Useless factoid: The Gibson Les Paul featured in this video used to belong to Joe Perry from Aerosmith. Not only did Perry lose the guitar in a divorce settlement in 1984, his ex-wife cold-heartedly pawned the guitar off to a music shop who sold it to guitarist Eric Johnson. When Perry was offered to buy the guitar back, he couldn’t come up with the cash and it ended up in Slash’s possession in 1989. Joe would receive the guitar back as a birthday gift from Slash in 2000, when he turned 50

Congratulations, your senses are in tune otherwise you wouldnt react that way. music is universal. there is great music from EVERY generation of every nation, music IS THE truly universal language.speaking from listening to EVERYTHING from classical through every genre. you hear similar but very subtle discords (notes that shouldn't be played together) as the produce distortion in the sound of the music that changes your brain as you weren't expecting it.
Some people dont hear that dissonance so the music just sounds BAD to them.i feel very very sorry for those people.
other people are born with perfect pitch they can identify any note played to them. most have to spend years listening to music learning how the sounds of the notes interact with each other.do yourself and ears a favour and have a listen to "Fleetwood mac""s "Albatross" its an instrumental but that was the first record i heard that took me away with it. you WONT be disappointed. btw, i am over 70, just love music

Slash is an incredible guitarist as he makes his guitar tracks fit so well, especially with songs containing piano. Estranged being another perfect example of how Slash creates epic guitar tracks to accompany piano. In the November Rain video, the guitar he's using used to belong to none other than Joe Perry, lead guitarist of Aerosmith. Joe found out that Slash owned it and wanted to buy it back from Slash who refused several times. Years later out of the goodness of his heart, Slash gave the guitar back to Joe as a birthday present. A song I can recommend by Guns N' Roses is Move To The City live in Tokyo 1992 as most band members have their own solo in the instrumental part. It's So Easy, Nightrain and Rocket Queen also from live in Tokyo 1992 are bangers. Every song on Appetite For Destruction is a banger. Civil War, You Could Be Mine, Estranged, Locomotive, Pretty Tied Up, Breakdown, Yesterdays, 14 Years, Konckin' On Heavens Door from Use Your Illusion 2 album. Don't Cry, Live & Let Die, Garden Of Eden, Back Off Bitch, Bad Obsession, Right Next Door To Hell, Don't Damn Me, Dead Horse and the epic 10min 12sec Coma.

Defining who was better at the time is subjective, but GNR had way more fans and were much bigger than Metallica at the time. GNR was by far the biggest band in the world for about a 4-5 year period. Then they just stopped making music. This song is part of a trilogy which includes Don't Cry and Estranged (arguably one of the best songs they wrote), all slower paced with some sublime guitar work from the genius that is Slash, his melodies are stunning. Civil War, Welcome To The Jungle, Pretty Tied Up all amazing and there's a run of tracks on Use Your Illusion 2 that are joyous - Don't Damn Me, Bad Apples, Dead Horse and the ten minute epic Coma. Dive in MB, you'll love it.

I can't accurately express how immensely important this song (and those albums ) were to me as an 15 year-old who knew nothing about nothing.

I wasn't able to listen to it for over 20 years, only really being able to hear it in its entirety about 3 years back without breaking down. I missed it. The slow start, the buildup, the epic solos and the outro. One of their best compositions.
