I too got into K-pop because of BlackPink, but once I discovered MMM, there was no turning back. From their incredible vocals/harmonies, diverse styles & expansive discography, to their crazy, care-free personalities. I absolutely love these girls.
I'm almost completely the same! BP were my favorites, as well, but after hearing and seeing my Radish Queens, and hearing what they went through when they first debuted massage me fall in love!
Just to input regarding Byul signing
Byul never sang before 2018. Well she kinda did but never officially due to her self confidence. She debuted as a singer in their song Paint Me at it was a big deal for Moomoos because we believed in her singing plus she posted some singing covers and performed in their concerts only for the fans to hear. I'm glad to see more people appreciating Moonbyul's voice! Yayyy
I tend to prefer people with more bass in their voices and I fell in love with her as soon as I heard her speak!

Yes and no. She never sang _in Mamamoo._ She was originally a vocalist, but was forced to learn to be a rapper for Mamamoo (under threat of not being permitted to debut) as there were too many vocalists in the group, she was the weakest of the four, and they needed a rapper. She acquiesced, and the rest is destiny.

In defense of their agency, they accepted them into their company and debuted them as a group even though they thought they weren’t pretty. Their company trusted and supported them for all of these years. Solar even told JYP that his company rejected her in the past.
So their company was not trying to insult them, they were actually guiding them into success by making them accept the reality of the show business in Korea and I think they did a great work. Mamamoo climbed up to the top relatively slowly but surely and now they were recognized internationally too. They are holding their position with their strong roots.
In a business world where most of the work’s been done by the companies, they had to work hard for themselves. That’s kind of unique for idols in Korea. That’s a strong reason for me to respect them and appreciate their work more than any other groups.
I too appreciate their company going out on a limb to sign someone that may have seemed like a bigger risk, and I heard they give them a lot of creative freedom!

That's why we see them enjoy every stage we see them and goes hard, treating every stage as their territory and audiences as part of their performance. Tho bp is also my top group, mmm is slightly above them cuz of their situation with yg.. they are the opposite of what mmm had, which is the creative freedom but will do support them when they drop a song. Soo glad to have found you're channel keep up the good work!

I have Snow coming soon! I'm sad to hear that she didn't really start singing in their songs until around 2018, but happy she had the confidence to start singing in their newer music! I'm in love with her voice! 🌚❤
It's ok to not have a bias that just proves how you love all of them genuinely and how each members shine on their own way and there's no one that outshine others because ALL of them are so talented and versatile.
My bias in Mamamoo is... MAMAMOOO!
As many have probs told you already, Byul didn't really start singing as part of the group until 2018 with Paint Me (if you wanna be more specific, then at a year end show of 2017.) After being told to be a rapper, she had lost much of her confidence in singing and would only sing to moos short snippets of different songs and upload it on the fan cafe. Once in a while we would get a whole cover song but only be uploaded on fan cafe under a section called MoonMooBi (Moonbyul Moomoo Bimi [Secret]). She slowly grew her confidence back enough to sing as part of the group, which is the byul you know. Out of all the Immortal Song performances, she only sings in two and that would be the recent ones. Anything before that she would mainly rap and harmonize with girls.
I've been a moo for years now and Byul singing still gets me emotional because i came into the fandom with a shy hamster who turn red after singing one line of a random song she covered a while back. Now she recently sang Snow on a music show because the PD wanted her.

I would recommend the live stage of Mamamoo with song ten nights on show music core! Because all of them showed who is vocal queens of this era) other shows cut this song so I recommend to look up on “show music core”! Also, you can look on their latest performance in immortal songs2 with song “meeting”, amazing performance where all of them sang!
I actually would like to recommend you their award shows, because that they really show performances, you don’t know every time what to expect: it may be different reversion of the songs:remix,acoustic,rock; but it can be that they perform new song

Fun fact. Wheein and Hwasa are original Blackjacks (2NE1's fandom name). Park Bom from 2NE1 is Wheein's one and only idol and she collaborated on her song 4.44.

As you probably know by now, moo means radish in Korean and Mamamoo fans are called moomoos. Moomoos welcome new fans by saying Welcome to the radish farm! Moomoos also have a saying: Once you Wheein you can't Whee-out! 😊
This video is from their first major concerts in 2016 and at that time Moonbyul pretty much only sang the low harmonies. She started singing more with Paint Me in Jan '18, which was a pre-release single from the first album in MMM"s four album series 4 Season 4 Color. Moonbyul's solo songs include Selfish (w/guest Seulgi from Red Velvet), In My Room, and Love & Hate. I also recommend checking out Ten Nights, a b-side song from MMM's most recent album "reality in BLACK" - Moonbyul has a major singing role in that song.
In case you don't know about Immortal Songs 2, it's a singing competition tv show that usually pays tribute to an older artist by having groups and soloists sing covers of their "immortal songs." IS2 is usually dominated by well-known mainstream singers rather than idols and Mamamoo is the only kpop group with multiple wins on the show (3). They've appeared on IS2 14 times starting at the beginning of their career and they quickly developed a rep as the scary rookies nobody wanted to follow on stage. Each of their IS2 performances are terrific but my personal favorites are their version of the Tom Jones song Delilah from the 60's and the beautiful ballad Backwoods.
I think it's time to give you more info about 4 Season 4 Color. Paint Me is a vocal masterpiece and is the theme song of the 4S4C project. Imo one of their main goals was to paint self-portraits in music using the colors & seasons as their thematic palette. You've reacted to Egotistic, which was the Red/Summer title track. The other 4S4C title tracks are Starry Night (Yellow/Spring), Wind Flower (Blue/Fall) and Gogobebe (White/Winter). Each season & color also relates to a stage in a relationship that cycles around like the seasons, going from innocence to attraction to passion to heartbreak (note they started the album cycle with attraction/spring). Each member was assigned a color and she performed a self-composed solo song on the album representing her color. 4S4C is an unprecedented project by a girl group and is one of the most complex, ambitious artistic achievements in kpop history. The title tracks and solo songs are great and many of the b-sides are just as good so I recommend you listen to all 4 EPs: Yellow Flower, Red Moon, Blue;S, and White Wind. Blue;S is my fav.

@@V3actions Latin, jazz, swing, r&b, hip hop, reggae, rock ... the list goes on. You heard the reggaeton in Egotistic along with the flamenco guitar intro and in the bridge they went into a different rhythm with hand drum samples from either (or both) Indian and Middle Eastern sources. Imo the funky horns & guitar in Hip were derived from ska then re-imagined over a different beat. They even did a mashup of a spaghetti western OST country style sound with future trap on one of their new songs Destiny. Anything goes as long as it sounds good - they're always trying new things and we never know what they'll do next. 😂
