I did the same. I looked at Kelvin and went “bro why are you having a life crisis?” And then proceeded to use my axe on him 😳 my boyfriend and I played together a week later and he informed me that Kelvin could be beneficial. My first thing I said was “dang there goes my free labor”
Within the first few minutes of game play, Kevin found out that he could kill his buddy, learned that doing so broke the game, and had to start over Classic Kevin. This is why Kevin's the best
Its ironic that among the youtubers that I've seen with the beach crash opening cutscene, only Kevin, the most chaotic one, realized that Kelvin was possibly trying to help him out of being trapped inside a sinking helicopter. Most of the others I watched immediately thought that it was Kelvin who was drowning and hitting the helicopter door for some stupid reason.

I know Kevin was a bit worried about moving to primarily more long form content, but the way youtube trends are going right now, it actually fits with what's more popular lately. My guess would probably to do with shorter form content getting really short (aka yt shorts or tiktok), which makes the fast paced nature of like 5-10 minute youtube videos feel slow in comparison, whereas long form content feels slow too but you're able to get more in depth and feel more invested in what you're watching. Previously 10-20 minute youtube videos were the ones that typically did the best consistently in terms of gaming content (of course there's always outliers and its different for other genres), but now its trending towards 30-40 minutes videos, or even over an hour. I much prefer it too, because if I want a quick 10 minutes of entertainment, I'll probably not even open youtube, but if I wanna sit down and watch something for a while, or having something playing in the background, the really long videos here are perfect. I find myself to be more interested throughout the whole video too, which I never expected (for real, I watch a two several hour long videos analysing a kids tv show). My point is that I'm really glad Kevin is going in this direction, and I hope he's happier for the change as well.
Yeah, but it's frustrating when his intelligence is at the level of a three year old. He literally has a bigger axe in his inventory, can literally tell Kelvin to finish placed building so that he doesn't just pick up the same logs over and over, and he was literally staring at the object he was trying to find (the rope on the rock). He's great at entertainment, but I swear, it feels like he just turns off his brain at times...

But now the kid has like something inside him. I think this games main character is that kid, or I thought he was going to be the MC for this game. Other weird stuff happens and the experiments were all done with children that had a terminal illness.
