Just finished installing the lseat leather covers on my front row. Could not have done it without this video. Everything went perfect except the j-hook along the front edge of the lower cushion. The seam came loose on both covers during installation. That part of the install is brutal. Once the plastic housing is reinstalled, it looks perfect though. Can’t tell the seam is loose at all. Thanks for the video.
Hi All, I just did my 2009 GX 470. Ray's video helped a great deal. The one difference was the headrest. My original headrests (or they may have been done by the previous owner) had the foam filled inside the leather as one unit. There was no separate leather layer. The leather seams were part of the foam. So I had to rip and cut the leather off the foam. Actually, the leather may not have been real leather, it ripped easily and was a little stretchable. Once I removed the outer leather/leatherette, I decided to use a garbage bag and shop vac to shrink the size of the foam. That helped tremendously as I don't think I could have forced the lseat headrests over that large foam piece. I tore off parts of the garbage bag that stuck out and the rest is still inside the headrest. I will say that the lseat covers are not exact replicas of the OEM seat covers. Especially the pieces and parts going between the seat and back. I'm hoping the Arizona sun will get rid of the wrinkles and what seems like some excess material. The seat was the hardest part to replace. The lseat seat covers have that single long J-hook material around the front and the front part of both sides. I had to remove some pieces of the J-hook with a dremel, otherwise I couldn't get the entire single J-hook on the metal frame of the seat. In fact, the previous owner probably had the driver's seat done and it looked like a professional job. The front part of the seat cover had 5 or 6 screws going through the leather and J-hook to the metal frame. That was their solution to securing the front part of the seat. Makes total sense.
Great video. Followed your instructions for the most part, except I used very small zip ties instead of hog rings. Didn't even use the rods. I installed an amazon faux leather bottom cover (see link below). Zip tied a small loop to the rods in the padding and then another thru the inserts on the replacement and the white cotton looking material that is the seat warmer. Tied both together and pulled tight as well as cut the tail end of the zip tie. So far so good. Warmers work and the seat is fine (though a slight different color). Did driver side only. Thanks again though. Couldn't have done this myself without your video.
Hey just curious if you can confirm this is real (full or top grain) leather, or if it is some kind of composite (like genuine). Also, I'd also love a follow up video to see how the leather has settled in. Seems like the headrest could be an issue. Thanks for this video!!! I have the grey color and really hope it matches as well. Finally at min 41 you mention a clamp trick but I wasn't able to find what that is in the vid. If you could lmk, I'd be appreciated!
In the beginning of the video when he said it’s very easy, 42 min later 😮 I could only imagine what it will be like if he had said it was going to be a little hard 😭. I still can’t take on them but damn I don’t think it will take me that long
Great video! Thinking about getting these for my truck. The material looks kind of loose and wrinkled. Has it tightened up over time? How does it look now?
Hi what did you do to your center wood trim on the dash that is silver in your GX versus the wood that would have been there, mine my wood is breaking apart, thanks and did the leather covers finally smooth out the wrinkles?
a trick is pantie hose, you slip the pantie hose over the foam and its acts to slip the leather over and air compressor and vacuum

LFG! So glad the install video helped. Yea I agree that part was brutal but you got em on! Much respect! It's not the easiest install.

Great informative video. I only needed to replace my bottom cushion so eventually got sidetracked/confused by the back and forth..
Glad you were able to get some insight! Bottom is much easier than the upright aha

ahaha It's not too hard just tedious as heck.
Hey man loving your GX content! Thanks for sharing everything with us. Subscribed
Thanks brotha! Appreciate the support!
I didn't cut my hog rings. I just twisted them, it was way easier to twist.
Thanks for the detailed instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
Where is it possible to buy the new seat covers?
Any chance for a quick follow up video showing how they turn out long term? Did you have to steam them or did they smooth out on their own?
Its still holding up pretty well. No issues with em!
I check their website. For some reason i can't pick other colors except tan
If looking at the website on your phone, goto browser settings and check "desktop" display. Should work then
Hi! Do you know if your tutorial would work 1999 LX470 seats? I can’t find any L-Seat tutorials online; but your seats look quite similar to mine
Install process should be about the same. Unclip and cut hog rings. Just don’t yank out the hog rings because you will pierce thru the cushion
Hey what floor mats do you have? I can't believe Husky Liners doesnt make a custom set for this car I love their mats.
Very nice, would love to see a follow up short on how the wrinkles came out
The wrinkles came out after a couple days! I'll include them in my next upcoming videos!
Great video! Thinking about getting these for my truck. The material looks kind of loose and wrinkled. Has it tightened up over time? How does it look now?
yea the wrinkles smoothed itself out after leaving it parked outside in the sun!
Video or it didnt happen@@OverlandRay
What tool did you use to fasten the heated seat element? Thanks
I used the Tag Gun that they use to put tags on T-Shirts. Links are in the description. Don't forget to get the tags (Also in the description)

I toss my old trim pieces in the trash. Yea most of the major wrinkles smooth itself out. It looks way better now.
Ray, what Nav/display system are you using? Thanks!
Using Joying's Navi! Works great! Have a video installing it! th-cam.com/video/TZtMOePIRUU/w-d-xo.html

Ok, I've got ask.....start to finish, per seat, how much time did this DIY take?
I would say 4-5 hours each seat aha. 2nd one is always faster but not by much cause its a bit tedious aha.
great guide. thank you for sharing.
No problem! Hopefully I made it easy enough to follow aha.

Great Video, Which rock sliders do you have installed... ?

Yea i still have it
@@OverlandRay how’s your experience with it? would you recommend?
Excellent video. Thank you!

Thanks G!
I was always told not to disconnect an airbag wire, since it could cost the customer a lot of money ($600) if it has to be reset professional.
Disconnect battery
Disconnect batter and then no big deal
