Great review Brad and thanks for the shoutout! It’s definitely not perfect but as a first tablet with stylus for the price I think the Mi Pad 5 definitely got a lot right. Let’s hope we see better pen and line quality in future iterations. Keep it up bro and cheers from Hong Kong! 😃
I've been waiting so long for an artist to review this! Thank you! And I guess i was right to hold off on this since this is essentially a gen 1 product when it comes to pen tech from Xiaomi, I'll probably wait for the Xiaomi Pad 6 and hope they improve things there
I think the reason most people asked for this is because of the price point. You'd get great specs (even better processor benchmark than the Tab S7) and it's an affordable flagship drawing experience.
Nah not really. It might be at par with the S7FE with specs but S7? That must be a joke haha. The S7 uses a SD865+. Even when compared to the FE, the S7FE has a better and more well rounded experience. The S7FE offers a more workhorse and productivity type of machine with the refined Samsung DEX, the screen is better, ONEUI is better, and the Spen is the best stylus out there hands down.
@@SeoWoojin55 the FE has a 60hz TFT screen, SD750G, has a lower base spec of 4gb 64gb, AND COSTS MORE, you might as well get the proper S7 at the FE's MSRP

Xiaomi goes mostly after Apple, not after Samsung, that's their target, so for the future reviews of Mi items it worth to compare them to iPads, even though the price is do different sometimes.
A comparison to Apple would be of little use if it isn't better than a Samsung. Anyone using an iPad that is considering an Android would want the best Android tablet available. They need to top the Android tablet first, before going after Apple.
They’ve nailed a formula of matching the S7/iPad Air in design at base iPad price. Performance wise it does stick fairly in line with its price tag though. Overall it seems a good experience for general tablet stuff like entertainment and light gaming, the decent but not exceptional art abilities are probably just a nice bonus for its intended users. Another great review, Brad!
This is one of my choices for a tab after I decided that the iPad isn't really for me. The price is okay but the pen isn't included. And speaking of the pen, I know it's not going to be as good as I want it to be as it's Xiaomi's first. So I opted for the cheapest version of the Tab s6 lite and so far, it has been great. Palm rejection with my S-Pen is superb. I use my tab mainly for note taking and sketching and no stray marks at all.
Great take on the pen Brad! I l agree that the line quality really depends on a per-app basis.. . I personally don't have as many drawing APPS as you have. But for me, it did perform quite well in infinite painter. BTW, I loved the illustration you did on it though, looks sweet!
If you're going to review a Surface, please please please review it with Renaisser's Raphael pen as well. It may not be the standard pen Microsoft offers but it is simply the best pen for Surface devices in terms of line quality.
I believe that, on Android, pairing any Bluetooth device (or, at least most of them) will request access to contacts. I think the thinking behind that is that 99 times out of 100, the Bluetooth device you're pairing is probably a headset. And if it's a headset with Assistant capabilities, it would need access to your contacts so you could make calls with your voice.

I am also an owner of iPad Air 4, and initially I was relieved just to justify the extra cost I spent on it and Pencil. However, we really shouldnt be. Hi brad! Hope you can also review the artisul 16 inch display drawing tab 😁
hi brad, great video! I have a question kindly help. How large can I go with my canvas on infinite painter with this tablet without any crashing or issues? Can I make A3 paper-size illustrations or (5000 x 5000px) with this tab using infinite painter?
I love Xiaomi products but I still didn't expect this one to be this good. Frankly, I don't really care for the animations, I even have it turned off in my windows laptop. Or maybe I just haven't experienced what a good ui with top tier animations are like lol.
Thanks foe the review! Didn't know I needed it 😅
02:15 how the hell 120fps is looking smoother than 60fps in a 60fps video on youtube???
you should try an indonesian Tablet, Advan Sketsa 2 ... only cost around USD 175,- is 4 gb ram and 64 gb .. already includes the pen
however what do you think worth to buy, xiaomi pad 5 or Ipad Mini 5
Because as youtuber i also need tablet that strong enough for video editing beside drawing as my hobby
thank you and greetings from Bali
Can we write freely on pdf files in pad 5 using pen like highlighting, adding extra points in pdf file.

I watch videos from this pad, a very good device! Ty for the review, hello from Berlin!
Please do a comparison with the Samsung Galaxy tab s7 fe
What sketching app are you using?
Hi Brad, thanks for the review.
I am on the edge after seeing the line on slower stroke. I plan to get this for Nomad sculpting, do you try the Nomad on this tab?
great Vid!
What do u guys think, can I use it with Blender? I mean if i share the screen with my pc and use the screen of the tablet? will it work well?
Genuine question? what about casual draws? like learning how to do digital art? can you recommend this?
Which is better, huawei m pencil or xioami stylus? Sorry I don't know much about this
Their pen is exclusive like ipad, or can we buy other brands pens??
need help .dont know which one should i buy. MI PAD 5 PRO OR SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S7 FE. i really love ipad bud tight budget.
thanks for the review brad!
Hi Brad! Which stylus/pen are you using? I'm not sure what to get...
Hi Which application do you draw with?
Would you be so kind to test Nomad Sculpt on it??!!
can you connect Xiaomi Pad 5 to a drawing tablet such as Kamvas 13?
Definitely passing on this. I mean it would be used for art...so it all comes down to the pen....ALWAYS!!! I mean if you are drawing...you should expect the pen to put down the line that you actually put down... every time....all of the time. The pen performance seems to be OK here....and "OK" is NOT acceptable for me.
All this being said, I also must say that I'm very optimistic about this device and other new ones coming out in the coming months. I will keep my eyes out for future iterations of this. It has VERY GOOD potential!
Does anybody know if the Mi Pad has a laminated display? Did some research myself, but couldn't find any useful information
Is it recommended for me? I usually just draw WW2 stuff and having straight lines is not really an issue since most of the time stuff is destroyed.
