I'm 60 and drive a softail. (Owned just about every manufacturer and style of bike) just bought a v rod. Lol, I'm running it like i stole it! To much fun! Absolutely fun!
I have the ‘03 100 anniversary bike and love it. Sooooo much fun to ride and I tell you, I’m a beginner and have been growing into the bike. Plenty of power haven’t even begun to take it where you have but nice knowing it’s there if/when I am ready.
Been riding the Vrod for nearly twenty years. My first was an 04 B and I’ve had 5 more since then. I recently got my favorite one, a 2008 VRSCD Nightrod not to be confused with the Nightrod Special. I live in third gear too. I currently have two Vrods in the garage, the 08D and a 13F. I’ve definitely watched the Birth of the Vrod a couple times… or 20 plus. There’s an inexpensive aftermarket part that really makes her scream and that’s the 26 Tooth front pulley. I’ve put one on my last three Vrods. You should look into it. Keep the shiny side up. 🍻
Great review. Love my 07. I have had it from new with a slipper clutch upgrade. Due to work I don’t ride it much, but every time I consider selling it I dismiss the thought immediately.😂😂
DOB 16 SEP 58 HAVE BEEN RIDING SINCE 8 TACO 22 MINI NOW 08 VRSCDX 12 1600 2 TONE ABS THUNDER BIRD AN A 05 XB12SCG IF GOT A GOOD 10YRS LF OVER THE TOP FAST THE BUELL!! BUTT THE DX IS RT THERE!!! GREAT VIDEO KEEP IT UP!!!! THX
Great that you love Vrod and incourage others to get one too. I own two of them. 2002 100th Anniversary Vrod and the 2015 Vrod Muscle. Do you still own one and love riding it.?
I have a 04 and it’s so much fun ! Not my first harley but anyone that is thinking about getting one better do it soon . Most parts are obsolete but dealers have access to more than you can find online as far as new . I found brake rotors for mine via the service department. My bike really didn’t need them since it only had like 4K miles . I just wanted to get it mechanically perfect because I’m never getting rid of it .
I’m 30, just getting into this. I love the style and sound of the V rod but the dealer kept pushing the new sportster S on me. I’m a bigger lad, 6ft, 220lbs. Think I’d be okay?
It's good that you love your bike, any biker loves their bikes so it doesn't matter what anyone else says like wise any driver/race loves their cars,so it won't matter to them what anyone else says, they can literally feel when they drive or ride
I am not sure if I would tell people if you are starting out and want a Harley to buy the V-Rod. It is way to much bike for a beginner. Also with the raked front end its a little harder to make tight turns until you learn how to lean more. New riders do not like to lean as much it does not feel natural. Starting out on 125hp motorcycle I would not do it. Also the forward controls are not easy to get used to especially if you are a new rider. I would buy an older 1200 sportster cheap and ride that for a year before moving up to a V-Rod
Dang, you made some good points but lost me when you said the V-Rod is "light" and a good beginner bike. It's a lot of things (many of them great), but light and beginner-friendly are not it.
I've had 3 N.R.S' and an '04 , i love em.... anyone that has only negative stuff to say about em, either has never owned one or is a complete fool. As for catching the wind, try some later model rims instead of the solids.
That neighborhood is so gross. Why does anyone want to live like that? A place where someone tells you how to place your garbage cans. It’s weird but people love HOA’s for some reason

Went from an 82 FLT to a Vrod. I'm building custom bags that contour the air box lines. I love it.
I have an '04 for three years now and i'm not planning to let her go anytime soon, I just love the sound and looks of it 🥰
Getting mine in a few days. 2006 5000 miles. My first harley. Those pipes sound great

Never had interest in those big v-twin cruisers that harley made, but this one’s different and i would live to drive one one day

You'll absolutely be okay, and dare I say more comfortable on a V-Rod - espeically with forward foot controls.

At 2:56, it looks like you passed a vrod for sale on the end of someone's driveway (maybe I'm seeing things?) I appreciate your perspective though!

Engine is very much Ok but the the whole could be much better ,2002 have one as the v first ,Ziggy
I was 17 when they came out 😂 I’m 37 and remember them very clearly. Everyone including the crock cricket ladies didn’t like them
The solid rims are not fun at all. Stay off of high windy bridges. Almost wrecked my 98 fat boy
'Superbike engine'? 150 hp is the starting point for all sport tourers. Until you are over this, you're not approaching superbike.
