Hey brother. I just want to say something. keep doing what your doing. make it home safe to your family. but I also want to say thank you for helping us citizens to see life through a LEO'S life. there's a lot of bad apples in a tree. but you have shown mercy and compassion and understanding to us citizens. I hope more cops can be like you.
I just started watching your vids, I am 16 and you are already an idol for me thank you for making these vids and keep up the awesome work. YOU ARE APPRECIATED
Murdered for running to put his car in park! Only certain cops should have guns! An they would have lots of training b4 getting that gun. Too many cops killing ppl an it's Justified because he ran to his car how f***** up is that!?!?
You should collaborate with TheAfterPrisonShow he is an ex-convict. He is completely changing his life and sending a positive message and it would be cool if you guys talked about prison or how two different people think about our law system
Wow! Great first-hand experience and explanation. All these after-the-fact vids and stories never give the kind of explanation you do. That's awesome and I'm glad those situations turned out for the best.
Side note: I love how you are sharing more "job related" stories . I know how hard that is and what a thin line it truly is after being an officer rob sub . I appreciate the shit out of !!!
WHAT AN AMAZING STORY with the truck driver. You sir are an amazing police officer, your videos have definitely changed my views on law enforcement. Thank you for your service!
It's comments like this that keep my motivation going to do these videos. The whole purpose in doing this is to help change people's perspective on law enforcement, so I'm glad I was able to provide that. Thank you for your ongoing support and I'm very glad to have you as a part of the community!
I just started watching your videos, and as a young guy aspiring to become a LEO i have to say you have opened my eyes quite a bit, i already knew some stuff from always taking every chance to talk to an officer i could but hearing actual stories i feel helps me tremendously. Your videos just help affirm my decision in wanting to become a LEO. i love your videos, they are amazing and are quite funny also. Thank you for your service and be safe.
I just heard about you yesterday from another officer’s channel and I’ve watched a few of your videos thus far and I have to say I have honestly learned more about “life behind the badge” than I ever would have imagined. You seem to have a great knack for educating people. The way you explain things is simple and to the point. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Keep up the great work, Sir.
Here I am almost 4 years after this video was released rewatching it. I love when youtube creators put verbal timestamps in their videos. When this was put up @officer401 had 2,500 subscribers. As of now he has 636,000. Awesome! Keep it up and thanks for the great content.
PD Ride alongs are the Greatest, especially if you know the officer or as in my case, they knew I was a firefighter(literally just joined the FD), we had such a great time, he invited me back to ride along with him many other times over a few years. It was some of the best times I ever had, we were hanging out like long time best friends until a call came in & then that's when you flip the switch to work mode. I highly recommend it, ride alongs with PD or FD can be great for anyone. Thanks Officer 401, another cool vid & story, Stay Safe All.
Very cool forum idea! I just recently stumbled on your TH-cam channel from Mike the Cop who I also recently stumbled upon and I can't get enough! Props to you two, you both are guys that I legitimately want to meet in person, have a drink with, and talk about important stuff or just bullshit. People need to know the real side of cops
Preston Garvey Impersonator I watched one of his vids and it was at 119000. Clicked on another immediately after and it was at almost 122000. I swear, I wish I could see this same trend in my bank account!😉😜😝
It was after midnight. I had a trainee riding with me. I stopped a Mazda RX7 for speeding. Prior to the stop, I had run the license plate, which came back to a female. We both walked up to the car and I told the driver he was speeding and asked him who owned the car? He said he was going to pick up his girlfriend at work. Just the, the trainee pointed towards the passenger seat area and said "GUN!". Without thinking, my gun was out, pointed at the driver's head and I said, "DON"T MOVE!". The driver said there wasn't a gun in the car and started to reach for the area where the trainee was pointing. Now I'm screaming at the driver to "FREEZE" as the hammer is coming back and the cylinder is revolving. I guess the tone of my voice caused the driver to freeze momentarily so I grabbed his collar, pulled it back until he was pinned against the door and told the trainee to get the gun! I opened the door and got the driver out. The trainee came up with a toy gun painted black. I showed it to the driver and this grow man broke down and cried. He realized I was really going to kill him over a toy! I hand him the toy and he threw it on the ground and smashed it with his feet. I told him, "When an officer tells you to FREEZE! You Freeze! I was a split second away from blowing your head off!". I was pissed! The only thing that saved him was I had run the plate prior to the stop and figured he may not know what was in the car. Nevertheless, if he hadn't stopped, I would have killed him and it wouldn't bother me in the least.
