I'll never forget the moment I was schooled in the realities of what being a cop really meant. I was still a rookie with about 3 weeks on the street. My FTO and I got a call to a seedy motel about screams being heard. As we pulled up I heard the horrific cry of a small child and charged the room smashing in the door. The child's mother had a hot iron and was pressing it down hard into the bare stomach of the 3 year old. I shoved her out of the way and had to peel the hot iron out of the child's flesh. Based on the depth of the wound she had been doing this for quite some time. I was so enraged I spun to face the mother and was reaching for my revolver. My FTO stepped in front of me and stopped me and said "it's part of the job, you have to learn to deal with it". I never lost it like that again but my eyes were opened that day for sure.
Arcamemnon Horrific. You acted as any sane man would have. And your FTO acted as a tried and tested mentor. Thank you for your service, its unforunate you have to witness such things, but because you did, hopefully that child is healed and alive, and the mother is behind bars. Lucky for her your FTO stopped you from blowing her lights out. Nothing I could say as a civilian will express my support the way Id like it to be recieved, so I just say thank you, and Godspeed sir.
Listening to this makes me feel like he had flashbacks and nightmares frequently...... Through all of these ugly truths, I see a beautiful person. Thank you for your service.
officer401 Thank you! My boyfriend and I always watch your videos! Wr support you and the blue 100%, excluding the few bad apples. Have a wonderful night!!!
officer401 same as him/her dude, from how you spoke, it definitely feels like it's coming from heart. i can tell you were very serious, yet you chose to continue being an officer/detective. massive respect man.
As a paramedic I have seen many of these that he is listing off. It stays with you. Whenever someone asks you what the worst call you have ever had you respond with "which one?"
My dad is also a paramedic and I have so much respect for emergency responders from the stories he tells me. He is now a charge dispatcher but still gets calls that are difficult. Some of the things I have heard make my heart hurt....
My step dad is a firefighter and paramedic as well. He is so unphased by death its unbelievable they way he talks ab it is so bland like he’s unaffected
Many sympathies to you and the rest of his family (because I'm pretty sure he's family to you). Same question as Alex - "Did he live?", but I get the feeling the answer is "no".
@@DoughnutLord50 Your post was months ago, and the question was only posed a few days ago. Don't fret about any delay. Thanks much for the update. So glad he's ok!
This is easily one of the most powerful videos I've ever seen. You shouldn't be so modest when you talk about how quickly your channel has grown. You've earned every sub.
I 100% agree. There is nothing sensationalized like what we typically see. For outsiders, such as myself, this video alone give more perspective for officers than ever before.
the first time i was pulled over by a cop was when i was 9 and riding my bike with the right safety checks. he gave me a DQ free ice cream ticket for being safe on my bike
niga knocka My first time I was high as fuck with a friend and the cop pulled me over because I was driving at night without my headlights on. He let me go lol
first time me and my friend were riding bmx around Long Beach and we found some dude asleep on the sidewalk.Cops said he was on Xanax and he gave me a fidget spinner that he confiscated cuz some kid was throwing it at strangers lol.
lol my local PD does that with little children too, too bad i'm too old for that. anyways my first time was just me being a dumb 16 year old trying to troll a cop, turns out there were some outstanding tickets on the car and that got my sister (she owns it) arrested, had to wait 2 hours for her to pay up and get processed... damn
My father is a retired police officer, he never brought his work home with him but he always made sure we knew the dark side of life and showed us the value of integrity and honor and what it looks like for those who don't posses such values. Ty for your service 401
I've been an officer for just four months and it's amazing how much of this I've already experienced. Officer 401 is absolutely correct, it's a very rewarding career but it comes with its costs and sacrifices.
Jonathan Long as officer 401 said you will meet great people, such as your partner who you might get shot at one day and go to a bbq the next day as he said, and successful missions where you play with kids changing their view on cops etc. He touched a bit on this in the video.
In the 90s I went on a ride-along with my boyfriend who was the city of Miami cop, he had a call it was a triple homicide, I was so scared I didn't even want to leave the vehicle, he told me not to worry everything would be okay, when I entered the home it was the most horrific thing I've ever seen, that's when I knew I don't have what it takes to be a police officer. Much respect to you.
All of this and I’m still determined to do it. I want so badly to be involved with the community I grew up in, to give back and work with the kids in our community. My mom told me, people die everyday, people get killed sitting on the damn couch at home watching tv, why not be doing something meaningful, something worthwhile? Why not be of service to others? Thank you for the video!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am a retired Deputy Sheriff, served 21 years with my department. This video is 100% correct. You are going to see the worst things imaginable. But being there to help a victim makes all the bad stuff worth it. I have had parents come up to me years after I responded to a call to their house and thank me saying that the night I spoke to their kid, changed that kids life and turned them from the bad path they were heading down. You do have to face the fact you cannot save everyone. But if you can save one, it makes it all worth it. Throughout my whole career I had one main rule. Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated. It don't matter if you were a victim or a suspect or just a witness. Treat everyone with respect and professionalism. Until that person did something to the contrary then they brought that on themselves. But still stay professional. You will deal with the worst people in society. Put yourself in their position, would you want a cop coming up to you and talking down to you. No so don't do it to others. And remember the better you do your job the longer these people do in jail. And one final thing, don't be afraid to talk to people. You can get alot of information from people just by talking. I had a suspect one time I felt it was about to get into a physical fight when it wad time to arrest him. I could see he knew it was coming and started squaring off, puffing up, when i asked him, dude thats a nice car, what year is it?, something that simple threw him off and just kept asking questions about the car. After a bit he calmed down and when it was time to put him in cuffs, he knew I was there just doing my job and I was human. Best years of my life. So if your considering becoming a law enforcement officer, yes there is alot of bad out there, but the little victories make it all worth it. Stay safe my brothers and sisters
As a Marine Veteran and as a current LEO I wanted to start to cry at the end around 8:20. most people don't understand the toll it takes on your own mental state. thanks again 401 from South Carolina
