I hosted a show with Kenny Price and Mickey Gilley back in 1976 in Macon, Georgia and Kenny was a pleasure to be around. He was a big guy with a big voice and an even bigger personality. It wasn't about him being a great singer or a great musician. Kenny Price was a terrific all-around entertainer and he knew how to work a crowd. That's why they choose him to be on the hit show, Hee Haw with Buck Owens and Roy Clark. Kenny Price was really a fine entertainer and he was very kind to me.

It was Sheriff Joe "JW" Higgins who was stopping those racy Dodge Challengers. Check here on TH-cam for the commercials from 1970 and 1971 to watch the Sheriff in action. It'll bring back memories.

My Father was Bobby Bobby Bobo of the midwestern hayride, he sang and play ed guitar, and later he owned his own publishing company and recording studio in Nashville.
Are there any clips of him on the Midwestern Hayride? He left behind his wife Marilyn, and three daughters - Debbie, Connie and Kim. We sure would love to see him.

My grandpaw the one he is singing about used to warn the racing boys of my state police. Told the boys they better go home before they got in trouble.

I hail from Cincinnati and remember Kenny Price on Midwestern Hayride. He indeed used to freak me out too. He was the first really husky person I'd ever seen also. I watched Midwestern Hayride every Saturday night as a kid. I wanted those white clogging/square dance shoes soooo bad.

The sad part is that you're almost in jail with fines to pay the second you see the sign on I-75 that says, "Yo in BOONE County KY, son." Been there, done that. So did my father-in-law from Davenport, Virginia and anyone who ever drove through with out of state plates. Three hours of jail to approve my debit card (phones ya know) and $60 fine for "Suspicion" of doin' sumthin wrong cause I have Ohio plates. Deputy was a dumbass. Jailer was nice. He opened the door to a cell with two drunken cousins who've been beating each other up since the night before. The jailer said, "Nope. 'Better not put you in there" and put me in a separate cell until my card had been charged. I had to drive down there 300 miles round trip three times, because the judge down there kept getting the sniffles. Two of the prostitutes came outside of the court to tell me they thought I won. That $60 fine cost me $1000 in hotel bills and gas. Surprise surprise. My father-in-law and I independently came to the same conclusion: fill up outside KY, don't buy anything in that state. Flip a penny out on their interstate. F**k 'em. Leave nothing but piss and shit at their facilities. But it's officially the second most inbred state behind Maine, then comes Mississippi, Michigan football, West Virginia, and Alabama.

I don’t know if he ripped off Jerry Lewis or Jerry ripped off him. But this is very similar to east bound and down
