I like Yamaha plastic alto, but not ecodear - feels dead in my Hands. So i drilles some experimental extra holes into...but the poor recorder didnt survive it... + I also like Zen-on; much more the soprano but bressan alto also; very different from both Yamaha altos (YRA 302 &312 i guess) I have. In easy words: Bressan better for baroque music and yamaha better for modern, experimental. Mostly I play lower recorders Tenor, Basset und C-Bass...

@@edeka3 I agree.. even if it's well made, I guess the price partly comes from the simple fact that it is 415hz... but it still is more accessible than Stanesby alto of Bernolin (594.00€ ...) ..

Interesting because i have an Ecodear and have a zenon on order. I hate the colour of the Ecodear and I wish 'plastic' recorders didn't look so... plastic.
The background noise is very distracting. Also I presume he is playing in a mirror. Watching people playing the wrong way round is also disturbing. I would like to see his videos without these problems. Suzanne
on the high notes they sound gentle, but on middle notes the Bressan has fat round sound. and metalic on the high notes which a lot of people dont like, thank you 🙂🙂🙂
@@mattfangrecorderstudio8325 I ordered the Yamaha in soprano and alto (my first recorders ). I play other instruments and tin whistle so I dove in and got both soprano and alto. I may try the Zen on later. I am very happy to have found your channel. Take care
@@jimbo3847 thank you so much. i dont have any wooden alto yet but i am very contented on what my zen on bressan alto can do. my ecodear soprano sounds almost the same as the ebony in dry acoustics. im going to try them ona hall in the future.
i am plamnning to buy the yamaha alto 312 B 3, its good looking, rosewood simulation design, hope you check it too, the problem with Bressan is its so hard to play really high notes but really sounds good o middle and low notes,

Was your Bressen a 442 Hz? I bought that recorder and found it had smaller caps between the holes.
yes its 442, i use them both but the Bressan packs more power on low and middle registers.

You probably already realized, but the video is mirrored (look at the orientation of the tone holes). He is playing the standard way.

I found a lot of boxwood colored like the ecodear.

You play them both very well. I think I prefer the Yamaha.