FrontManMilitia Hooah. I've only been an officer for over a year and 2 months. And I've already attended a fellow officers funeral. Held his wife. His 3 kids. I'm only 25, and have seen and done so much shit that even in my dreams I'm still seeing it. But I do it to give everyone a better future. That's what keeps me going. -Officer D.
thanks from south carolina again. and thank you, sir, for serving our country. i want to be a cop, and ive been well aware of all of this for quite some time. ill be going for my criminal justice degree next fall as well, so wish me luck.
Officer, just so you know. I was one of those little kids that was abused and abandoned by my parents. I had so many cops over the years of my childhood genuinely trying to help me. They couldn't. My parents told me to lie. I just turned 21 and now I'm pursuing a career in law enforcement. Because of people like you that can see the reality of a situation but are just fucked over by big wigs and make it so you can never help a kid.
MaximilianMus ikr, this dude is OBVIOUSLY lying, i mean everyone knows that nobody gets abused, and cops certainly never try to help the not-abused children pshhh 😑
I used to hate cops; they came so many time in my home when I was a kid, parents from he'll. But as I grown up; you guys have all my respect. Tough job for sure.
One thing I never expected was the support and compassion I received at the hands of two arresting officers. I have been having so many years of depression and anxiety, and shit just not workin out and, well, lotsa stuff just went wrong so quickly, and even though I was shocked and humiliated and in total disbelief at what is going on, I have never experienced so much compassion and understanding than from the two officers that showed up. With open invitations to just come by and talk if you have nobody else. Damn, man, I really appreciate all you guys and gals. Thank you for your vids. And thank you for your honesty about all these topics. I applied once, but now in life, not sure if I could take it. You folks are something else, man. Thank you all.
Yeah. I,too, have chronic, clinical depression. Being a police officer isn't what you do see on television. What nobody ever realizes is the mountains of paperwork they have to put up with. You don't ever see that on any TV show. On any police shows on TV. Like the ever-popular TV police show "Law & Order ". ? I wonder if you're detained by the feds, and if they want you to talk to them without legal counsel present, and they try to interrogate you,& somehow they implacate (sorry, it's misspelled) you, don't you have the right to a lawyer? Despite of what I've read of the author David Baldacci's books, that you not entitled to one, until you've been convicted of any crime? Because I don't think it works that way in real life.
And in the movie, that had happened after some couple - who just happened to be black - had gotten pulled over for 'reckless endangerment'. Right in the middle of L.A. 's busy street. Or intersection. Man,that LA cop had no right to do something like that! And I had thought,"Go figure." Being of what a huge mega-city or a major metropolitan city like Los Angeles, California,of their police force being a racist institution. That has been nothing new to LA. (I've never been to LA. And,boy,oh boy,I hope I never do in my lifetime. It's a complicated issue in real life, too.
Los Angeles is WORLDS apart from a city like Corpus Christi,TX. I know that because I had born and raised here in Corpus. Why we natives and veteran transplanted citizens here in my hometown, call it just Corpus, and not formally Corpus Christi,I'll never know. I don't care. Saying just Corpus makes us who live here, look like as of we're hicks, backward, low and narrow socioeconomic group or groups, that makes us look bad. Compared to San Antonio. Or Dallas. Austin. Houston. In Texas. But whatever. (So much of me being from a financially low income socioeconomic nonexistant group. Been like that growing up all my life. Me, being the quite, introverted type. Go figure, huh.) Who knows what the police often think whenever I get stopped on foot. Because I don't own a car.
Hardest thing I ever did even though I'm new to the force was seeing an entire family burn to death in a jeep fire hit by a drunk teenager. Worse part is I went to school with the guy who was drunk. I was 2nd on the scene behind my supervisor and seeing a burned 3 and 7 yr old while I have a 4 and 6yr old literally broke me...I dropped to my knees and cried and cried and cried..it was so horrible I had to take some time off and went on vacation for a week just to hold my family close.
Thank you for risking your life to keep us safe. There are a lot of us who support you guys. It makes me sick all the protests from all the shootings even though most are justified but most ppl dont look into the facts. Stay safe out there. We appreciate you men and women.
Josh, I know its hard. But I have studied the Afterlife and interviewed many "Near Death Experience" survivors. Heaven, the Void and Hell is real. A vast majority of people will enter heaven. Some people are ashamed and are in the holding place called the void. They don't want to step over to the light. I think all officers needs to show compassion.
@@LK-pc4sq That vast majority will most certainly be the innocent children who have suffered through man's reign. Yes heaven and hell are real, I met God as well. There is a spiritual plane out there.
I used to hate police officers, i grew up around drug users and dealers. As i grew up i realized what Police Officers stand for and what they do for our community. Now im pursuing a career in law enforcement.
You get used to those things. Just, for god's sake, no matter how used to it you are, make sure you aren't in ear shot of civilians if you're going to crack a morbid joke to another cop.
Scottius Maximus Even if not in earshot. My partner (hardly) cracked a joke about a dead body. No one was in the house, but someone had their mic on. Guy said “dude she’s green, come look at her” Partner “I don’t wanna see no fuckin Martian” Even though my partner isn’t sworn, he got conduct unbecoming and 2 years probation.
@@zacrylist5748 how do they suffer if good cops, and bad cops get to keep their jobs anyway. It's not like every single cop has been recorded. It's not like the bad ones that do and make it to the mainstream media get fired. You obviously do not know about the 2,000 cases of police misconduct in Baltimore city, and many other corruption cases across the usa.
Same.. Was questioning lots of this, then a question came to my head, is this what we went through? Then he kept on going, and I said, shit, he actually went through this..
This video was so sad to hear 😢 It's the nature of the job but people really don't know what you guys experience on a daily basis. Stay safe and always thanks for what you do!
I quit my LEO career after just 7 months. Everything you said here is true and happens before your eyes, nose and ears. My takeaway was that I hated being there for the worst day of someone’s life, day after day, multiple times per day. I also took away one heck of a lot of respect and appreciation for police of all kinds. You deserve a lot more respect and money.
CCM Guitarist a lot of respect for you, people with weak self images and frail egos try to stay with it when it's really not for them. True strength of character to walk away. You are probably awesome at whatever you do now for that reason.
@@staycoolwithrob same to you sunshine what the fuck you ever do for this country were you ever a first responder or a Leo or in the military, I bet not probably still sitting in moms basement right people like you make me wish we would follow Israel's mandated public service before your even considered a real citizen later you little POS