Rick Uyeda good thing both of you ended up safe tho, even tho I know you'd enjoy blowing his brains out, you'd probably laugh about the matter over a cup of coffee and a jelly filled donut. KR00k3D PIGZ
I've been looking for a law enforcement channel like this forever and so glad I found you. I'm going to the police academy in Indiana in less than a month and I am so pumped. Keep up the great content!
this is the third or fourth video of yours I've watched now, but I subscribed after that first one I watched and commented on. Keep up the good work man.. I enjoy your content..
Officer401, Just wanted to say as a former US Navy Active Duty Member I thank you for your current service as a Police Officer. Your videos are on point, they are fun and entertaining, and I enjoy the fact that your doing your best to show the public that there are "cool" cops out there! Thanks again for the great videos, keep up the good work brother! Erik Wölfe
HappyLighter cops normally don't pull cops over it's kinda simple lol. My uncle is a cop and told me they normally know each other's cars and all they don't pull each other over unless there speeding way over or doing illegal shit
Thanks for keeping your shit together in a confusing and possibly life threatening situation. Keep saving asses, bro. Stay safe and keep the rest of us safe.
GamingInSlowMotion I've talked to many officers (I'm from Canada so it may be slightly different) but what they all said is 1) post secondary isn't necessary but helps a lot. 2) you need to be able to run at least half a mile and lift upwards of 80lbs. This will help you pass the physical no problem. 3) volunteering shows initiative and community service which they look for. Hope that helps a little.
Anybody else notice at 14:00 he shoulder checks and changes lanes, but never turns on his turn signal? I love it haha. No but I really love the videos man, subscribed
it would be interesting to see a rank included for verified members of the military, I also find this idea of a form very appealing it really shows that you do care about your subs and are willing to interact with them despite the busy life I'm sure you have
No problem man I just felt that they do so much it'd be nice for them to have a special place to chat especially about the things they went through might help some of them come to terms with it
wife's sister spent the night over our house, I don't know how the fuck I forgot she was there. I heard something in the back bedrooms thought somebody was breaking in. saw a shadow grabbed my pistol and shot at her. luckily I missed. never been so embarrassed and upset in my life. almost ended somebody's life. with all the training I have had I should have known better to see my target fully before I pulled the trigger which I did not. thank Jesus nothing happened and I missed over her head about a foot. when I heard the noise and saw the shadow I didn't even think it was a natural reaction. had a round in the chamber but I still racked it anyway and instinctively shot. what a learning experience that was. I cannot emphasize how embarrassed and pathetic I felt. you don't know how many sorrys you have to say to somebody when you pointed a gun at them and shot and missed.
"with all the training I have had I should have known better to see my target fully before I pulled the trigger" This line makes me think you would have shot had it been someone you did not know. That to me is also troubling. Breaking and entering or robbery are not justification for lethal force. Lethal force should only be used in cases of immediate threat.
BoredDan if you are in my house uninvited late at night you are dead. I live out in the middle of the country with 10 acres they're not selling Girl Scout cookies that late.
Your state deems it LEGAL to do so, not whether or not it is appropriate to do so. And whether or not it is legal, you are choosing to kill someone simply because they are in your home without your permission. That is fucked up. The chances that they could be a lethal threat are very low and you would have made the decision to take there life without making any threat assessment. IMO any reasonable person would find that to be an unreasonable use of force.
Howdy from PA! Love the extreme helpful tips I'm getting from your channel. I'm learning so much more for the future choices I gonna make. I'll be sure to take most of your advice. Keep it going, your amazing!
