Scotts seem to have a similar kind of humour as folks from Hamburg, Germany. Does it have something to do with the weather? We call that "nothern german bbq weather" :D Of course just a few actually have bbq in pouring rain or snow.

Seeing the trauma some of these cows deal with makes you wonder how painful it truly is, just imagine having your foot injured. Every step all day every day would be debilitating.
@@WGTNmarineLife I firmly believe that humans have a responsibility to provide good care to the animals we use for food, both out of practicality (healthy animal = healthy food) and out of respect for what they provide to us. Most of the cows he works on are dairy cows, so they're providing sustenance over a long period of time, and deserve to be maintained and well-cared-for throughout that time.
Things that make you go ooh! 🤣. So glad that these cows have their feet trimmed regularly, otherwise that poor girl would have been suffering for a long time.
To anyone who wants to complain about the cow moved he didn't hurt her. He pushed on it and the pain inflated. Notice how after that she stayed put. I grew up on a dairy farm and i remember my grandfather and dad trimming hooves in the barn. We didnt have any equipment just a stall and rope. I know that this is a very necessary job and you do it very well ❤

Few days ago i had an amazing moment. I sit on the couch with a bunch of friends and we are telling each other what kind of videos we watch on youtube. I mention that i look some hoof trim videos on cows. And we all said togheter in union "ohh i look the hoofgp" love it 😂

Rain falling creates a down draft. The rain is pushed out from the center of the storm by the wind. When the rain is at an angle, that angle points to the direction of the storm. As the storm passes, the angle will change depending on if it is coming or overhead or leaving.
Great Job guys. When that Cow started jumping when you hit her sore spot/painful area I jumped to. It was so unexpected. I just opened up here just now and started raining in my neck of the woods. I would say take your rainy weather back but it's a welcomed sight and the cooler temperatures to go with it. It is a very refreshing sight too. After an extremely hot and long dry summer. I can highly recommend visiting Scotland, especially during the summer months. Just a fair warning, even during summer there will be rain and the Scots have this awful insect called a highland midge but aside from those two potential irritants, the countryside is gorgeous, the people are warm and welcoming (especially if you can share a pint with them). If you get the opportunity, you absolutely must go see the Hebrides and the highland in general. The lowlands are gorgeous as well, but there's something truly haunting about the rolling hills of the highland.

I'm always impressed at how little the cows struggle. It'd be really cool if they were smart enough to realize that as hard as it might be to go through a trim, they'd feel a lot better afterwards. But I have to figure it's more that they know they're stuck and can't escape anyway.

Right about 3:57 she jumps. Ouch! I know you feel bad too. Is there some kind of Lidocaine spray you can use to numb the area when you realize it's sensitive? I don't think it's expensive as it's an older numbing agent. Or maybe you need to watch for their reaction to know what's going on. But thank you for all you do for these sweet girls.
The issue is those sprays and creams only numb the surface of skin wounds and he would need a license and veterinary training to a extent to use injectables
Sometimes what is hurting them is just pressure without any live tissue being revealed. A lidocaine spray would do absolutely nothing on the surface of solid hoof. As someone else mentioned he's not a licensed vet and can't inject, and by the time he has reached live tissue he has opened up the cavity that was holding the pressure causing the pain and relieved the pain as well. As an aside it's not always pain that'll make a cow jump. Sometimes they are just getting impatient to be free again, or they've convinced themselves they have seen a ghost 😅
@@EdieDawnJay exactly, some people don't realise how strict the rules are in the UK concerning things like injectables so can understand questions regarding them (even qualified vet nurses are limited to what they can and can't inject), but these people would also be shocked at how often vets actually sort things out like abscesses without anaesthetic (sometimes it actually causes more pain than it relieves as the pressure that it causes can be very very intense and worse than any blade cutting the area)

We see the cow crush used to safely contain a variety of sizes and strengths of cows-it holds their tummies and necks, and keeps their legs tied so they can’t thrash around. Highly effective, fairly safe even for stressed cows, lets the hoof trimmers work quickly and safely and do a good job without worrying about cows kicking out. So why are these never used with horses? If anyone has answers I’d love to hear about it, but it seems to me like there would be a lot of instances where they’d be very useful-say for drafts that rarely have their feet lifted, or feral roundups, or auction rescues-even horses that are normally tolerant but have severe pain in multiple feet, preventing them from standing g nicely.

And they're such big heavy animals and have such small feet in comparison. So much weight concentrated on each foot!
And it's ingrained in them as prey animals to hide that pain.
