Firecracker getting ass kicked by starlight was satisfying to see probably the best PR singer would ever need. A super going off the rail? Prefect excuse to introduce a bill regulating them.
The funny thing about the anti supe bill is that in this universe it's completely justified since we know how dangerous compound V is, how unpredictable supes are with their powers and even personalities as well as vought being a monopoly on super humans. probably something to do with books, fast reading and super comprehension, then again that wouldn't be that funny, maybe he'll be the new smartest person in the world and help them defeat sage..or maybe he'll be cool like toby in spiderman 3
If that's how Butcher's powers are going to work it's kinda ironic, because when he finally clashes with Homlander, he won't even remember that epic final fight
Hughie’s mom took the compound V out of his jacket pocket. They show her looking in his jacket, plus there’s literally no other way she could have gotten it seeing as all of it was in homelander’s room.
I noticed a small plot hole with the episode, it’s small and shouldn’t stop the show short but when starlight flys, she “drains the whole power grid.” The cameras lost power, the majority of the crew ran off, and came back on, they probably shouldn’t have been able to record the fight. There probably shouldn’t have been a connection to VNN without the crew (there was one camera man, but he was focused on filming not reestablishing a connection to vnn.) people also recorded the fight on their phones so that’s why it’s not a problem but it probably shouldn’t have been on vnn
I am slow AF, I JUST realized that Neuman being able to tank a bullet was something that SHOULD have been expected, the end of Gen V has Marie(Who has the same powers as Nueman) tanking a blast from Homelander and the group mentions that they thought she was dead for sure to wake up without any scars.
I really doubt Homelander was trying to kill her. After all if he was then when she was unconscious he would've just walked over and stomped out her brains.
@@josiahgonzalez942 Remember she used her healing powers to protect Jordan? She also can manipulate blood. Let's just see how it all plays out. We can come back to this comment later LOL
Homelander was conditioned to having the need to be approved. Children today are being conditioned to having that same need of approval and love on social media, leading to mental health issues as we clearly see in the rising statistics. The show also keeps mentioning social media and to me, this may be one of the key parallel messages.
Will they did something similar to that in one of the episode from diabolical where the parasite become sentient and protects it's host in order for it to stay alive
Some clarification: Hughie took off his jacket that had the Compound-V in the pocket. When he left to get coffee, that is likely the same serum she used on his dad. Apparently, she saw him pocket the serum before he walked out leaving his jacket behind.
I really don’t care about any of the Boys’ past issues and those arcs; this season, for me, is all about Homelander and Butcher. Sage has also been a solid addition.
This has to have been top 5 episodes! Between sages scenes, Homelander scenes and Hughie and A-train redemption hand shake! This episode was amazing! But Flowers to Anthony Star! His facial expressions in this episode... His demeanor. This man is killing it in this season
Hughie put his jacket on the chair with the v in it but when he came back from getting coffee his jacket was on the bed and the v went into his dad blood stream so his mom went through his jacket
Yeah she also might’ve seen him put it into his pocket. She might’ve been in the doorway for a few seconds before she said anything and she could’ve seen it then.
I feel like that's EXACTLY what happened lol, I mean it moves on it's own now so it's likely sentient, and Butcher took the real V but didn't end up with any powers, instead it went for the tumor
It's more like the parasite inside him is the one who has the power not butcher himself and it needs to protect its host or else it will die alongside its host
This episode did so much to explain to us why Homelander is how he is. I was chatting with a buddy last night about this exactly and we both agreed that Anthony Starr deserves an award. Whether for this episode or for this role as Homelander through four seasons. He has been absolutely fantastic!!
In Season One, both Mave and Merideth call Homelander, “John”. In the Memo on the Wall in B6 that Barbera wrote, she mentions the NDA’s also included social media, but Social media wasn’t a thing until the early ‘00s. In the Hospital, Hughie’s mom is holding Prayer beads from an eastern religion. I’ve been wondering if she is a doppelgänger Supe sent by Vought to carry out some plan for them. Cameron Cole suggested leaving a floater in Homelander’s toilet, not The Deep. Fire Cracker taking medication will be how they attempt to neutralize her in the future, just like they tried to swap out Victoria’s eye drops in episode 1.
I love how they show blind spots or how perspective changes how things are viewed. Homelander even says it talking about the rooms. Yet he can’t see that he isn’t even willing to do what he asks of “powerless” people. You want the scientists to stop what is wrong, yet you as the most powerful being still put your own kind in the same situation.
wondering if Butcher’s parasite is gonna end up being a Venom-type situation. when the whole thing went down w Ezekiel I immediately thought it took over to save its host. much like a symbiote would.
I kind of think that the Bad Room was probably Homelanders kill room, meaning he killed so many people in that room growing up, that it was just caked with blood, body parts, and God knows what else for God knows how long. And that's why he is always so damn happy whenever he's simply covered in blood.
I didn't notice Barbara was locked in the bad room at the end of the episode. That whole basement segment was brutal, I'm glad Anthony Starr convince Kripke to adapt the script to reflect a more nuanced approach to Homelander's traumatic childhood.
The messed up sentences on the papers aren't supposed to mean anything, they're not referencing anything, and they're not an Easter-egg; they're auto-generated wordfill to put text on paper for props.