Last semester, I took a police operations class and we spent a couple class periods discussing the use of deadly force as well as viewed some footage of those situations. Fast forward about a month, we went to school's crime lab to perform an active shooter drill. Throughout the drill I was shot five times (deadly shots but my professor gave my life back so I could finish the drill) and had to make split second decisions of who I was going to shoot and who I wasn't. My adrenaline was pumping and although this drill was nothing compared to what you guys go through on a daily basis, it really put things into perspective. I had to quickly scan each room and shoot the "bad guys" to save the "hostages." I appreciated the opportunity I had to take the police operations class, go through the active shooter drill and the other exercises during the semester. It opened my eyes to just how stressful those situations are and what is at stake.
Officer401 dude your videos are really interesting and they can teach people alot on if they want to be an officer, and honestly your videos are inspiring me to become a police officer. Having the forums so people can chat is a really nice thing as well
Honestly I think it's a great idea in theory but it's not very practical during a high-speed pursuit with the suspect vehicle is all over the road. If anything that device could put the officer at risk to crash if it's not perfectly executed.
officer401 I feel the same way.. imagine they make a sharp turn.. the PV will either be flipped or damaged. An object in motion stays in motion. Think about it.
as a gun nut, as a future police officer. do not immediently put yout finger on the trigger. i dont care who you are. you could trip, lose valence and bang blow someones head off their shoulders. as youre saying that you were squeezing the trigger i understand why, but you don't intend to shoot. you have it drawn incase you have to school. for the love of god, keep your finger odd the trigger until you're squeezing the trigger.
Devin Shillington literitly, the state officer who taught my class pounced this in our heads. im sure it's taught in the academy, its taught in every gun store, ccw class and shooting range. his job, is to uphold the law and Constitution of the united states. not get trigger happy
Could you do a video on a time when something really got to you, like for instance a mother that can't pay a ticket, or a domestic violence or what not?
Thanks for what you do man. I’ve wanted to be a cop for years. I’m 23 but I don’t have military so I’m probably going to go the college route. You’re super inspiring.
I love how you're into being a part of your community with your subs! It's nice to see someone who wants to reach out and actually include your fans in all that you do :) keep rocking dude, we love you man!
Dude if going from 2500 subscribers to just short of 250,000 in two months doesn't tell you that what you have to say actually influences people, then I don't know what will. Much respect, be safe, and God bless.
GREAT IDEAS!!!👍😀 U ACTUALLY MAKE UR SUBCRIBERS FEEL IMPORTANT. NOT TO BAD MOUTH OTHER CHANNELS BUT MOST PEOPLE DO IT FOR MONEY... GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK U FOR THE GREAT INFORMATION U PROVIDE US WITH ...
I see your using mybb for the forums. Great choice, very easy to work with, if you need some help I'd be glad to help, I have my own forums and have some experience under my belt with mybb
officer401 lol, you are right, for me I classify mybb and phpbb one and the same, phpbb just changes configuration to php. Btw just got into your channel aswell, really loving it, I (at least try to) roleplay as a cop in GTA V with LSPDFR (probably sounds cringey since you're the real deal) but I enjoy and takes all the real danger out
also just so you know the comment was made basically to say any normal person that got caught doing ten over the limit would get a ticket of a 100 + dollars and run the risk of getting points on your license
***** well that's you some people aren't so lucky I had a cop write me a ticket for going 3 over the limit I fought it but still had to pay 180 bucks in court cost soo...
Abe Peterson I believe that it was that he was a part of a different County's police force, and he had a different County's equipment and such. Which he shouldn't of done.
wow...i have been listening to your videos for 3 hours at work. and this is the best one yet, gave me goosbumps. great person so far, very down to earth person. hopefully you will convince me to join the force
ClearCount Hmmm, well my friend, here in the United States, NO ONE is above the law. There is no such a thing as a " Do whatever I want and get away with it" Badge. So if an authority figure of the law can do it, well to hell with it, we the people can too!
If you think state patrol won't give county sheriffs or city dicks a speeding ticket you are very mistaken or i just payed $120 to the state for unicorn glitter.