+Goofy U gonna see a lot of dead bodies. People smashed in traffic accidents, things like that. Part of your job is speeding in traffic to arrive on the scene, so it's stressful. You need to handle stress well and have to have the guts to handle people who got disfigured completely. Some people will die under your care no matter what, in front of your eyes. Things like that. It's a tough job, although much less risky than being a cop.
@Scott Rule To not be respected in the healthcare community for what they go through is a travesty. I understand that doctors and nurses see the same things, but the ambulance people are the ones who get them to the hospital. Where would we be without them? They've gotten my handicapped and very ill boyfriend to the hospital many times, when it would have been impossible to get him there myself. He would have died many times if not for them. My mom and dad too. Every (honest) job is valuable. Where would we be without each other? (I'm not saying you think this way, I was responding to what your comment made me think of)
@@donnaknudson7296 agree so much with you. The ambulance personnel are people who really want that job. Most important first line to the hospital encounter. Careing an giving.
Good video. I hated traffic stops because you did not know what drunk fool will hit your patrol car or you, had it happen. Drunk drivers are drawn to flashing lights like a moth to a flame.
I'm a retired UPS trailer driver. They always said if you have to stop on the interstate to pull over as far as you could and shut every light off. Same deal a moth attracted to a light.
@@LK-pc4sq I suspect it's the same reasoning as in riding motorcycles you should keep your eyes on where you want to go. If you look to your right you will start drifting to it... now being drunk and focusing on the lights will make you drift towards them.
Drunk drivers can't see the lines on the road clearly - so they tail a bit behind your break lights in the hopes that at least YOU'RE driving straight and they can just follow your lights for as long as possible. The thing about that is, drunk drivers really can't tell the difference between a moving car's break lights and a red traffic light, or a car stopped at an intersection, or a truck's hazard lights on the highway shoulder, or even Christmas lights on a freaking HOUSE. Swear to God, I've seen drunk drivers hit, flip, kill, and destroy just about anything and anyone in their way. My parents are retired El Paso PD and they used to always tell me - "Remember to look three times before you cross a street, and green does NOT mean 'go'." Don't assume that everyone is driving as safely as you are, be defensive 100% of the time you're behind the wheel of one of those two-ton death machines we call vehicles 😅
Retired eight years ago after twenty years. Some in admin but most on the street. Not a big agency, only about 25 sworn. Everything this officer said is 100 percent true. The glow wears right off after you've seen your third or fourth Signal 46--Dead Body. Welcome to every possible way to decompose, about one per week for us. Very few of them homicides. And after you've walked away from that fatal car wreck that took the life of one of your fellow officers, and a total stranger literally pulls the shirt off his back and offers it to you to wipe your friend's blood off your face because you tried to save him with CPR, and when you and seven other officers carry his coffin the last one hundred feet--well, that's when you understand the meaning of the term "dead weight." You will carry him around for a long time. And then the glorious day comes when your know-it-all elected officials decide that your real function as a police department is "Crime Prevention." Thirty minutes after the clapping ends, a car gets stolen, or a house is burglarized, or some lowlife beats his girl friend into bloody pulp, and guess what? Now it's YOUR fault because you didn't PREVENT THE CRIME from happening. So keep your nose clean and hold on to your shitty-ass pension until you can try to walk away from it all with a little bit of dignity. Good luck with that. Hey, I'm not bitter. Maybe a little cynical, but I never claimed to be Captain America.
I work for children’s division and I am grateful everyday for the officers who serve and do the job that’s even worse than the things I see. Thanks for your service!
Reasons like these are why law enforcement officers should be paid more. They deal with so much shit and unfortunately are very underpaid. Such a shame.
Speaking of drunk drivers, my friends dad was a cop for our city, very well known and respected, I think he was a lieutenant, I'll keep it anonymous for privacy reasons, but they were on vacation in Florida, on the way home, a drunk driver got on the wrong on rap for interstate, drove head on into them, he somehow turned the car so he would absorb all the impact, he had cardiac arrest and died on seen, his wife was injured and hospitalized, the 2 kids in the back seat walked away, was the biggest funeral I've seen, his son that was in the car with him, well we graduated high school a year ago and he's now going to West Virginia state trooper school, in honor of his dad
A cop saved my life. I used drugs and was overdosed in a slump. Alone. In my car. And without that officer even giving a single shit about me and 6 narcans in my chest later, I respect you guys so much. Thank you. Also the EMTs helped me too :p ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
glad you're okay. i've seen people turn their lives around quite drastically after overcoming their addiction (a close friend who fascinates me overcame a heavy opioid addiction and did very well for himself). i hope your journey ends up in a good place
dj dyck people like you are the reason I don't get upset when the police don't get there in time. it's a nice reminder of how much the police do to protect and help us.
We watched a kid burn to death in a car one night. He was calling out to my officers before I got there. They were so messed up after that. Angry they could not save him. I wish I could get one of those MIB flashy things to erase my memory when I retire in 5 years. It really takes a piece of your soul. Too many terrible memories, just too many.
@Patricia A. Badea Because a kid atleast deserves to have a taste of pain and beauty in life. Unfortunately God never made this world perfect, people die all over the world in the most horrific ways you can never imagine.
Omg I hear you! I wish science would hurry up and develope something to precisely remove specific memories, a "memory surgical strike". It could be possible, we just don't know enough yet about the way memories are stored. If I was rich I'd fund research to find an "MIB flashy thing" equivalent. There are memories people shouldn't have to carry.
I'm 15 years old and earlier this year I decided firefighting is the career I want to pursue and think I would love. There is nothing like firefighting
Just a question. I want to be a cop so bad. It’s what interests me it’s what I have a drive for. But I hear all of this bad stuff and like how cops don’t get paid that much. Like are you well off? Sorry if that’s too personal, I just really would like to do this job, but the pay kind of worries me if it’s really that bad and also what people think about cops.
Meghan Singz like any job it has its highs and lows. The money part most of the time have investments you can do like deferred comp or thrift savings plans for retirement. Also, most of the time there is always overtime available and parttime gigs you can get. Which ever departent you work for check around and compare saleries and benifits.
troll face because cops dont kill people everyday and some how the facts will get skewed and then it turns into a race issue. So, he just covers the basics.
My uncle was shot on patrol and i cant even begin to think how his friends felt after seeing him like that, thank u so much for telling people what actually happens to cops when they receive that badge
Let me also add this: I worked in EMS for 7 years as an EMT in the DC area before going on to medical school. It is not at all unusual (at least back in the 80's or 90's) to have cops that have double rolls as volunteer firefighters and paramedics. Because of their police training they saved my ass more times than I can count. Example: An unconscious drunk regained consciousness and grabbed my leg while taking his blood pressure. The guy was huge and I was maybe 19. The FF/Cop sprang into action and had him in a head-lock within 5 seconds. For anyone who thinks cops are pigs, just remember the next time someone breaks into your house or a family member stops breathing or you are in a horrible accident. Chances are, the first people on the scene will be a cop and they will save your ass too. Thank you for your service and thank's for saving my ass.
When they respond to an accident and lie about it , blaming the victim, protecting the person without valid insurance who hit you on a bicycle from the rear, then try to STOP you from filing a report. See how they "save your ass" then. If I had a home invasion, these bozos would probably arrest me, and tell the perp to have a nice night in my home. And NO....I don't have any negative history with them.