Butcher is becoming a cross of Venom and Tyler Durden, hence the Flight Club Easter egg scene. Voices in his head like venom, and blacking out and getting things done.
Ohhh yeah. They've made a point about how violent it can be when someone's powers show up. It's not gonna be a, "Oh cool I have powers now!" moment, it's probably gonna be a blood bath lol.
Someone's probably pointed this out already but it looks like as Hueys mum was walking into the room she noticed Huey suspiciously put the vile into his coat pocket. Huey took off his coat and left it on a chair and then left the room with just his hoodie on to get the drinks so I'm guessing his mum checked his coat pocket while he was away and found the vile of compound V and did what he hesitated to do in that time.
This episode was all right, but I feel Season 3 really spoiled me with Soldier Boy, and Season 4 just feels lacking to me. Introducing a character like that, played by Jensen Ackles, and then taking him away just feels weird. With Season 5 being the last season, I hope we'll see Soldier Boy again. I feel he should get his own spinoff show; Jensen was arguably the best part of Supernatural, so he could carry his own show.
I'm more concerned about Hughie's father mental state than his power, the sage grove episode proved how dangerous compound V on adult could be. We also have two examples of adults taking V in this episode; Butcher as a wolf (dangerous and crazy) and Hughie's dad as a sheep (simple civilian, mostly correct dad), the differences between them will definitely be interesting. When Butcher said that taking V made it worse, it's because the parasite started gnawing at him making him sicker, they'll either reach balance, Butcher might get rid of him after discovering it or we could have a big allien reference on our hands.
17:10 i thought sage was just happy that the racist firecracker got her ass beat "you're one of the good ones" ICANT (actually surprised how smart firecracker was to spin that so fast)
Man this dude is about to get movie deals out the ass from this scene ! Well done sir ! Def puts him up there with Leo Decraprio , Micheal B Jordan, Hugh Jackman level of acting. Once he gets more movies I think he’ll prove himself more. This scene , the range he displayed was incredible. Reminds me of that movie “split”
Hughie took off his jacket where the Compound V was before he went to get coffee, his mom stole it from there, when Hughie got back, she had already put it in Dads iv, then dad woke up
The whale is called Fudgie the Whale and it was an old ice cream cake originally created as a tribute for Father’s Day “…for a whale of a dad”. I think that may be the symbolism here and not the dead whale.
I thought taking compound V would give Butcher his powers that he had from the temp V (laser eyes, super-strength) but just make them permanent. So does this mean compound V is just random after each use and is not determined by the personality traits of the individual?
I mean his new powers are still seemingly determined by his personality traits but in a different way. Also Butcher’s case might be weird/different since he took temp V, got a brain tumor from it, and then took full V. He said it was 4 months ago when he tried full V which would be about 2 months after his diagnosis of 12 months left to live. Also he used the rest of a tube and not a full dose.
If I recall correctly, kimiko got her same powers back when she took compound v, so I think the v effected the cancer and not so much butcher himself, which would explain the lack of strength and laser eyes, and the “worm.”
As a physician, we do not use metoclopromide typically for reflux or at least no one I’ve worked with does. It is a pro gut motility agent. We use it in people who have diabetic Gastroparesis, or who have trouble moving their gut for some other reason. Typically neurologic or endocrine in nature.
I do actually empathize with Homelander this episode. Like, he's killed a lot of people that didn't deserve it, those scientists did. Following orders isn't an excuse. And I like that Homelander took note of the fact that the scientist only said he was sorry once his life was in danger. Too many people are only sorry when they are caught, and ask forgiveness so they don't have to feel guilty (or in this case so they aren't killed), that isn't being sorry that's being selfish. Makes me wonder if he would have let any of them live if they were genuinely sorry.
The scene with Homelander bringing the cake and smiling the way he did was THE most unsettling scene for me in the whole show. My skin was crawling the entire time, and then when the scene cuts without anyone coming to harm, I was even more scared. I don't know how Antony does it.
Hughie’s mom saw him put something in his pocket, he rested his jacket on the chair when he left the room. Yet when he comes back into the room the jacket is on the hospital bed. She took it and did it.
Everybody these days makes breakdown videos about popular shows like the boys and HOTD, but i always look forward to seeing Charlie upload. Never miss a vid 🔥🔥🔥
Anthony Starr is such a terrific actor, the entire time he was at that Lab, I was afraid that he might Laser someone at any moment. The fear was real. He has to get an Emmy for his role as the Homelander.
For Firecracker to be taking acid reflux meds maybe it’s related to body dymorphia trauma that plagues some ex pageant participants? People with eating disorders can have stomach issues. idk if there is any thing related to that in the comics
I just love how the one accusing everyone of being pedos is the actual pedo, but gets "forgiven" because xtian or whatever. That's about as accurate to true life as you can get.
I actually thought the reveal they were going for between firecracker and Sage. Was that starlight killed that guy in season two whose car they stole trying to save Huey. Did everyone forget about that because it’s not coming back up when it should.
Metoclopramide is for delayed gastric emptying, has no effect on pH but increases lower esophageal sphincter tone and through motilin receptor activation improves gastric emptying. But it blocks dopamine and many patients can have very weird feelings on the medicine