401, I’ve enjoyed your videos immensely, but I just have to thank you for sharing these things. I believe that educating the ignorant and uninformed public about the vocation you chose to pursue, will produce a net positive result. I watch your videos and those of a few other LEOs and I am so grateful for the insight and education that all of you have provided. I have had a deep respect for first responders since my brother joined your ranks, but now I have a much better understanding of the decisions you make and the challenges you have to face to keep us safe. I wish you didn’t have to face the vitriol and hate of so many ignorant civilians when they clearly have no clue about the law you faithfully uphold. Thank you so much for what you do!
Officer 401, I appreciate your honesty and hard work you put into this channel. You are very entertaining, we love watching your videos whenever we can. My fiance and myself have been looking into your channel for the past 2 months, and we love your videos, subscribed.
I wish your channel could be ALOT larger!! Because with all the rhetoric going on about cops, seeing your channel might allow certain special individuals to see police officers as humans and not soulless killers!!
I just love watching your videos. I got my closest friends to watch and I've heard you get called everything from badass to funny as shit. You sir, have earned the respect of not only my friends but many kids in my school have taken up on watching your videos. Thank you for the stories and everything else.
Dude I love your stories, sure it's pretty depressing but it's interesting. I was listening to this while sitting in the dark getting ready to go to sleep. Keep it up and thank you for your service.
Blitz Ritz that's my favorite style of handgun! I have nothing wrong with your joke, I just saw m1911 in the comments and had to post :) fucking love that firearm. Got one as a birthday present from friends and family years ago and it's my favorite firearm to this date
I’m glad that we have cops like you who talk about their profession and help the public in a good way

I wanna become a police officer, In MD. What are tips you can give?
GamingInSlowMotion did you go to law school for starters?
GamingInSlowMotion I've talked to many officers (I'm from Canada so it may be slightly different) but what they all said is 1) post secondary isn't necessary but helps a lot. 2) you need to be able to run at least half a mile and lift upwards of 80lbs. Just down come up to Baltimore. Too much shit here
Zeroz yeah I heard there is easy to get into, since all you need is a high-school diploma. However, the officer death % in a year is pretty high.
Join the military
I'm in law enforcement in the state of Illinois awesome videos bro!!!
Who cares
Yeah who cares Suzuki guy lol
Anybody else notice at 14:00 he shoulder checks and changes lanes, but never turns on his turn signal? I love it haha. No but I really love the videos man, subscribed

The chances that they could be a lethal threat are very low and you would have made the decision to take there life without making any threat assessment. IMO any reasonable person would find that to be an unreasonable use of force.
dude im hyped for this
Lmao
Howdy from PA! Love the extreme helpful tips I'm getting from your channel. I'm learning so much more for the future choices I gonna make. I'll be sure to take most of your advice. Keep it going, your amazing!
You are awesome And thanks for being real
Joey Santiago Thanks bro!
he moves his hands alot
brendan lee hand* lol
Alex Andrei *a lot, not alot. 🙂
brendan lee since you can't see him it helps to make it less boring
Kaniela6759 both are grammatically incorrect
brendan lee that's just how some people talk
It opened my eyes to just how stressful those situations are and what is at stake.
i am now starting to realize that cops are people like us! :D
hay man I just started watching and I'm already hooked
Haha. Officer401 aka crack cocaine.
Officer401 dude your videos are really interesting and they can teach people alot on if they want to be an officer, and honestly your videos are inspiring me to become a police officer. Having the forums so people can chat is a really nice thing as well
Opinions on this new 'grappler' mechanism for stopping chases.
Do you want my direct opinion, are you suggesting an idea for a video?
officer401 Which is easier for you
Honestly I think it's a great idea in theory but it's not very practical during a high-speed pursuit with the suspect vehicle is all over the road. If anything that device could put the officer at risk to crash if it's not perfectly executed.
officer401 Thanks for that I didn't think about that at all.
officer401 I feel the same way.. imagine they make a sharp turn.. the PV will either be flipped or damaged. An object in motion stays in motion. Think about it.
Bro your such a good cop !!