I've been typically unbiased toward cops my whole life. My brother, age 17, decided he hates cops. We are a white family with enough money to do a little more than get by. We live in a decent neighborhood with a good cop 2 roads down. Yes some cops are bad. But the media is overwhelmingly biased about showing a majority of bad cops. You and a cop from my hometown have made me realize how much you guys go through. I love you Officer 401, and thank you for your service.
P.S. The other cop from my town that helped me realize what you guys go through has quite the story. Everyone calls him Preacher. He was involved in a chase and gunfight, and left with a bullet through his left nut. Had to have surgery on it. He now makes jokes about it while catching up with townies. Great guy. I have mad respect for you guys.
I live in denmark and here the cops gets mandatory psychologist sessions when they have been dealing with death or other traumatic experiences. Maybe that pracsis could help the american cops as well
@@DeadDave666 That's a bald faced lie and you know it. What do you propose lawlessness ? Anarchy ? There are corrupt cops and that's a fact but there are many more good ones who take the job they do seriously. A sense of duty to serve and protect. Sorry but you are a liar and must have a personal problem with law enforcement. Don't make blanket statements about the overwhelmingly good cops who serve to protect the rest of us.
My good friend retired from Boston PD. He is now coping with PTSD. He is getting help and I told him I am there for you no matter what you need. A shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen or just anything.
I would like to thank all police and fire officers. I will never forget the day when an officer arrived at my door and told me at 10 years old that my sister was in a car crash. Police and firefighters did everything they could and even came and dropped food off for my family who never left the hospital. Sadly she passed but it inspired me to want to be a firefighter. That was a few years ago and I am forever greatful to the police and fire officers
I had experience with a dead body as a intern for a smaller police department. Very sobering moment in my life and made me realize a lot of things, it was very sad to learn he had no relatives and was a loner so it was a very sad day. But I learned a lot and actually it drove me to become an officer even more. Currently working on becoming a State Trooper in Michigan.
Officer 401, Thank you for always keeping it real, showing transparency, and not being afraid to voice your opinion to the public and community you serve. Be safe out there!
I was raised seeing drunks and violence, lots of close calls as a kid. When I seen police I new it it was over. Till the next time, riding in a police car I remember the peace thank you peace officers.
I saw an episode of Cops a really long time ago (maybe early 90's). The cop featured as pretty senior, a Captain I think. He was clearly suffering from burn out. They got called to a murder scene. This guy, (who had a protective order against him) had broken in and shot his wife and kids, ranging in age from about 6 to 6 months. He killed his family then himself. The cop took one look at the baby in the crib with his head blown off and just left. He left the camera crew at the scene, drove back to the station and turned in his badge. You guys see the very worst of society every day. And how often do you get to see the good side? I have no idea how you guys stay sane. "Respect" is not a strong enough word here.
I don't know how anybody could work for the public and dedicate their life to serving the public and yet be so hated by the public. Most cops are very under paid and work long hours.
Thomas Young agreed people don't respect cops when they should and the only reason they don't is either they did something or they are scared of cops because what a minority of cops do I think you should listen and respect and like cops more
True KingEthan respect is earned and as a cop and a human they have to earn that respect on every stop with a citizen as well as the citizen. It's a thankless job that only a select few can actually do and many more do who shouldn't wear the badge. People feel certain ways about cops because there are those cops that don't belong who do horrible things with the power they where trusted with. It's just the way it is
Crazy to think I watched this years ago without any expectation of being a cop. Earlier this week in the classroom, I watched this same video in my academy class. Thanks 401 for putting me on the right path!
This is exactly what I was looking for the cold truth. Thank you so much for your videos and service, I can’t wait to soon start the academy. I really want to make a difference just like you
Esmeralda Delgado the cold truth is what this man has given me and it’s still not going to stop me from trying to make a difference and be everyone’s protector ( even though that’s impossible I will try with everything I have ) !
This man hit it right on the head. Similar things can be said for those in the Fire and EMS service, I’m an EMT myself. Like he said, these are just the ugly moments. No Guarantee a First Responder will experience any of these horrific tragedies every shift or the next shift. There are a lot of happy moments, I would argue more than ugly ones. But the reason the ugly moments are more important is because it’s not the happy ones that wake you up at night. It’s not the happy ones that you question if you made the right call. It’s not the happy ones that make you wonder if you’re going to come home to your family that night. It’s not the happy ones that stick with you for the rest of your life. It’s not the happy ones that lead to anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Everyone trys to live their life the happiest, and the fullest it can be. You can never have too much happiness in your life. But you can have too much sadness and broken hearts. Some people can tolerate those ugly moments better than others, but everyone has their breaking point. It’s natural for humans to experience joyful times, it’s not natural for humans to witness horrific scenes and pain and suffering on other humans, so often. That is the unfortunate reality of a Law Enforcement Officer, or any First Responder. They see more trauma and broken people/families in one month than the average citizen sees in their entire life. So if you decide to become a First Responder, that’s fantastic! But understanding these ugly moments that you will inevitably see is why it’s important to ask for help when YOU need it. First Responders are always hesistant to call for help themselves (I’m guilty as charged.) Some things are understandable. Even the stubborn ones that will walk on their broken leg immediately after surgery or something like that. When it comes to mental health, you CANNOT wait until that spirals out of control before you ask for help. And as a First Responder, keep an eye on your colleagues. It is far more difficult and time consuming to heal a broken brain than a broken leg. Mental illnesses are very real, and are arguably more dangerous than real illnesses. Real illnesses can be treated with proven medicines, which is a science. Since every person is different, it’s impossible to know how their brain works. If it’s sick, such as reliving a horrible car accident where 3 children died, the brain plays tricks on the person and does what it wants. It’s impossible to look into your head, so it’s impossible to find the best solution. That’s why mental health issues take so long to bring under control, if at all. Become a First Responder for the happy moments, but be aware of the ugly moments. And when you’ve seen too many ugly moments, reach out. Get help. You’re colleagues will be there for you.
Not to start a fight in a comment section, but, regardless of the stress of the job it doesn't excuse the actions of "the bad apples". People aren't anti-police just because they want to be(for the most part), most are that way because of the evil, disgusting, brutal, psychopathic actions of some officers who then receive no punishment. With that being said, every law enforcement officer is a bad apple. Why? You cannot claim to uphold the law, then let your co-worker break the same laws you claim to uphold and call yourself good. To end my comment I would like to say, I am anti-police but I am not anti-officer. I do not like where law enforcement currently is, but I am not specifically against my fellow human beings who choose to be apart of it.
It amazes me the things the anti-cop people who talk like all cops should be killed on sight. All this bravado when their anonymous, probably a sniveling coward in real life.