If that's how Butcher's powers are going to work it's kinda ironic, because when he finally clashes with Homlander, he won't even remember that epic final fight

Somebody Anthony Starr an Emmy

It's Antony 😂
@@chrikke Antony Starr :)
No one gives a fuckhtony starr
I noticed a small plot hole with the episode, it’s small and shouldn’t stop the show short but when starlight flys, she “drains the whole power grid.”
The cameras lost power, the majority of the crew ran off, and came back on, they probably shouldn’t have been able to record the fight.
I think Marie is going to heal Butcher and that's when they'll try to prolong ending the series.
@@hogscattle7877literally no way she could "heal " anyone 😂 what kind of "theory" is that ?

Homelander was conditioned to having the need to be approved. Children today are being conditioned to having that same need of approval and love on social media, leading to mental health issues as we clearly see in the rising statistics. The show also keeps mentioning social media and to me, this may be one of the key parallel messages.
100% facts, kids are different now, than when I grew.
🎯🎯
I think it's a lack of parents being actual parents rather than just being social media in of itself.
Didn't expect butcher to have a symbiote.
Will they did something similar to that in one of the episode from diabolical where the parasite become sentient and protects it's host in order for it to stay alive
@@mohabalserafe3795 Fun fact: that episode was written by Andy Samberg
Or his mom doesn’t actually exist and he sees her because of the temp V

Homelander going to be back to childhood home and tormenting the people who experimented on him pure sinister hope this episode wins an Emmy
Butcher having power again is awesome hopefully he survived its
It's more like the parasite inside him is the one who has the power not butcher himself and it needs to protect its host or else it will die alongside its host
Im expecting butcher to be dead this turn and he would have a huge sacrifice scene on the end of this season
@@foxinabox5103 I doubt they'll end up killing him off until S5. But by the end of that I'm guessing we can expect a big sacrifice.
I busted out laughing when he said, "They're all going to laugh at you.". This is a reference to the Stephen King book, "Carrie". LOL
I do think after saving his life it deserves to be called a symbiote rather than a parasite now
A parasite will save the life of its owner if it means saving its own life. If butcher dies, it dies... Meaning its by definition a parasite.
The reason she takes the medication is Bulimia
I love how they show blind spots or how perspective changes how things are viewed. Homelander even says it talking about the rooms. Yet he can’t see that he isn’t even willing to do what he asks of “powerless” people. You want the scientists to stop what is wrong, yet you as the most powerful being still put your own kind in the same situation.
Homelander was MVP in this episode
He doesn't care about anything anymore 😂
Butcher is!
Nobody talks about how Homelander lasered Stormfront and didn’t hurt her but Ryan lasered all her limbs off
Yeah it's been mentioned several times that Ryan has the potential to be WAY more powerful than Homelander
Ryan is the key to killing Homelander
That's what I was thinking during that scene, but it's been 3 years so I've accepted it.
@@brookswilliams5239 meh, homelander has old man strength, especially once he gets on TRT
I think it's implied that they can control the strength of the laser eyes. Ryan didn't know what he was doing and just went full blast.

