Duro y fiable, gasta una cantidad ridícula de gasolina para ser un 1.8 y ningún problema de entidad, estoy bien contento con el coche, alemanes nunca más.

Ive just picked a cheap one of these up, 2007 model, yet in comparison to many same age and some older my spec/trim seems to be lower, i dont have the double dim radio/aircon unit, i habe an older dial version, and i don't habe folding mirrors or leather seats. It doesnt have cruise control which was a big disappointment. But only cost £500 so cant grumble too much.

Hi mate, I see you’re from the UK as you’re using £. I’m in the UK aswell, had a 2005 Avensis just like the one in this video for around 2 years, its the 1.8 VVTi petrol, it’s been a fantastic car, only spent money on services and MOT really. It sounds you got the most basic trim level. Mine is a T3-X, so I’ve got power folding mirrors, heated mirrors, auto dimming rear view mirror, dual zone climate control/air con. But because mine is older it didn’t have the later double din screen/sat nav, and it doesn’t have cruise control which I really miss from my old car, but I don’t do many long journeys so it’s not a big deal for me. I fitted a Sony DAB Bluetooth stereo last year, so that’s my music easily sorted.
For £500 you got a bargain I think. Mine was £1200 2 years ago, and was 101k miles when I got it. In very good condition inside and out too, no rust at all😁
      What’s the mileage on yours?

@@jonnygti Hi thanks for reply. Mine is a T2 D4D which yes is mid range model i believe, the car is very high millage but had replacement engine at some point so all the miles arn't on that engine. 240'000 miles on clock but believe this engine has under 100'000.
The car drives fine and is ok but body work not brilliant, nr side rear wing had repair to wheel arch and honestly needs redoing as not a great job (untidy).
It was purchased as a cheap ride untill i can afford something better but i said that about my last car and had that 5 years untill it blew turbo other week lol.
Thing is it was a Mazda 6 tds and although a year older than toyota was a far better car in terms of trim and ride, i suppose i just expected a younger car to be better lol.
I can deal with older trim but i am shocked that the car doesnt have steering wheel lock as standard and i was lead to believe looking online it had adjustable steering wheel hight but again it doesnt.

@@seanhomar5945 oh I see, but for £500 you can’t expect too much? Ha ha!
Funny you mention the steering lock, I always thought my cars steering lock was just broken, because when the key is out of the ignition, I tried turning the steering wheel slightly left and right to try to engage the lock, but it doesn’t lock, so I assumed that the lock was broken, I honestly didn’t know that some cars didn’t come with a steering lock? I thought it was a standard feature on all cars from the 90’s upwards? Are you 100% we haven’t got cars with broken steering locks? 😂 saying that, I’ve been driving for nearly 20 years, I’ve never had a car with a broken steering lock. I’m really not bothered about it anyway, as the car has a standard factory fitted alarm which works perfectly, even has proximity sensors, so if the window is left open and someone reaches inside the car, it sets the alarm off.
Mine also doesn’t have height adjustment, but again that’s not too much of an issue for me, I’m 5’11, just shy of 6feet tall and I can easily get in and out.

@@jonnygti ive never had a car that didn't have steering lock so really suprised me.
I hope it doesn't void insurance lol.
I've just always had cars with what i thought was standard trim level so with toyota being a cheap but big brand i expected a decent trim level. I guess it was an added extra lol.

@@seanhomar5945 how do you know your cars steering lock isn’t just broken? I’ve just had a Google “Toyota Avensis no steering lock” and it doesn’t come up with any information about them not having one, just some results about people having issues with it not working etc. Surely if some models didn’t have it, it would be in the search results? It says about keyless entry cars not having it, but ours aren’t keyless entry.
Also does yours have an alarm? As above mine does, do you really think they would fit an alarm and proximity interior sensors, and NOT fit a simple steering lock? Doesn’t make sense! Maybe I’ll phone Toyota and ask ha ha

What did you expect from a family hatch? I’ve bought mine for that exact purpose, a family hatch, and it’s brilliant for driving to work and back and doing family things on the weekend. Also the boot is absolutely massive for going away on holidays too. Took me,my wife, my 3 year old daughter, and my wife’s friend to Wales last year, got 3 suit cases, bags etc easily in the boot, and shit they bought whilst on holiday went in there on the way back too. All in comfort with plenty of leg room for everyone. Oh and it’s cheap and utterly reliable.
