Man yeah...that game is something. If nothing else it's good memories from when we were kids haha
That's about all it is haha
As kids we were able to fill imperfect things with our own joy and imagination, and as adults we expect everything to be perfect in order to make up for our lack of joy and imagination. When I play games from my childhood I try to play them from the perspective of my kid self and not my adult self. Rather with wide eyed wonder, and not old man grumpyness lol. Also, nothing will ever repace good ol couch co op, never ever ever ever🙃
Totally agree man! I try to do the same thing. If you don't look at it with your "kid eyes" most things won't hold up well compared to stuff of today. And you're right the old sleep over couch co op night was always a great time!
Finally!! I tried playing Saturday night and unfortunately this wasn’t on my bobbycera. Definitely a must have game just for the artwork and intro music:)
It's not on there?? Well you're not missing much still haha. I really want to like this game because I have a lot of memories playing it. But you're right the artwork alone is worth the 10 bucks for this game.

Oh, X-Men... I have an... Odd relationship with this game. I remember renting it back in 1990 and hating it; then, holidays 1994, I had injured my spine doing something stupid, and had to spend all of the Winter break from school laid out on the couch. While I was like this, my parents found a copy of this game new for... I think it was $10? Anyway, cue me lying on the couch recuperating and playing this for two weeks.
It is a terrible game, but it has so much potential. I actually want to make a Weekend Rental video on it, but haven't built up the courage to try to play all the way through it yet.
Also, if the X-Men arcade game is the baseline for good X-Men games, you need to play the X-Men Legends games - they are the pinnacle of the license! Well, them and X-Men Mutant Apocalypse for the SNES.

Hey good to see you man!! I think I've played the X-Men legends and you're right they are very good. Mutant apocalypse is as well. I just have a lot of good memories with that big massive 6 player arcade game so maybe my opinion is a little biased haha. Oh man I imagine recovering from a spine injury and being forced to play this game made matters worse!! You're right though there was so much potential with this one. It could have been a classic. Or at the very least better that this!!
@@The_Bad_Guy. I can see how nostalgia would have that effect. Don't get me wrong; I have the XBLA release of the arcade game, and it's still great, but I do think it got overshadowed.
Yeah... my time that year was split between X-Men and a 6-hour VHS tape of old cartoons from the '30s to the '50s. It was a... weird holiday.
It is interesting how they at least tried to include their individual powers, like Nightcrawler's teleportation and Storm being able to fly. It just was not good. At all.
@@MakopoweredGaming I will give them credit for that haha. I believe wolverine slowly healed as well. But usually you weren't alive long enough to realize that haha.
Kid traded me this cart for my school lunch , i took the game home and realized i waa ripped off 😂
Vader!! Yes, yes you were haha. Even if you traded him a pack of crackers you were still ripped off haha. It's a shame because they could have done so much better with this one.

The funny this that I DON'T like it haha. I just have that fondness for it since I played it so much as a kid. And you're right we definitely will play it again haha.
The world record speedrun is just under 6 minutes. Ill learn it if we put this game to bed forever. Lol
Yeah, graphics and level design are just kind of meh, on this one.
They could have done better. Especially in 1989 this was peak NES time!