If you watched diabolical then yeah there was an episode that did the exact same thing but with an old woman dying from cancer or something like that
Fudgie the whale is the quintessential Father's Day ice cream cake. At least in the 80s-90s
Homelander's mom was a runaway. That implies she was a teenager which makes his birth even sadder.
21:54 Notice his fingers are clean, so what happened isn't as easy as just "ripped him apart" like we've seen Kimiko do a few times.
Damn I didn’t know Andre from Gen V recently passed away crazy man 💔
It was all over Facebook. Sad

I kind of think that the Bad Room was probably Homelanders kill room, meaning he killed so many people in that room growing up, that it was just caked with blood, body parts, and God knows what else for God knows how long. And that's why he is always so damn happy whenever he's simply covered in blood.
I think it was more psychological. The bad room damaged his psyche. Now it's Barbara's turn to go crazy in there
The scenes after Hughie’s dad is given V are hands down the most disturbing sequences in the whole show for me. I was genuinely jaw-dropped
peak homelander episode
yep!
Homelander’s birth must have been absolutely terrifying. I hope we get a scene/flashback with it
“We are VENOM” - The Butcher
I didn't notice Barbara was locked in the bad room at the end of the episode. That whole basement segment was brutal, I'm glad Anthony Starr convince Kripke to adapt the script to reflect a more nuanced approach to Homelander's traumatic childhood.
The messed up sentences on the papers aren't supposed to mean anything, they're not referencing anything, and they're not an Easter-egg; they're auto-generated wordfill to put text on paper for props.
Butcher is becoming a cross of Venom and Tyler Durden, hence the Flight Club Easter egg scene. Voices in his head like venom, and blacking out and getting things done.
saw a shot of a dude walking bloody in a hospital gown in one of the trailers, i’m guessing hughie sr is gonna get powers and it’s not gonna go well
I feel he should get his own spinoff show; Jensen was arguably the best part of Supernatural, so he could carry his own show.
he is in season 4. You're gonna see him in 1 of the later episodes.
Soldier Boy and Cindy will return and also Sam and Cate will be in this season
I'm more concerned about Hughie's father mental state than his power, the sage grove episode proved how dangerous compound V on adult could be.
We also have two examples of adults taking V in this episode; Butcher as a wolf (dangerous and crazy) and Hughie's dad as a sheep (simple civilian, mostly correct dad), the differences between them will definitely be interesting.
When Butcher said that taking V made it worse, it's because the parasite started gnawing at him making him sicker, they'll either reach balance, Butcher might get rid of him after discovering it or we could have a big allien reference on our hands.
Homelander is the one of the most maniacly coldest, cruelest villains ever created. It's pretty terrifying
When homelander says to frank it's funny how people can have a different memory about the same thing -- touched my soul 😢
17:10 i thought sage was just happy that the racist firecracker got her ass beat "you're one of the good ones" ICANT (actually surprised how smart firecracker was to spin that so fast)
Sage lowkey can't stand Firecracker. 😂
Hughie took off his jacket where the Compound V was before he went to get coffee, his mom stole it from there, when Hughie got back, she had already put it in Dads iv, then dad woke up
I think that Butcher was saved by Ryan. That's why Becca didn't say anything because "she" didn't know or "felt" "looked" disappointed.
Homelander Literally Laughed Like The Joker!🃏
The whale is called Fudgie the Whale and it was an old ice cream cake originally created as a tribute for Father’s Day “…for a whale of a dad”. I think that may be the symbolism here and not the dead whale.
Been waiting on this notification all morning 🤙🏾 Great episode right here loved the backstory for Homelander and the tie ins to Diabolical and Gen V

Plot Twist: Frenchie keeps his socks on at night ☺
Freaky
I thought taking compound V would give Butcher his powers that he had from the temp V (laser eyes, super-strength) but just make them permanent. So does this mean compound V is just random after each use and is not determined by the personality traits of the individual?
Correct
I mean his new powers are still seemingly determined by his personality traits but in a different way. Also Butcher’s case might be weird/different since he took temp V, got a brain tumor from it, and then took full V. He said it was 4 months ago when he tried full V which would be about 2 months after his diagnosis of 12 months left to live. Also he used the rest of a tube and not a full dose.
If I recall correctly, kimiko got her same powers back when she took compound v, so I think the v effected the cancer and not so much butcher himself, which would explain the lack of strength and laser eyes, and the “worm.”
I think it varies but then again the parasite could’ve just absorbed all the compound v instead of butcher
Butcher doesn't have the same powers because the parasites inside him absorbed it all and it became a sentient being
Hughey left his coat on the chair in his dad’s room and when he comes back it’s hanging on the foot of the bed. His mom pilfered his pockets

TH-cam has been acting strangely lately. Same thing happened with me on this video too and a few other channels.