This was the first 401 video i watched on this channel, been watching ever since. Keep it up 401!
as a gun nut, as a future police officer. do not immediently put yout finger on the trigger. i dont care who you are. you could trip, lose valence and bang blow someones head off their shoulders. as youre saying that you were squeezing the trigger i understand why, but you don't intend to shoot. you have it drawn incase you have to school. for the love of god, keep your finger odd the trigger until you're squeezing the trigger.
Neckred Billhilly lol sure, you tell a cop how to do his job.
Devin Shillington literitly, the state officer who taught my class pounced this in our heads. im sure it's taught in the academy, its taught in every gun store, ccw class and shooting range. his job, is to uphold the law and Constitution of the united states. not get trigger happy
Neckred Billhilly He was not trigger happy. He was ready to do what he needed to do if he had to do it.
Could you do a video on a time when something really got to you, like for instance a mother that can't pay a ticket, or a domestic violence or what not?
Great idea!
Thanks for what you do man. I’ve wanted to be a cop for years. I’m 23 but I don’t have military so I’m probably going to go the college route. You’re super inspiring.
Damn you have super dark tint on your car. I wish it is legal for us to have that kind of tint on our cars :( lol
eduardoig17 that's what I was thinking but their dark tint helps us spot them.
eduardoig17 it's mainly because if you can't see I the car you put the officer in danger
eduardoig17 it is buddy, because they're the goverment. And they can use the phone when they're driving. It's the law. :)
Lol, it is obviously CGI
I'm currently studying to become a cop in my state. Good to be a brother in blue soon :)
I love how you're into being a part of your community with your subs! It's nice to see someone who wants to reach out and actually include your fans in all that you do :) keep rocking dude, we love you man!
If you need another idea you could do a video on encounters with drunk people
Good idea!
Hey brother great video. Ever think about doing a duty belt setup? I think that'd be pretty cool.
Dude if going from 2500 subscribers to just short of 250,000 in two months doesn't tell you that what you have to say actually influences people, then I don't know what will. Much respect, be safe, and God bless.
Why haven't I found this channel earlier it's lit
Lt. Dan Just found it now after watching his most recent video, I feel the same way haha
GREAT IDEAS!!!👍😀
U ACTUALLY MAKE UR SUBCRIBERS FEEL IMPORTANT. NOT TO BAD MOUTH OTHER CHANNELS BUT MOST PEOPLE DO IT FOR MONEY... GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK U FOR THE GREAT INFORMATION U PROVIDE US WITH ...
SUPRA I DONT KNOW
hey man, stumbled on your videos tonight while on leave for the army. stay safe out there. I appreciate you guys taking care of the home front.
I see your using mybb for the forums. Great choice, very easy to work with, if you need some help I'd be glad to help, I have my own forums and have some experience under my belt with mybb
phpBB ;)
officer401 lol, you are right, for me I classify mybb and phpbb one and the same, phpbb just changes configuration to php. Btw just got into your channel aswell, really loving it, I (at least try to) roleplay as a cop in GTA V with LSPDFR (probably sounds cringey since you're the real deal) but I enjoy and takes all the real danger out
It's not cringy at all because I used to play it too!
officer401 I always wondered how actual officers perceived it! Doing the real thing is probably a thousand times harder then moving joysticks!
I wish you could play the police in GTA against players... Would be cool if the cops weren't so easily lost and you had real players after you
Question will you be doing a veteran or current military ranking of some kind or branch of service rank?
Or us Volunteer Support Firefighters?
Officer401 your videos are cazy funny and I love how straight to the point you are. Keep up the good work
75 in a 65 so you gonna write yourself a ticket
justin devaul okay? Who doesn't go 10 over? Quit being such a sissy.
Houston0hustlas OK so being a smart ass makes me a sissy smdh
also just so you know the comment was made basically to say any normal person that got caught doing ten over the limit would get a ticket of a 100 + dollars and run the risk of getting points on your license
justin devaul I've been pulled over a few times going 15 over and drove away with warnings so....
***** well that's you some people aren't so lucky I had a cop write me a ticket for going 3 over the limit I fought it but still had to pay 180 bucks in court cost soo...
