    Hello Andy.
    Fiio has launched an upgrade cable namely LS-TC1 which is basically a 0.78mm 2pin with Type C port with an inbuilt DSP chip.
    Will this cable work with any 0.78mm 2pin IEMs like Salnotes Zero, Tripowin Lea and many others or will it work specifically with Fiio IEMs like FD11 or FH11?
    Is it smart to purchase such DSP cable?

    • @donglemadness
      @donglemadness  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will be hard for me to talk about something which I don't have in hand, but assuming that FiiO built this LS-TC1 for universal usage, then I would assume it will work with any IEMs that has dual pin 0.78, also depends on how recessed the female side of it

    Hi, Andy. I'm big fan of your works. For me, your channel is one stop solution for any query related to portable Dongle DAC.
    I started experiencing Hir-Res. music recently. Currently I have EW200, Samsung S20FE 5G mobile phone, Samsung USB C to 3.5 adapter & Apple Music subscription only and a ATH M50X too. It will be very helpful to get your views on the undermentioned:
    Q.1.) Is the EW200 and M50X go well with CDA M1P or DAWN Pro? Or something else u suggest, considering future IEM/Headphone upgradability. My music preference is also like yours- "Analog musical sound".
    Q.2.) This is not related to EW200. Since You have a lot of experience, I also have a question "How is the comparison between a 300 USD Headphone (like Hifiman Sundara or others) vs similar priced any good IEM considering all aspect."
    Thanks... for your regular review and contribution in this particular field of knowledge.

    • @donglemadness
      @donglemadness  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your support!.
      Now, moving on from Samsung USB C to either M1P and DAWN Pro is already an improvement. The question now is what you would like more because both M1P and DAWN Pro will synergize great with EW200 and M50x too. Just remember this, both dongles are 4.4/3.5 type which means that to get 100% output when it comes to power, you need to use the 4.4 side of it, watch my other video on this subject and you will understand what I mean. EW200 is an IEM that appreciates power scaling so it will sound more open if you patch it to the 4.4mm BAL side.
      As for which one to go for, since you mentioned you have similar sound appreciation to mine, then absolutely I will recommend M1P over DAWN Pro.
      Comparison of $300 headphones to similarly priced IEMs? well this is a tricky one because one thing I have learned from the last three years was that price does not necessarily determine sound quality and performance. I have a few $300 headphones I use regularly like Sennheiser HD600, HD650, HiFiMan Sundara etc. what I do know is that HD600 being a legend for 25 years now, is still one of the very best regardless of price, because I prefer it more over the expensive HD800s. How does that even compute yes? haha. As for comparison perspective to IEMs, something like Simgot EA500 comes very close to matching HD650 sort of sound, and Hidizs MP145 is outright superior than HiFiMan Sundara in terms of technicalities - I hope you can see my perspective here. Ultimately always remember this, the only thing that matters is what you find pleasing to your own ears, we human tend to perceive sonic resonances different from one another.
      Cheers.

    • @donglemadness
      @donglemadness  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. I definitely feel that HZ HMirror ZERO deserves more credits, it is a refined and more balanced implementation of the legendary og HM. Compared to EW200, HM Zero tuning is geared towards crispness of sound and closer to V sound curve target, a bit more energy with dynamics. EW200 is less V curved in contrast, which may be more appealing if you like closer to neutral target. I would say that between the two they are closely matched technically

      @@shogun5436 Hard to say, OG HM is very bright and energetic, both EW200 and EA500 are more balanced and closer to neutral so you may find both less exciting than the highly colored OG HM.