In 5th grade, I was in the D.A.R.E program and I absolutely loved the officer that came to my school and taught us. At the end of the school year, we were going to have a party for our graduation, and the day of the party I got the news that my officer had been killed by a drunk driver on his way to work that day. I was heartbroken and I never forgot him. He was a huge part of my life and he still is today. There is a picture of him on my bedroom wall and it has been there since 5th grade (I'm in 10th grade now). When I moved, it was the first thing to go up in my new room. I just want you to know that although there are people out there that hate you guys, I appreciate you guys so much and that you guys are truly inspiring and deserve so much respect for the work you do.
I am a firefighter and I can't say I have seen or gone through most of this. but yea you do see alot you were never prepared for. if I may add one thing though. in the fire academy and I'm sure the police academy is the same way. they teach you how to be hero and how to do good but no one ever teaches you how to come home. stay safe and remember the red line will ALWAYS have your back.
I couldn't agree with you more! I am an EMT and I have been on some very rough calls- from strokes, to a dead person from cardiac arrhythmia, to bloody wounds. What they will never prepare you in school for are the horrifying calls that come from your dispatcher to respond to. That one dead body surely changed the way I thought about the living and the dead. Like Officer401 says, you never know when the fly will drop or when the stuff hits the fan. As I'm nearing my 20th B-day, all I can say is to everyone out there is love your family, friends, and anyone else out there who is keeping you safe like fellow police officers, firemen, and ems because, like every living thing, it will die someway and somehow. Enjoy it while you still can! Because others are sadly suffering out there and need help. But for anyone going into public services like these, you are doing a great thing for people! I honor that with all my heart. You go and save people's life! Do your job and your protocols right, and you'll be proud of yourself, even if you tried so hard to keep someone alive and it sadly doesn't happen. And remember, "it's not all about the badge, uniform, equipment, etc!" --officer401
Every time a police car drives by me I will say a prayer for their safety and God’s strength and protection. I know firsthand the things they see and have to do. Law enforcement and Military, God bless you all.
I have been at what I was told a horrific scene... two cops right up close is about all I remember... after as I was being loaded into the ambulance I saw something but put it down to we'll maybe I was dreaming. 4 weeks later I got to meet the two cops and found out that it wasn't a dream. Before the Ambo doors closed I thought I saw one of the cops legs just buckle under him and the other grabbing and holding him.. they looked distraught... turns out - I looked kinda gruesome and they had to we'll hold my bits together... so when the ambulance arrived and took over it was like these two cops (who most certainly saved my life ) were running on adrenaline and once I was safely in the ambulance - they collapsed with exhaustion. But never for one second did I see anything but two strong calm cops do everything they could to keep me awake... which included terrible singing and even more terrible jokes. I could not do what cop/officers (whatever you want to call them) do. They have so much more then physical strength. And I personally will be eternally grateful for the strength the gave me that night many many years ago!
Greatful to hear you are recovering. Yup they sang to me to....it is charming when they are off key... Let there be no doubt that when you sing to someone they shall always turn towards the sound of your heart. Also had a cop sit by my bedside and make an amends to me. He is ah man amongst men. I grow weary of people stating that cops can't make mistakes. They are human as,well. And sometimes the simple acknowledgement is ah greater healing than all the meds or surgery can provide. It is the healing of the soul. It is ah sacred private moment. I don't say his name...no need to create problems for ah mistake that anyone could make. Right now he knows I see him as one of the blue heroes....i call him Officer Hard Knight...it was a hard night when I met him lol. He was hard on me....but what is true as well is he was having a hard night! We worked in out. Privately, nobel...he is a great cop. And I would rather have him on the streets than off. He is the perfect hard core no nonsense guy when your in real trouble. I guess I could have nicknamed him Officer d@!k but after he sat beside me....watching me get meds and drift off into oblivion with double ivs....i remember I was panicked because the meds made me loopy and I began feeling vulnerable. All I could say is..."I'm feeling it...im feeling the meds and I don't like it" I was terrified at the vulnerability the meds forced me into. He gently smiled and rolled closer and warmly smiled and said " nothing is going to happen to you, I Am here. Just rest it's ok. I'm going to be right outside your door and no one is going to hurt you. I give you my word." I wanted to say so much to him...i wanted to thank him, or at least say something snappy and entertaining but couldn't because of the sedation. I just looked up terrified. Muted. Feeling slow and dumb. Many people like the sedation...but for me it means terror. You see I was intentionally set on fire at the age of 4 and sedation meant I was going to get debried, or some other procedure that was,a fate worse than death. It's probably why I don't drink much and never smoke pot....because for me when you guard is down you are vulnerable to a fate worse than death. It doesn't matter that you are 50yrs older....the somatic memory remains. The next cop that came in saw me shaking with shock....i was so cold....he got another blanket and tucked me in like a burrito. X marine....i thanked him for his service in the military and he said humbly...basically I was just an infantry man on the ground. I walked around alott and shot a few people. I learned how to take care of myself. nothing's going to happen to you....not on my watch. Your going to be ok...nothing is going to happen to you here. You can rest now. Because I kept going into shock they kept sedating me# And I hated being sedated....like a wild animal struggling against a,will to survive... I may not remember there names...but I remember there kindness. They were undaunted by my flinches or uncontrollable tremors....they sensed that what my experience in the world was also great....and there warm steady hands and unshakable compassion patience and understanding spoke volumes not in their words but their actions...a warm smile, waiting till I fell asleep, tucking in around my feet, reassurance that for that time no harm was going to come to me....and NOT retracting when I flinched but meeting that knee jerk reaction with a warm smile and gentle touch and persistence as if to say....you are safe with me. Something deep and profound which was something my mind knew but my body didn't listen to. No enemy shall harm you....i am your ally...i shall watch over you until you are able to stand up again....and You shall be alright! Cops, they are all different in their own ways. And it takes all kinds of folks to have a well rounded force. Officer friendly, officer hard knight, officer Cadillac, deputy b52 (from the love shack), officer tinker bell, the golden mean, peacock (swatt)...patrolman Kelly Clarkson and the rainbow band(no joke we were chatting and suddenly when she started speaking of spiritual perspectives and her personal beliefs a rainbow appeared!), milkshake, officer cookie (she was the one with the bag with the best cookies), officer A-1, Lamborghini (his real name is Ferrari but he's a c hristian so I remember him by the saying two shakes of a lamb's tail), there's oneduhwoman, woody (from toy story...no kidding he looks EXACTLY like the character and I did not name him his coworkers did), there's lionheart, officer goody 2 shoes, GQ, dolci gabbanna, moma bear, officer sassy (cat fights broke out with that name), queen of the damned (she works corrections and is a sweetheart of ah gal), LT sweettalk (I can't speak to him much because he makes me soft inside), motha Teresa, Tom thumb, funny thing is the toughest ones like the softest nicknames, like deputy bunny (a male btw), and when I saw tinker bell I said let's change your name up 2 something more hard core and she got a twinkle in her eye and said "I Am the Mexican Tinker bell. You gave me magic powers, and I Am not giving them back!" Everyone laughed....that was that I guess.... As an investigational journalist and fiction writer I gathered all of the names into a group called "the Bam.boo" club. I thought about writing a little book for only law n4rczment to cherish and smile, Mickey D likes his burgers lol...and 007 is very james bond lol...i have over 4 depts on the list....even had to quell a couple of sword fights and cat fights over a name here and there (can you believe one LT from another dept tried to Shanghai ah name from another dept....he got a 28p love note from me stating although I