    I went ahead and bought one of these and when I got it I was shocked to see the ventilation so open on the bottom half. You can see through the welder itself. Thats a place for junk dust and stuff to collect. I haven't welded with it yet but I do have to say I wish that would have been pointed out. Thank you for the instruction and the review. I bought this machine because you said it works flawlessly. Not every company puts it out like weldpro did, very informative.

    Thanks guys, I've had quite a few requests by phone to see what I have in my little shop, LOL, but it's so small and so crowded I'm almost embarrassed to make a video, but I'm going to. I think I'll do it at the end of a video with a few more tips for both the MIG welder as well as the TIG welder. That way I can add something informative in the beginning of the video and anyone who wants to stick around and take a peek at my mess can. It always seems that after you do something you realize you leave a few small things out that you wish you spoke about so that folks with these welders would have an even easier time learning the ins and outs.

    I really like how small, compact, and portable this is compared to ahp, primeweld, and eastwood (analog tig). Linlong makes this machine as well as eastwoods tig200 analog ac/dc. The only thing i dont like is the bright yellow color, when i do get one, ill plastidip or peelcoat the case. How good is the foot pedal? Is an upgrade to the ssc foot pedal necessary? Or does it perform the same?

    • @joewest2560
      @joewest2560 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The SCC pedal is a different profile, wider and parallel to the floor at wide open, which lots of folks like

    If you can be honest, would you recommend this machine as my first TIG machine/weld? I have a Miller 211 mig and Lincoln stick welder already.

    • @joewest2560
      @joewest2560 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeff, I certainly can be honest. Using this machine still brings a smile to my face. I highly recommend it. Buy the version with the CK torch, you won't be sorry. Another pretty good feature of this machine should you buy it, is me. If you call tech support I'll be the guy that answers the phone and helps you through understanding the settings and the usage, and I'm available 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. eastern time. For what it's worth. All kidding aside, it is nice to have someone you can ask specific questions to rather than having to scratch your head for hours trying to figure them out on your own 🙂👍

    Let's say it's being used in TIG mode. If the machine is turned off for the welder to take a smoke break, will everything be ready to resume when he switches the power back on, or will he have to press buttons, such as toggle away from MMA to get it back into TIG mode?

    I have just bought this machine, first time using it I decided to weld aluminum took a guess at settings and worked very well. I am trying to get my balance and frequency better. Any suggestions on this ? Thanks fir a good video.

    • @joewest2560
      @joewest2560 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, of course you can call me and I can discuss settings in more detail, the support number for weldpro will reach me, but... AC frequency at 110 to 120 in most cases is a good choice. Exceptions perhaps dirty aluminum castings where I would go much lower 40 to 60 hz and very thin aluminum where I might increase it to 180 or so. Now AC balance, very important to use just the amount of reverse polarity needed to clean the oxide. This provides two things, cooler tungsten and torch as well as better penetration. Usually on aluminum that you have prepped properly and cleaned with acetone, AC balance of 30 is just fine.

      Hi Michael this is Joe I am actually the same Joe that is working with weldpro now to help with their technical issues. It would be my great privilege to help you understand the settings and the intricacies that go along with welding aluminum. We can always be reached I'm available 7 days a week to help you. Basically welding aluminum requires a few specific settings one of which would be alternating current at approximately 1 amp per thousand thickness plus 10% when using a foot pedal 6513292686 I'd be happy to spend as much time with you as you would like to understand the settings more completely because it isn't carved in stone it is dependent on many different things. I do look very much forward to speaking with you

      @@joewest2560 Hello infamous Joe... smile. I spent some time speaking with Roberto today in regards to the welder. I like many features about the welder, but find it difficult to gather specs and or information about the unit. In my research, I see it's pretty much the same as the Sherman made by Linlong, which is fine and of no concern, but since I'm about to buy a welder, AHP201XD or this one, I could really use some insight. My needs are of middle to high personal use. I like the up slope and down slope through finger trigger as I will be welding in various ackward positions. I will call in hopes that you can help with some of the specifics as Roberto say's you are he man..

      That is balance

    • @joewest2560
      @joewest2560 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Im sorry I didn't reply sooner but yes it is the balance control, and know that some machines set their balance in terms of percentage of DC + and some as a percentage of DC - we set our machines as a percentage of DC +, reverse polarity so when you set the balance on this machine you want to favor 30 to 35%. You would like most of your AC welding done with more duration of straight polarity and just a small percentage done with reverse polarity as the current alternates, enough to clean your work and break the oxide, but not so much dcep to send the heat back up toward your tungsten and torch which is the direction current flows during dcep and can damage your torch.

    • @joewest2560
      @joewest2560 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are two dinse connectors in the front of the machine, one for the electrode and of course one for your work clamp. Depending on the polarity will depend on which is for what. Usually the electrode will go to the Plus and the work lamp will go to the minus based on the welding rods design and the manufacturers recommendation. Then tap the button to toggle from TIG to MMA (stick) With this machine you can also toggle to AC current for stick welding. Should you be interested, the manual is in PDF form on the Weldpro website.
