Welcome back! We understand too. I do TH-cam as a hobby, not for money. Many people underestimate how long it takes to edit and make a quality video. I'm behind too, due to an injury from last month which I've fully recovered from now, and having moved house within the same suburb just to a different street. Yes DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is a very useful and popular device which quickly sold out not long after launch before DJI could make more of them. I enjoy the calm and friendly approach you put into your videos.
Well your TH-cam hobby is certainly doing well with all your subs! Yeah, it sure does take a lot of planning and editing for sure with any video. Yikes, sorry to hear about your injury 😢 That's always my fear of getting injured! Thank you for your kind words!
Your posts are greatly appreciated. Cause of your recommendations, I bought the pocket 3 and action 4. It was excellent advice and the rebirth of my TH-cam Channel. Also started my travel vlogging in Tokyo. Much love❤
Thank you sir! I really appreciate your kind words and it's awesome to hear you going strong on TH-cam! I subbed and am interested to watch your Japan vlogs since I'll be going next week!
@TravelingAhn Definitely do all your research beforehand. There are so many hidden spots. 7 nights, and I only scratched the surface. My family and I are thinking of going back to Japan in April before going home to Toronto.
Glad to see you back, fit and well. We all have to go where the flow takes us. Well, we don't have to but it's easier than fighting against the current. I wish I could do half of that gym stuff. I've been trying to get back in shape for a while after two years of inactivity but the flow is taking me elsewhere presently! Keep smiling. Thanks for the videos.
Good to see you back :) Life throws those curveballs for sure, had a few myself last few weeks - getting back to it and glad to see you are doing the same. Oh on Subway -yeah sad to see them cause any others to go out of business, especially local establishments, they are pretty bottom of the barrel here quality wise in the US and also a very predatory franchise that treats is business owners poorly (at least here in the US). BTW - get nervous watching those bench presses - get a spotter LOL ;)
Hello Brian! Yeah, it's nice to get back to it! I'll have to check out your new videos. Haven't had time to watch my usual subs. Yeah, Subway Sandwiches is not a business I'm happy about at all here in Korea (hahaha). I try to go really slow in my progressive overload and never do 1RPM, so try to be safe as possible!
Welcome back! Your energy and personality - so endearing. Looking forward to more videos. I just got the pocket 3 but haven't unboxed it yet - so I'm really enjoying these videos.
Dope content. My daughter bought me the OSMO Pocket 3; three months ago, and I haven't uploaded any content yet, but the frictionless setup is prompting me to start posting on my channel again after 4 years away; life has been busy. :)
Hello Shawn, thank you for your kind words! Yeah, the Pocket 3 is amazing! Yeah I took a 4 month hiatus, so I kind of understand where you are coming from! But its really cathartic making videos and sharing your thoughts out on the ether!
Welcome back, I was gone for a bit as well. Its super hard to keep going, I fully know what it takes to do all this, and for free, it has to be a labor of love as it has been one of the most manic things I have done in my life. I came to the conclusion, do what you want, and make it a hobby not a job. End of day, what works on TH-cam isn't quality, but from one creator to another, LFG!
Thank you man! That really is inspiring to hear! Yeah, at the end of the day...I want to do this because I love camera gear and making content! If others enjoy it...that's just a bonus! BTW....I had look up what LFG meant (hahaha)
Welcome back! So, thoughts on the video settings: I don't think I'm digging the black mist, overall. I think the sweet spot for me is using D-Log M with sharpness and noise reduction both at -2 and using a proper strength ND (VND's are really ideal for this), even if you leave shutter in auto. My thoughts are if you expose for a proper shutter speed and then switch to auto shutter, you're still getting close to proper shutter speed but allowing the camera to adjust accordingly. If the shutter speed bumps from 50 to 100 and back to 50 during a vlog, I don't think it will be obvious. If you go through a shadow and it doesn't properly expose for your face, how is that different from what you would see with the naked eye? If you're shooting b-roll, then dial everything in. If you're not switching positions during the vlog, leave face tracking off but if you are, leave it on. Vlog story thoughts: Great intro, and great flow for your workout. Thoughts on obstacles: My biggest obstacle is time and focus. I already manage my time in 30 minute intervals and I always feel like I NEVER have enough time. If I can cut that into 15-minute intervals and see if that helps.
Tim, as usual...really love the great feedback! I think that's where the new variable ND's shine for your preferred setting! I agree completely with the face-tracking on/off scenarios you shared. I hear you on the managing time issue! That would be pretty crazy to cut your time to 15 min intervals (hahaha)
Hello Adam! I'm so glad to see and hear you! I'd like to say a few things following your video: 1) How do I feel? Like a guy after a heavy loss, as you know my friend ;) 2) You've put on a lot of muscle mass, haven't you? when I see you doing your exercises, I feel bad for you, but bravo, you look great! I can't do it :) 3) I've noticed that all over the world the big chains are flooding the market, in every country, even in Asia, they're killing tradition, and that's why I don't like towns any more, everything looks the same! Long live the countryside, it's the only refuge we have left for our identity! (more or less depending on the region) Thank you Adam, PEACE! :)
Hello Michael! So sorry for the late response. You definitely make a compelling case with living in the countryside! How are you doing? I'm hoping to start making videos soon. How about you as well? I hope all is well for you my friend!
@@TravelingAhn it’s in the works but working on a few other things as well. Took a week break but back 👊🏼 also my Sunnylife mount just got delivered today 👀
Hey mate, Welcome back! hope you are well now and thanks for asking how we are. No soda drinks more coffee and chocolate, well that's my excuse, i am lead to believe its quite cheap in general there for drinks in comparison to aus its around 5-6 dollars for a cup these days which is annoying but feel its always been priced high. I was over in japan in the winter however my settings i found to work while out vlogging was 4k/16.9 60fps HB dlog 10bit minus 2 sharpness minus 1 noise, the exposure and wb are auto. Basically one of your settings videos inspired me to change a few settings while i was over there as i felt originally it was very grey, i am curious to hear your feedback while there for the summer period obviously a lot more light will help.
Hello Aaron, Yeah...Coffee is definitely cheaper in Korea, if you're willing to go with the cheaper kinds 😂 Thank you for sharing your settings while in Japan! Were you using the Action 4 I assume? I'm glad that I was able to help you in some way in the past! I will definitely be vlogging in Japan and hopefully the cherry blossoms will be blooming!
@@TravelingAhnyes indeed, sometimes cheap coffee is all you need. Yeah all while using the action 4, the days we were at Disney etc required a lot more work as it was dark in those places. I would hope you’ll see some but then it might have already finished by the time your there? It has started in the city centre while I was over there
Glad to see you back. I finally order the magnetic base that you talked about awhile ago. Keep up the good work. I am gearing up for a trip next week to Queenstown New Zealand (my home country). Going to zipline and maybe do a bungy jump. Happy days