ape.re.cia.ted his forward move it ain't happening lol. Rank does not matter, neither does color, or anything else, each gets there own individual call sign and he got ah 10yard penalty...there is officer Samahdi on his crew, b9k ah k9 cop duo, and I think officer terror-bite, she's cool though.... The goon squad (ya have to be over 6'1" stature has its priveledge ah lovely group in booking that will happily greet those entering hotel California who are in need of that extra special loving care 4 those who n.joy ministering (counseling) those who need extra ah10shun every now and then. I always say incarceration and arrests need not always be an unpleasant experience as long as you play well with others and abide by kindergarten rules of following Good Orderly Conduct and keep your hands to yourself right. These are the Bamboo Club....those who protect and serve, who are the n obel onez, tirelessly carrying out there duty everyday...in ways the general public can not imagine. It is these that I strived to work well with.... It is these faithful men and women who not only changed my life but the lives of others. Daily. They are....the badge of spirit, humanity, faith, and grace. They are not only the letter if the law but the spirit if the Law. They are the Bamboo club....the thin blue line.... They are justice.... They are the long arm of the law Who bend their knee and stand watch over the streets devoted On high watch They are the ones who sacrifice Their badges shine brighter than the son 4 all US 1 and all.
I saw this in my recommended. I’m a 14 yr old and I kinda wish I didn’t watch this video. Thank you cops for all your service, and in these times I want you guys to know I have your back!
officer401 It's an old saying my first FTO used to say to me. Being in law enforcement has opened my eyes up to things I never would have witnessed otherwise. You get to see the very best and the very worst of society. It takes a special breed to do what we do. Keep up the good work man and stay safe.
Captain Crunch I've always been able to make time for my family. There were definitely some rough patches from time to time but having a loving and supporting family definitely made it worth it. I have free time to myself on days that I'm off, I spend most of those days with my daughter. Work schedule varies depending where you go but personally I work four days on three days off with rotating weekends. Right now I work 9pm-7am. I get to be up to put my daughter to bed and I'm always home in time to wake her up for school and pick her up when she gets out so it's perfect for me
Sadly enough, there are people who have to see it to believe it. I tell people these things happen and they don't believe it and deny sht like this goes on in the world. Why would anyone make this sht up as a joke or prank? This is real life and people have to wake the fk up.
Yea, you better believe they still expect us to be normal! My last report came from a woman who thought I had an attitude with her. She starved her young 3 yr/o daughter to death, and almost her infant son. The boy was 80% rash and dirt, and 100% skin and bones. While EMS worked on the baby boy to get him some care the mother just sat there texting her friend as if it was a normal Saturday night. Having kids myself I'm thankful another officer was there so I could stay level headed with her. -Officer D.
CodenameHaswell: oh yeah! good seeing you here. Yeah, I'm a fan of Officer401. Plus, I spend alot of time with cops and law enforcement, so it's an interesting perspective
I think this is hands down one of the best videos you posted. My upmost appreciation to you for communicating the real side of the job. We need more cops like you...and more people like you.
my dad was a police offizer in germany and he said the worst are car accidents because german autobahns have no speedlimits at some parts and some people dont know their limits. also sleepwalkers near autobahns. the first thing you find are usualy the shoes with the feet still inside. the bodys are bizarely riped apart a direct hit of a car with 200kmh or 120 mph is deadly in any way.
Not sure what your argument is, but it does not mean that speed limits should be instated in those parts of Autobahn. Artificially low speed limits do not serve any purpose, other than revenue generation, and are highly unsafe.
Elijah Thompson why are you trying to diss me? Honestly you're probably uncomfortable in your body so you have to take it out on people in TH-cam comments who express themselves and their opinions 🙄 smh
DavidChavez who do you think you are talking like this to a guy thanking the people who save lives and keep our society in check? Do you think your some cool guy because you can't feel basic human emotions and because of that you think your superior? Honestly people like you disgust me.
First of all thank you for these truly enlightening videos. This video made me cry.. knowing now..some of the things you and other officers go through. I know a few officers that are very kind to me.. and have met a few that were not. But I know now...the ones that were not..were most likely going through something. I realize I had NO right to judge them...and that I need to be a REAL woman of God and simply pray for each one...as well as do what I can to make their interactions with me more pleasant. 💕🌹💕
"When a kid hugs onto your leg and doesn't want to let go..." My heart, man... Every servant of justice is doing God's work. Keeping you guys continually in prayer. You guys need cover over your hearts and minds with all the things you see. God has to watch even the things you don't see, so just know he totally gets what you're experiencing. They call God a tyrant and monster too because he IS justice. Praying he removes all the bad memories and burdens and restore your peace after each experience because your are not only dealing with human nature but the demons that goad them on. An angel at every one of your backs, offices and squad cars in Jesus' name.
God has nothing to do with the horrors that we face every day. Pray till you have run out of words. Not one thing you pray for is going to change the behavior of a psychopath or sick, twisted individual that preys on the weak and vulnerable. Human beings are seriously flawed. If it makes you feel good to pray, then by all means do so. Brother......it aint gonna change one goddamned thing. I have seen million dollar mansions from the inside, and I have seen shooting galleries with dirty people and dirty infected hypodermic needles covering every inch of the floor, along with people so fucked up,or dead, and the other animals in the room turn his pockets inside out..take his coat and shoes. THAT is reality my friend. Devastating, but true.
T-zay, it is a beautiful thought and comment you made. Wishing every man or woman who serves at the cost of emotional and physical hurt is indeed noble. There may be some bad apples as they say , but that is in ALL occupations that us humans have. While I do not fgor one second believe in any god , and believe Jesus Christ was no more than a good willed man who saw the injustices of the Romans and some of the Jews, he is really the first Hippie, or radical to walk and defy tyranny ,knowing he would pay a high price if captured or charged. That takes a strong willed and noble man, and to me ,he was that. That ,in my humble opinion is far more brave and moving than anything I have done in my life. I do not agree with your Religion, or ANY organized religion, as they tend to make people think "my god is better than yours, and therefore I have a right to take your land and wage war on your kind" But your comment moved me, and I hope that your prayers are somehow answered. With respect, thank you.
@Antique Mickey you got that right! Ya think god would let a disease like corona virus out on the world? Or the Black death, or smallpox,to name just a few? When I was young, I used to consider that there could be a god out there. But even then,I knew that it was just another fairy tale. Noah`s ark. LOL yeah OK, you were told by god to build a ship and find a male and female of every species on earth. But some idiots take that as gospel...pure truth. That is sooooo fucking out of the twilight zone,it is not even funny. IMPOSSIBLE. IMPOSSIBLE to find that today with modern tech and mobility. The bible was written by zealot men,who had no clue as to what made it rain, or thinking the earth is flat and the sky could fall on you. Some idiots are now saying the earth is flat again. I blow lightning bolts out of my ass when I fart and the ground shakes when I get angry. Reading that dudes comment just made the fuckin world shake!!!
EMS guy here. I could not have said it better. Though you guys face many more dangerous situations, the same emotions come to mind when you speak of what people will encounter when they enter a life of public service. The glory fades and you can become a different person if you aren't careful. More people need to hear this before they jump into this career. Thanks for your service and as always, great video!
