    Thanks for the info about the wrists and the pec fly. Not seeing any videos of people doing flys with these but just on normal press it does look like there is some rubbing on the arms.

    After over a year of entering their lottery I finally won for the dumbbells and the 120 add on kit. Picked up both as well as the heavy handle kit. Getting all of my stuff tomorrow 💪 thank you for the review on this

    Since the heavy handle plate sticks out a bit more than the regular 5lb plates , how has the hex screws hold up? I’d assume whenever you put the weights down, all the weight will be on the heavy handle kit and therefore the stress will be on the screws.

      Great question and glad to give an update! Surprisingly, it hasn’t loosened at all. I thought it would have to be tightened regularly, but it’s as tight as it was at the start!

    I find that the larger diameter HHK makes changing plates harder.

    • @axelgutierrez4075
      @axelgutierrez4075  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m sorry for the late response but I agree to a degree. The plates used to sit perfectly in height with the pin. With the HHK, I have to wiggle the pin I’m because it’s not flush anymore.

    How have you been liking the ironmasters? I have a pair myself and powerblocks. Have you gotten use to change the weights and the time for such. I’m still getting use to it. But no doubt at heavier weight ironmasters feel so solid compared to a 80lb powerblock

      There are definitely pros and cons to both ironmasters and powerblocks! I too have both sets and use them for different workouts. I haven’t gotten quick at changing the ironmasters, even after over 10+ yrs of owning them! I like to use the powerblocks for my workouts where I have best control: chest presses, overhead presses, curls, etc. I have my ironmasters preset for when I might fail or come close to it. For example, I’ll use the powerblocks for chest presses up to 80. Then I’ll switch to my ironmasters for 90. I also find ironmasters the only way to do tricep overhead extensions. How do you work both dumbbells into your workouts so far? I love hearing and adopting everyone’s tips and tricks!

      @@axelgutierrez4075 I think Pepin Fast maybe the closest thing we may find to the “ideal” adjustable dumbbell. But I currently use the Powerblock Personal Trainer Set for all movement’s under 50lbs as it maxes at 50 but i like that it goes in increments of 5lbs. I have the ironmasters preset at 60lbs so say for chest press if I’m going to go up to 60lbs I use the ironmasters but then mentally I’m already like damn I gotta switch the plates for 70s, 80s, etc. lol. then to go back down i’m like damn I switch down lol. It’s weird how that extra work is like a mental block in a way from me sometimes changing the weight. I was highly debating of buying a set of 90lb powerblocks elite usas just to say heck with it I want something fast you know. But then I realize why I kept the ironmasters. I do like the feel of it at higher weights and its easier to put on the stand at higher weights too. If the usa elites come available I may just pick them up and purchase extra handles so I can switch to 5lbs really quickly. I rarely go above 90lb anymore maybe for shrugs. But I guess that’s when I can load the ironmasters for so I’ll never part from those. But I’m thinking of selling my trainers and getting a usa elites with extra handles. I’ll primarily use the powerblocks for everything I’m thinking…..thoughts? The struggles we homegymers go through lol.

      @@marucat2797 haha, I think many of us can relate with your predicament! Yes, just thinking about having to change the iromaster weight can be hard to overcome! It’s too bad that the ironmasters and powerblocks were such big investments that getting the peppins too would be hard to justify. If you’re thinking of upgrading your powerblocks, and you have the money, then it’s an amazing investment in your health! Especially if it’ll help you save time changing the weights and you can do all the movements you do! Woot has sales on the USA set and the add-on sets from time to time. Check out Slickdeals and search for powerblocks and you can see previous sales. Good luck my friend!!!

      one thing i believe is underlooked when i think about the Ironmasters is that when you set the weight say 80lbs…..you don’t have to put them back in a nested stack. Trying to put that heavy weight perfectly in a nested stack like powerblocks, nuobells, pepin fast, would be hard i believe. At that weight I like the fact i can just place them on the stand. Like you said, I think i’ll use my elites for certain movements like maybe shrugs and medium weight pressing movements but for my heavy sets i feel most comfortable with ironmasters. Anything light I’ll use the the light powerblocks in 5lb increments. The hard life of home gymers lol hehe. Keep up the great content btw!

      @@marucat2797no one else has brought this up. That’s a huge deal, unless you train with 2+ reps in reserve (I always go 0 reps in reserve) I can’t imagine trying to put a heavy set back into a cradle perfectly. As I hit failure, I use the momentum of my iron master landing on my knees to launch my up and forward out of my bench and then slam the dumbbells onto their stand 😂. I bought a set of bow flex 552 on FB marketplace for $50 to leave at work to hit arms/shoulders during lunch or breaks, and just one time trying to re rack into the cradle 🤮🤢
      I’m really tempted to sell the iron masters and go with rep x peppins but I also drop my dumbbells and the cradle part bugs me as well

    Hi, do the screws hold the 7.5lbs plates securely and strongly? Or the plates tend to move a bit on the handle?
    Since I would use the Heavy Handle Plate Kit only for certain exercises, can the quality be affected if I put on and off the Plates 4-5 times a week?

    • @axelgutierrez4075
      @axelgutierrez4075  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The plates are very secure and haven’t needed to be tightened at all. I’m not sure how they would handle being taken off and put back on multiple times a week. It sounds like more trouble than they’re worth to me!

      That's not really what they were designed for though. It's for those that just want a higher starting weight at all times. They're meant to be put on and left that way - not constantly on and off. What exercises are you referring to and at what weight specifically? If you're using them as intended, you shouldn't want to ever remove them.
