‘Some Girls’ came out in a point of my life when I was immersed in a lot of dangerous activities. It seemed my whole neighborhood decided collectively to charge head on into heroin addiction and all the poison that comes with it. I look back now and still with a very heavy heart miss some good people who’s lives ended much to young because of it. “Some Girls” was just starting to take off and we we’re all literally living every song. It felt like this was our time to be into the Stones as we all heard and knew all about them when we were younger. I’ve always loved the Stones . My brother turned me on to them when I was a lad of 9yrs old and musically haven’t looked back. To this very day I grab my pictures of my old crew, turn the cell off sit back and listen to it from start to finish. To me the appeal of the Stones is obviously their music but they touch that place in the soul and connect in a way no other band can. I’m clean now and no way near enough still hook up with those of us who were lucky and fortunate enough not to have succumbed to addiction. “Some Girls” is more than just a Stones album. It’s a homage to lost good people and a time when there was still innocence and naivety and we all lived and laughed for the moment and the music... See ya on the other side...
Wyman is - undeniably - the best rock bassist today. I would love to hear any of these kids - inc. Esperanza Spaulding and anyone else - get his sound which just comes naturally to him. The lines connect effortlessly and everything connects in perfect steps. Mick and Keith are idiots for not bringing him back.
I love Charley's playin' on this tune , its raw, and fast and i think he even hits a rim shot that was left on the track. It all gives it a raw, live, Stones sound. Wouldn't want it any other way.
Imagine Mick introducing this song at a show in Canada: "How ya doing, Ottawa? I see the Prime Minister is joining us tonight. Good evening, sir. This one's about your mum and dad."
+sagrado5 Muy cierto. En vivo aumentaban las velocidades y no quedaba bien. O sacaban el pie del acelerador como en "No security" y peor. Pero la original es la perfección hecha canción. No me canso ni me cansaré de escucharla.
Two of the luckiest drummers in the world. Ringo cuz Best was fired and Charlie because he knew Mick and Keith and has always been the great low profile guy
Charlie was the best in London and the best in the world. Keith even said Charlie is the Stones. And they only started getting a lot of gigs after he offered to join them.
I would've loved to hang out with charlie in his hay day, he looks like he shut down a few bars or pubs in his glory days I'll bet their weren't to many who could hang with good ole' Charlie boy, ha ha .... get outta my life, go take my wife don't come back, ha ha....
midnight rider not at all have said self same thing elsewhere on YT. Not dissing Ronnie but the cat couldn't lace Taylors shoes musically. He was too introverted to be Stone but damn the guy was/still is a beast!
The tune is a homage to chuck. The lead is for the only guy with the privilege to get his punch in the face. Compare, th-cam.com/video/6ROwVrF0Ceg/w-d-xo.html Also compare bass. The bass plays walking lines in both. This tune is for Wyman and Keith. Period. Untouchable. Ask Pino Palladino to call tony levin for lessons to even touch wyman’s sound.

Some people say that Exile is the Stones masterpiece...I say oh no...Some Girls is the real masterpiece...what a glorious album. No filler all killer.
God almighty, we just lost Charlie! Godspeed, Mr. Watts. You were amongst the greatest!❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of the last, truly great Stones cuts. I mean, top 5.

"some Girls" is as close to a perfect album as they got. It was a rawness never recaptured, sadly.
Tattoo You ?
That change at 1:29 and 2:08 is pure stones..bill Wyman and Charlie were definitely the engine room.

Charlie really steps out in front on this tune! Great stuff!

Charlie is killing it on this tune. As always. R.I.P.

Best jam on the album. Awesome Keith Richards guitar.
I love Charley's playin' on this tune , its raw, and fast and i think he even hits a rim shot that was left on the track. It all gives it a raw, live, Stones sound. Wouldn't want it any other way.
+tricorn1776 Charlie is the engine room of this band: Mr Dependable.

Temazo!! Corta!!👏👏
This was played at punk clubs in 1978. It cut through to the real deal of rock.
I love the kick drum on this one
great...simply great!
Imagine Mick introducing this song at a show in Canada:
"How ya doing, Ottawa? I see the Prime Minister is joining us tonight. Good evening, sir. This one's about your mum and dad."
ripping through the solos
I love this song!
Bill Wyman was a beast on that bass, no wonder they had to go get black bassist after Bill left, so soulful.
Thank You from a Musical Artist that sso mgs likr like Mick
Your recording and upload is MINT!!! Cheers! !!
We talking heroine with the president. The easiest lay on the Whitehouse lawn. Stones driving on. With controversy and chaos. Just fuckin great.
great song.
ahhhhhhh reminds me of my dad riding in his firebird :)))
listen the bass on this - great whoever it is
Non other than Bill Wyman ! He really came into his own from 78-83. His bass playing during that period was phenomenal
Hi one of the best songs
CHARLEY BLOWS RINGO AWAY
yea, but they're all different
Lmao nice opinion

get outta my life, go take my wife don't come back, ha ha....
I realize i'm beating a dead horse, but i can only imagine mick taylor tearing up a lead guitar on this one.