Thank you for your service sir. I joined the Air Force to become A Security Policemen. Only to be denied because I'm colored blind. They chose my job of notifying next of kin in casualties instead. I've seen some bad situations that you wouldn't wish on anyone. Security policemen stuck in a bunker for 12 hr shifts only to shoot themselves in the head because of the stress of being a officer or high divorce rates among cops. 19 yr old kid who was taking hear meds and decided to get drunk and thought he could fly off a 6 story bldg. DOD teacher who came home from work and stripped down to his boxers and had a heart attack laying on his bed. It was 95° and wasn't found for 2 weeks. When we found him we realized he had a 1/2 dozen cats. And you know what cats can and will do to a dead body. Thank you for all the shitty days you show up for work and try to impart empathy on people who can't spell it. Thank you for trying to stop unlawful people from doing harm to my friends family and neighbors. I wish I could help you do what you do and make this world a better place. God bless
Clint Hymes hey, I have notessed that you Said they dinied you because you are colorblind.....im looking to become a cop or go into the military....so can they dinie you because you are color blind.....i got red green color blindness
8 years of Army service, 2 tours in bad guy country.... The one image that lives with me over the others are the sights and sounds of a fellow soldier crying for is mother after an RPG ripped through his abdomen. It was his first tour, just turned 19. there was no way he was going to survive, he bled out as we tried dressing the massive wound..... PTSD is a real thing, even if you believe you have things handled, they stay with you for ever... My last tour was in bad guy country was in 1987, my biggest melt down didn't happen till 14years later, in the days following 911.... Its no joke. know your limitations, recognize when might be self medicating, seek help.
Andrew Brusherd...... Hi Andrew, thank you for your reply. Far be it for me to tell what to do, or how to handle your life and future, you are doing precisely what I did. By the time a graduated high school I had a date and time to be at basic training, all the leg work was done. We call military life,,, 'training',,,, in reality, its conditioning,,,,, you will be conditioned to react to any given stimulus a particular way... In itself, its a good thing, it will be invaluable to you, and your friends survival under fire.... In training, you'll be yelled at, deprived of basic needs,,,, placed in extremely uncomfortable conditions and expected to perform 'up to task'... Perform you must..... At a minimum, this stimulus in training is to assess how you might perform in a real life situation,,,, think on it in that fashion,,,,,, "they are conditioning you to be able to think and react, appropriately, under pressure".... Its not personal.... Although my son is presently serving in the US Army, I did not. I did my service in the British Army with the 1st Battalion The Black Watch,,, a Scottish regiment,,,, yes, I'm Scottish. During my service, I had the great fortune of training along side US services. We had great respect for each other, however, one US platoon commander was quoted as saying.... "You guys are f...ing nuts". Perhaps he was correct, although, I'd rather have consider ourself,,, intensely focused. If I may, I'd like to offer you the same advice I gave my son.... No matter which branch of service you choose to enter, make sure that the skills you learn transfer into civilian life. Good luck, young sir. I thank you, in advance, for your service.
sam madi I live in a neighborhood where I witness my neighbor getting shot and murder hearing him moan and breathing heavy my backyard neighbor was stab to death and the screams were horrifying raids, shootings, beatings, drive by(lots too) it something I saw a lot as a kid and became a norm and because seeing the police so much in my town and fighting this crime it's something that influenced me to be a police officer and I also got an academy date on October I never really looked forward in the badge gun siren none of that just the opportunity to get involved and help the community
sorry to hear that man and that what it all about its to help protect the city u grew up in to give to the people and let them know that there protected
Angel Ramirez... same here bro i hit like on every one of his videos before watching it...and after i do watch it i haven't yet ever regretted that i did push LIKE....
I’m the kid of two drug addicts, and all of my childhood memories is watching cops take away my momma , and knowing the reason I didn’t have a dad until I was 6 was because the cops took him before I was born, I was destin to hate cops , but I knew that every time my momma got out of jail, she wanted to turn her life around, she never did, but she wanted to, so I’ve always wanted to be a cop with the hopes that I’ll be some mothers breaking point, that makes her get clean, so my plans to become a sheriffs deputy, right now I work with children, and every once in a while a parent will come pick there kid up after just getting out of jail, or say goodbye on there way to court knowing there not coming back for a while, and it breaks my heart, which leaves me wondering if I’d be mentally capable of being a cop, thank you for this video, and thank you for your service
God bless you young man.. Desert storm vet here that's experienced some things that are barely possible to convey. Your videos are truly needed in this toxic hateful culture we live in. Thank YOU for your service!
That was a lot worse then I went through when I was 12 I'm sorry for what you had to experience
Wow I am humbled by this.
It would've been justified
We are living in Critical Times hard to deal with. 2Timothy Chapter 2.
Listening to this makes me feel like he had flashbacks and nightmares frequently......
Through all of these ugly truths, I see a beautiful person.
Thank you for your service.
Wow, thank you Kiawe.
officer401 Thank you!
Kiawe V after watching the video, reading this comment nearly brought me to tears.
Kiawe V I like your snake :)
@@sethb8831 it's just another day at the office
As a paramedic this is so true
Amen, and every one is vivid mine do not recur though I have to think about them so not PTS.
Real as it gets. My partner was shot in his chest yesterday on a warrant service. I feel helpless right now.
Did he live?
Uhhhhh. Bump?
Many sympathies to you and the rest of his family (because I'm pretty sure he's family to you). Same question as Alex - "Did he live?", but I get the feeling the answer is "no".
Sorry for the late response. He survived and is home with his family.
@@DoughnutLord50 Your post was months ago, and the question was only posed a few days ago. Don't fret about any delay.
Thanks much for the update. So glad he's ok!
I was pulled over yesterday and asked if they heard of you and they said no and I just looked crazy
I wish I was that famous haha.
"oh yeah that dickhead, i know him. Heres 5 more tickets" Lmao just kidding love the videos @officer401
LMAO Ryley!!
I pulled over a cop yesterday and asked them if officer401 knew them.
This is based on a true story. Maybe.
plot twist, the cop was officer401
This is easily one of the most powerful videos I've ever seen. You shouldn't be so modest when you talk about how quickly your channel has grown. You've earned every sub.
Thank you, my friend.
I 100% agree. There is nothing sensationalized like what we typically see. For outsiders, such as myself, this video alone give more perspective for officers than ever before.
Cal agreed .
Cal agreed 100%
Hillary Clinton what are you doing here?
the first time i was pulled over by a cop was when i was 9 and riding my bike with the right safety checks. he gave me a DQ free ice cream ticket for being safe on my bike
Neko Nominyan my first time he said it smelt like marijuana and charged me with possession
niga knocka My first time I was high as fuck with a friend and the cop pulled me over because I was driving at night without my headlights on. He let me go lol
first time me and my friend were riding bmx around Long Beach and we found some dude asleep on the sidewalk.Cops said he was on Xanax and he gave me a fidget spinner that he confiscated cuz some kid was throwing it at strangers lol.
Neko Nominyan First time, the cop took my to jack in the box, they’re really great people
lol my local PD does that with little children too, too bad i'm too old for that. anyways my first time was just me being a dumb 16 year old trying to troll a cop, turns out there were some outstanding tickets on the car and that got my sister (she owns it) arrested, had to wait 2 hours for her to pay up and get processed... damn
My father is a retired police officer, he never brought his work home with him but he always made sure we knew the dark side of life and showed us the value of integrity and honor and what it looks like for those who don't posses such values. Ty for your service 401
Integrity, honor,my ding-a-ling has more integrity and honor than all of law enforcement and the Justice department have put together.

