I got the Walansee one for £25 - works a treat. It only makes two holes but my lawns are small. Plus it’s fast to use because you just put your foot in the middle…you don’t have to stand hard on it. I clean it out between use and it’s never clogged. I have clay soil in back lawn so using this tool + gypsum has massively improved drainage
@@leefenton9477 so far I’ve used it twice this year, straight after using the walansee aerator thing. It might be coincidence but the lawn drains better and is way less patchy
Walensee made from chinesium lol. Not that great with soft parts of soil as well. Had to finish the aeration couple days ago with it but definitely that thing will be returned. Will invest one of these off season %100
Ive also got the walansee with a clay soil and it blocks all the time, spend more time unblocking it than using it. It will do a run ok for 5minutes but then once it starts blocking it does it continuously.
Got this 1 month ago, I was very excited, but as the lad said bolt slot do round out, handles slides of on first 5 goes 😂, so blistering will happen anyway, and another thing the frame did end up bent a bit after 2 day use, so something to look out for. Thanks
They are all good bits of kit but so expensive for what they do,I might as well rent a petrol aerator for the day for that price and make my job alot quicker

Sounds class. I guess if you’ve got a smaller lawn, and I’m in that boat, it’s ideal 👍🏻
Can I ask how often you have been applying gypsum 👍

Is this the swardman?
@@modmon3567 no it’s the other one.
When are we gonna see next doors lawn progress?
could you fit cycle grips to the handle (the foam tube type) to make it less hard on the hands?
Great shout 👍🏻
Would the solid tines cause more compaction since you're pushing soil down?
Spot on
Solid tines have needle-like effect, hence lateral compaction, not vertical. For compaction effect, numbers matter too: distance between adjacent tines = 10cm, tine's diameter = 1cm, meaning avaraged linear compaction below 10%. Finally, remember the holes won't stay there forever ;)

It’s a shame that you can’t get many with the ejector for cheaper. Took me a few years before I picked up the Swardman
@@NoviceGardener yh definitely mate,it's hard work as well
I got mine delivered for £13 and its as good as anything. Why spend more? 😂😂
I had the Walensee Lawn Coring Aerator, but I've since replaced it with the Vanpein Lawn Aerator
How have you found the Vanpein? I'm on the fence on this or the Artemis, with it costing 3x more