Can you further explain what the whole system of a counties gun and ammo is so bad? I don't really understand that
Abe Peterson I believe that it was that he was a part of a different County's police force, and he had a different County's equipment and such. Which he shouldn't of done.
wow...i have been listening to your videos for 3 hours at work. and this is the best one yet, gave me goosbumps. great person so far, very down to earth person. hopefully you will convince me to join the force
That highway looks familiar and when u said GBI I automatically knew where ur at, your somewhere in GA
That's some good shit and some deep shit.
I fell down the TH-cam rabbit hole and discovered your channel about an hour ago & subbed right away!
woah your windows are really tinted! I didn't know I can tint my windows like that!
ClearCount Hmmm, well my friend, here in the United States, NO ONE is above the law. There is no such a thing as a " Do whatever I want and get away with it" Badge. So if an authority figure of the law can do it, well to hell with it, we the people can too!
ClearCount I'll just show my tax dollar recipient, when he pulls me over, this video and how dark this officer's windows are. I should be alright.
watch his newest video he explains the tints
kevin p it depends on state and his are half tinted for the front. Check state guidelines.
If you think state patrol won't give county sheriffs or city dicks a speeding ticket you are very mistaken or i just payed $120 to the state for unicorn glitter.
I just drank a Monster, then the next day I go get an Ice Coffee in Starbucks. Am I going to have a Heart Attack?
Whitejaguar 522 the internet says yes and you may have cancer, i say no, my dad say im nuts and to go to bed. Idk man
Ok... I guess I'm good. I need to chill out with these drinks though. Damn
Whitejaguar 522 nah youll be fine. I drank 12 redbulls in 24 hours before
Adam Fält Rönnbo Well.. I never knew that. I guess I can drink infinite amounts of Monster!! Just kidding. The sugar will kill me.
Whitejaguar 522 yes
GOD'S SPECIAL PEOPLE !!!
Do you have any videos or pictures of your K-9?
Officer 401, I appreciate your honesty and hard work you put into this channel. You are very entertaining, we love watching your videos whenever we can. My fiance and myself have been looking into your channel for the past 2 months, and we love your videos, subscribed.
you seem like a nice, awesome, and funny cop :)
I wish your channel could be ALOT larger!! Because with all the rhetoric going on about cops, seeing your channel might allow certain special individuals to see police officers as humans and not soulless killers!!
did you not hear how disappointed he was the guy lived?
I just love watching your videos. I got my closest friends to watch and I've heard you get called everything from badass to funny as shit. You sir, have earned the respect of not only my friends but many kids in my school have taken up on watching your videos. Thank you for the stories and everything else.
I watch these vids to get tips on evading police
haha good luck.
Don't drive a ford ranger or wear a red hat.
james harlow lol
Can't outrun Motorola man.
You may out run a car but not a helicopter or better yet, the radio.
" No pressure" He said :'))
Dude I love your stories, sure it's pretty depressing but it's interesting. I was listening to this while sitting in the dark getting ready to go to sleep. Keep it up and thank you for your service.
My cousin had a traffic stop like that but instead of a handbrake it was an m1911
Blitz Ritz that's my favorite style of handgun! I have nothing wrong with your joke, I just saw m1911 in the comments and had to post :) fucking love that firearm. Got one as a birthday present from friends and family years ago and it's my favorite firearm to this date
What state you in also to talk to every sub might get hard when you get more subs sir
Bruns Kraven Georgia
Thank you
Little late to your videos but love them. It’s really awesome hearing an officers perspective on situations!
you're in Georgia? I live there too... near Augusta....
nanahachi kurenai no fucking way, I live right outside of Augusta, in Aiken sc
Me too wtf
Lol
How has he gained 60k subs in a month?
Every day I check he's gained like 10k subs
Interesting content. And when something goes "viral" youtube helps out reaching out to more people.
Chub And Tuck How often do ppl get insight in a cop`s mind. Curiosity, thats how he gets his subs.
It's awsome to see a real police officer doing vlogs! keep it up and stay safe out there!