I've been an officer for just four months and it's amazing how much of this I've already experienced. Officer 401 is absolutely correct, it's a very rewarding career but it comes with its costs and sacrifices.
Just wondering in what way is it rewarding I'm just curious because I'm planning on being a cop.
Jonathan Long as officer 401 said you will meet great people, such as your partner who you might get shot at one day and go to a bbq the next day as he said, and successful missions where you play with kids changing their view on cops etc. He touched a bit on this in the video.
8 months now.
Edward livingstone you first... Lowlife...

Not Charging it’s called the nineties
why were you allowed on the scene of a triple homicide? did he let you play with the murder weapon too? great police work they must do down there.
Dave D'Auria Journalism maybe
Dave D'Auria you ever heard about ride alongs dipshit? Guess not. Next time when you’re trying to look cool commenting at least try better.
@@davedauria4782 my thought exactly.
Great way of thinking! You'll go far with that mindset.

Same here sir. Blessings to you

@alex reyes okay y'all. What are you some s*** kicking hillbilly?
Josh, I know its hard. But I have studied the Afterlife and interviewed many "Near Death Experience" survivors. Heaven, the Void and Hell is real. A vast majority of people will enter heaven. Some people are ashamed and are in the holding place called the void. They don't want to step over to the light. I think all officers needs to show compassion.

You need to handle stress well and have to have the guts to handle people who got disfigured completely. Some people will die under your care no matter what, in front of your eyes. Things like that. It's a tough job, although much less risky than being a cop.
Be a nurse. You can still do emergency field medicine but get paid properly for it.
@Scott Rule To not be respected in the healthcare community for what they go through is a travesty. I understand that doctors and nurses see the same things, but the ambulance people are the ones who get them to the hospital. Where would we be without them? Good video. I hated traffic stops because you did not know what drunk fool will hit your patrol car or you, had it happen. Drunk drivers are drawn to flashing lights like a moth to a flame.
Frank ...thanks for the heads up on the flashing lights. Is their any studies on this?
@@LK-pc4sq everyone in public safety has seen it at least once...does that count for a peer review.
When my dad Buried his partner it was heartbreaking because that was his best friend. And hearing you speak about that is really really relatable.

This video and the comments are a huge eye opener
Every Anti-Police person should watch this video
# retweet!!!
I do not like where law enforcement currently is, but I am not specifically against my fellow human beings who choose to be apart of it.
lets spread this video!
Alarichswiftpaw I guess that make sense. I'm sure every officer has turned their head when another breaks the law.

Holy cow, you guys go through a lot. Thanks for your service.

James haggard thank you for everything you do and will do.
Bob Jackson if you really want to say thank you. next time you see a firefighter or EMS or police officer. tell them thank you.

What happened?
@@brittany7jeffrey4
Right.
Wow this really touched me I have a similar story. Im glad you are okay and Im thankful to have cops whom i can call angels
I give you my word."
I wanted to say so much to him...i wanted to thank him, or at least say something snappy and entertaining but couldn't because of the sedation.
No enemy shall harm you....i am your ally...i shall watch over you until you are able to stand up again....and
You shall be alright!
They are the long arm of the law
Who bend their knee and stand watch over the streets devoted
On high watch
They are the ones who sacrifice
Their badges shine brighter than the son

A badge is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
I've never heard that before. But, it's very true. People have no idea.
officer401 It's an old saying my first FTO used to say to me. Being in law enforcement has opened my eyes up to things I never would have witnessed otherwise. You get to see the very best and the very worst of society. It takes a special breed to do what we do. Keep up the good work man and stay safe.
Hayden When working as a cop do you have time for family? Do you have any free time for yourself? what's the work schedule like
officer401 Did you hear about the kidnapped 1yr old black kid in Memphis Tennessee I think it was on a Amber alert
I get to be up to put my daughter to bed and I'm always home in time to wake her up for school and pick her up when she gets out so it's perfect for me
All I can say is thank you for your service, Officer401.
Who's been here long enough to get the "body in the hallway for 3 weeks" reference

Not one single video clip of any of these situations and it felt real and hit just as hard. Thank you.
-Officer D.
Decimus Pulcher I don't know if a person exists who wouldn't have an attitude problem with a person like that. Thanks for your service!

I applied for but was turned down by the Portland Police Bureau but now I'm applying to be a Multnomah County Sheriff Deputy. Wish me luck.

"When a kid hugs onto your leg and doesn't want to let go..."
My heart, man...
Well said
God has nothing to do with the horrors that we face every day.
Amen
God bless

We call military life,,, 'training',,,, in reality, its conditioning,,,,, you will be conditioned to react to any given stimulus
a particular way...
