)? Could I use Halogen (cheaper bulb) or do I need HID? Don't have the manual and 1AAuto.com has given me more info on my vehicles than anyone else. Thank you for understanding the not so wealthy people and thank you again for all your time and effort.
We currently do not have the bulb sizes on file. If you take the bulbs out, they should have a part number on them. Here's a pretty good site where you can look up you application too. hope this helps you out. www.sylvania.com/en-us/applications/automotive-lighting-systems/Pages/lrgmain.aspx#fldYear
Hey there, I have 2005 Maxima and I need to change the front turning signal bulb, please tell me there's an easier way than what you did in this video!
+AM MD Thank you for checking us out. In some cases you may pull back the fender well lining, but if you are unable to access it on this side you may follow our video procedure. 1aauto.com
Hello again, Thank you for your response, I saw the video when they remove the fender well liner, but what I actually did is; I removed the water bottle to have more room and I also removed a triangular plate that holds the bottle and I changed the signal bulb without removing anything else. I wanted to share that with you because I thought this might be easier for inexperienced people like me. Thank you.

If they turn off completely, there may be an issue with the headlight switch, or if they tend to be dim, look for a loose ground wire in the engine compartment. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
i want to change my lights to hid but i dont know what to do with that silver plug because the new hid i bought already have the plug and another convertion box
I would like to know what type of bulb it is. I have a 06 Nissan Maxima, same as the one in the video, and i would like to change the original stock HID bulb it haves to a after market HID bulb but i need to know exactly what type of bulb it is. All I know is that the OEM lighting system of my Maxima haves hi/low in the same bulb, any help it will be greatful, thanks
+William Pyatt We currently do not have that information available to us. If you remove the bulb, there should be a part number on it that you can match up at your local auto parts store.

How much would it cost me to replace the whole headlight unit? Mine is busted up and broken plastic is blocking my bulb. It looks as if my headlight is burnt out.
Thanks for the video! I have an 05 Maxima with the Halogen Assembly. It looks like the connection plug is the same. Can I purchase the HID Assembly you sell and swap out with the Halogen Assembly? Thank you 1AAuto!
Please advise the part number(s) and the quantity for the required clips when generally break due to age. The plastic clips often break due to age. This is a good time to replace ALL of the plastic clips. Please also advise the part numbers for ALL of the lamps as this is a good time to replace ALL of the lamps.
