I'm so proud I saw this work of art today, I cried through the whole work of art. As a 260lbs black man I felt even more hopeless for my people and I cried like a baby, I was the last out of the theater, there were a few white that looked to me and wanted to console me , but they exited the theater in silence looking back at me. I'm crying as I write this because we are doomed as a people who didn't ask to come to this country. I'm so hurt inside, I'm so sad for my black children to leave them behind in this world where we are still looked upon as 3rd world citizens. Thank you Nate Parker for opening my eyes a bit more, I'll never forget what I witnessed today at the AMC 30 in Ontario California. Thank you for your work of art, I will carry it in my heart forever, thank you Nat X for your courage. Nuff Respect ✊

Tony Turner you might be a direct descendant of the man Nate Parker brought to the screen. This film was sabotaged by outside forces because of its central theme INDEPENDENCE.Turner did not wait for others to do for him what he did for himself and his family.

So much love and respect on this set. As a director, I admire Nate because he treats everyone with respect, even to the last extra. Regarding the case, I believe that if he really did have non-consensual sex with the late woman, acquitted or not, he should take accountability.

Why do you just believe he did that? Because some random chick says so without no evidence?

Trudy Parker had to deal with harassment while CASEY AFFLECK had ZERO media attention for his rape case in 2010 that he SETTLED out of court for whereas Parker was ACQUITTED.Trudy where was the feminists groups when Affleck was making his film but they found time to attack Parker while he was making his movie.

All praises to the Most High! this was an excellent movie really showed the bondage and curses we suffer as a people (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) I love the part where Nat quoted a scripture to give our people hope.
